Job description
Domestic Abuse Support & Helpline Worker

Applications are invited for the following post, from those who have a strong commitment to working with women and children.

You’ll support the work carried out by Domestic Abuse Key Workers providing 24 hour support to women and their children who are living in Refuge Accommodation as a result of experiencing domestic violence, abuse and homelessness.

Domestic Abuse Support & Helpline Worker Responsibilities:

- You will safeguard women and children, providing safety and security for the well-being of the client group.
- You will ensure required health and safety checks are completed and any faults and repairs reported as per procedure.
- You will ensure that vacant safe spaces are clean, free from damage and of a high standard.
- You will support with helpline calls and provide a sensitive listening service to women over the telephone and online live chat, supporting callers by talking through their experiences and providing safety options and completing referrals and admissions process as required out of hours.

The post holder will also be completing all relevant safeguarding referrals when necessary, including children and adults.

The Haven Wolverhampton established in 1973 to provide both practical and emotional support services to women and children who are affected by domestic violence, homelessness, and abuse.

Location: Wolverhampton

Contract type: Permanent, Full Time (40 hours per week)

Salary: £19,500 - £22,500
