We are looking for an enthusiastic and confident individual to support our nation office in Glasgow. With experience of providing administrative support for a range of purposes and colleagues, together with knowledge of Health and Safety, Safeguarding and General Data Protection Regulations, you will ensure the office is safe, organised and efficient.
About the role
The Nations Support Officer will support the nation-based team, providing seamless and effective business support to running operations within the nation.
This role will include responsibility for the general management of a nation office, delivering effective and compliant services including day-to-day security, maintenance and health and safety provision within the site.
About you
If your knowledge, skills and experience include the following then we’d love to hear from you:
- Experience of successfully managing ad hoc tasks and small-scale projects in an administrative or similar role, demonstrating knowledge and awareness of Health and Safety, Safeguarding, General Data Protection Regulations; knowing when to escalate issues.
- Experience of working as part of a team, as well as with minimal supervision and using own initiative whilst demonstrating excellent customer service with the ability to remain calm, diplomatic and composed.
- Experience of working in a support role with responsibility for meeting regulatory requirements and providing administrative support to home-based staff or geographically dispersed colleagues and volunteers.
*As a hybrid worker the expectation is that you will spend around 40% of your working time in our office spaces or working in community settings. Skills
- Experience of Microsoft Office, including a working knowledge of 365 applications, including Outlook and Excel, and ideally a working knowledge of the following: SharePoint, One Note and Teams.
- General property management experience including environmental management.
- Can demonstrate effective supplier relationships and a customer care approach.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills with attention to detail. A proactive approach and the ability to work on multiple projects/tasks simultaneously.
- Confident to lead relationships and outputs from senior stakeholders, including landlords and able to apply critical thinking in response to issues arising.
- Health and Safety knowledge to conduct fire evacuation training, mandatory checks/implementations, employee on site inductions and conducting event risk assessments.
- An enthusiastic and flexible approach, able to work closely and adaptively with the immediate team and collaboratively across the wider organisation.
- Knowledge and understanding of the Voluntary sector in the Nations and the environment we operate in.
- Knowledge of safeguarding principles and practice. Strong empathy for the needs of volunteers, people with arthritis and staff.

- Data with knowledge of General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).

Job Title: Northern Ireland Support and Development Worker
Salary: £27,776 pro rata for part time (FTE 35 hours)
Hours: 17.5 hours a week each (over 3 days, to be agreed)
Location: Home based – covering Belfast Trust with travel across Northern Ireland
We are looking for a new team member who can cover the Belfast Trust area on a part time basis. You will be home based preferably living within the Belfast Trust but will be required to travel across Northern Ireland to attend events, clinics and meet with Shine staff and members.
Purpose of Job
To deliver a high-quality service to and facilitate opportunities for individuals living with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus and their families/carers through Shine membership. To empower and enable members affected by the conditions to lead healthy and happy lives through greater independence, better condition management and by creating links to the Shine community across Northern Ireland.
Core role

To provide information to individuals, families, carers affected by Spina Bifida and/or Hydrocephalus.

To provide advice, support and guidance to enable people living with Spina Bifida and/or Hydrocephalus to access the correct benefits to become financially stable, the right services to improve their health and well-being, and to better co-ordinate their support and independence through a variety of methods.

To refer individual members and/or their families/carers to the most appropriate source of expertise and support in Shine’s Health team and other designated leads within the organisation, or signpost to external agencies as appropriate.

To develop age-specific groups and peer support networks which will provide opportunities for people with Spina Bifida and/or Hydrocephalus to connect and interact, enabling social opportunities and to share experiences, support and learn from each other.

We are looking for a Senior Practitioner to join the Hounslow Reach team.
Floating Support services work with people to sustain their housing. We use a strength-based approach to work with people to identify what support they require and how we can address them together or / and in collaboration with others e.g. landlords, Department of Work and pension or mental health services.
We can support people for the duration of their tenancy, or we can provide short term intervention. We can provide resettlement support when a tenancy commences, and we can equip people with the skills to manage their home and goals independently or when they are move on ready and require minimal support.
You will:
- Provide a flexible and responsive service to people with complex needs and vulnerabilities.
- Manage and coach staff to deliver safe and person-centred support to people with support needs across dispersed community locations.
- Effectively work in partnership with the management team.

Purpose of the role:
We are looking for candidates with experience of supporting individuals with barriers to work into paid employment. Within this role you will carry a significant responsibility, managing a caseload of clients from a refugee background and supporting them in securing meaningful employment, training, and education opportunities.
You will provide one-to-one personalised support, delivering quality Information Advice and Guidance (IAG), alongside ongoing support to ensure your clients have all the skills they need to get into work. This involves working with clients to produce individual action plans with clear goals and actions to overcome identified needs and barriers and provide a clear pathway towards the labour market.
You will work with clients online and by phone, as well as in person to monitor their progress towards their goals. Complementary support will be delivered through our volunteers who are trained in delivering employment advice, and you will book weekly appointments for clients, allocating time slots according to availability and the volunteer’s specialty.
You will also work with specialist referral partners to support clients to overcome complex barriers to employment. We offer a strong team environment, where your ideas and drive will be welcomed and where you as an individual can make a real difference to people’s lives.
