Job Specification

The Role:

Reporting to the Head of Philanthropy, the Philanthropy Manager is responsible for developing and managing individual giving revenue streams (inclusive of membership), alongside their own portfolio of higher-level supporters and legacy donors, working alongside the Head of Philanthropy to shape and implement the overall strategy. The Philanthropy Manager collaborates closely within the Philanthropy team, across the Development Department, and with colleagues in the Audiences Department to design and implement a cohesive, exceptional supporter experience for members and individual supporters of the Festival. The Philanthropy team is a close-knit team, thriving in a fast-paced environment, which requires flexibility, excellent organisation and time-management, and strong communication skills.

Performance Indicators and Deliverables 

· A fundraising strategy for membership and individual giving (mid-level, online, US-based donors, and legacy) is delivered successfully and meets or exceeds annual income targets.

· Successfully engaging with donors and prospects in the Philanthropy Manager’s portfolio to move donors & prospects through the fundraising cycle, resulting in new, renewed, and upgraded giving.

· The Membership scheme and US giving scheme are managed appropriately, adhering to legal and regulatory requirements, monitored and reported on regularly, and are delivered in collaboration with colleagues across the organisation to ensure an exceptional and consistent donor experience.

· The Festival’s gift aid claim is submitted successfully each year, with underlying data and tracking mechanisms in place and audited regularly for accuracy.

· Prospects are identified proactively, organised and assigned strategically, engaged consistently, and moved through the fundraising cycle to ensure a healthy pipeline of future supporters.

· The Philanthropy Manager is abreast of wider fundraising trends, regulatory changes, and best-practice, and proactively shares and implements this across the Philanthropy team and Development Department.

· The Philanthropy Manager is viewed internally as a collaborative and knowledgeable colleague and contributes actively to organisational policies, culture, and projects.

Grant Accountant

Money Ready is dedicated to creating a financially fluent population, and our finance team plays a vital role in making that ambition possible. We’re looking for an experienced grant accounting professional to join us on a six-month contract, taking ownership of our grant financial reporting and setting up a new procurement structure for our schools team.

You’ll prepare financial information for grant proposals and donor reports, maintain restricted and unrestricted fund schedules, and keep our grant compliance and audit readiness in good shape. Alongside this, you’ll design and implement Money Ready’s procurement framework from scratch, covering policy, supplier due diligence, purchase orders and contract management, before handing this over to our Finance Assistant once it’s up and running.

This role sits at the bridge between transactional finance and our wider strategic finance function, so we’re looking for someone who’s just as comfortable in the detail as they are explaining financial data to non-finance colleagues and funders.

What the role involves:

Preparing grant budgets, financial narratives and donor reports in line with funder requirements and Charity SORP. Tracking grant budgets against actuals and reporting variances to the Senior Finance & Operations Manager. Designing and rolling out a procurement framework, from supplier onboarding through to contract renewals. Supporting month-end reconciliations and audit schedules. About You

You will have strong knowledge of charity finance, including SORP, statutory reporting, audit and financial controls. Experience of donor-funded programmes, restricted funding, international operations or multiple currencies would be particularly valuable.

You will be confident preparing and explaining financial information to non-financial colleagues, senior leaders and trustees. You will also be collaborative, highly organised and comfortable working independently within a remote and values-led organisation.

Experience of QuickBooks or Zoho Books would be helpful, although the ability to confidently use and develop financial systems is more important.

Operational Oversight

As a Store Manager you will manage the day to day running of our Greenhaw Road Community Store, leading a team of colleagues to maximise store sales and profits. • Maintain a high standard of presentation, both in the windows and the interior of the Store.

SLRA is a frontline community organisation established in 1991 which supports refugees, asylum seekers and migrants in crisis in South London. We provide specialist legal advice and holistic casework to enable people to regularise their immigration status, access rights and entitlements and move on from destitution. Every year we provide support directly to over 1000 migrants in the London Boroughs of Lambeth, Merton, Croydon, Wandsworth, Southwark and beyond. Our support gives marginalised people access to justice and the opportunity to build a safe, stable and positive future. 

The Role 

This is a key role in ensuring that we continue to secure the resources we need to provide our vital services and activities for refugees, asylum seekers and other migrants in South London. As Fundraising Manager for SLRA, you will play a pivotal role in implementing our fundraising strategy, building relationships with donors and exceeding fundraising goals. We are predominantly funded by Trusts and Foundations and you will be responsible for maintaining and expanding this funder base, while helping to diversify our income streams in order to ensure that established services and activities are sustained.

We are seeking a Roaming International Finance Manager to provide short- to medium-term finance cover and additional capacity across a global programme portfolio. This is a hands-on international finance role, supporting Programme Managers and country teams to manage financial risk, strengthen financial controls, and ensure effective delivery of standard financial operating procedures.

The role may also include the induction, training and capacity-building of new International Finance Managers and local finance teams.

The successful candidate will work across a range of country programmes, often in challenging or developing-country contexts, providing support on budgeting, donor reporting, financial planning, monthly close processes, cash management, statutory compliance, audit preparation and partner contract oversight. They will play a key role in ensuring financial systems, reporting and controls are robust, compliant and aligned with operational needs.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Supporting country financial planning, forecasting and grant/contract budgeting.
• Monitoring grant and contract spend, including cost-to-completion and spend-out plans.
• Identifying and managing programme financial risks.
• Ensuring financial policies and standard operating procedures are implemented across programme locations.
• Overseeing monthly financial close and ledger accuracy.
• Preparing donor, client and country financial statements.
• Managing cash flow, banking arrangements and exchange-rate exposure.
• Supporting statutory, donor and external audits.
• Building the capacity of national finance teams and supporting staff development.

About you

You will be a qualified accountant, or able to demonstrate equivalent experience, with at least five years’ financial management experience, including two years overseas. You will bring strong financial planning, reporting, donor compliance and risk-management skills, together with the flexibility and resilience required to work in varied international contexts. Experience managing and developing small teams is essential.

This role would suit a practical, adaptable and culturally sensitive finance professional who is comfortable working both strategically and operationally, including in environments where living and working conditions may be basic.

About the role

This is a senior research programme management role supporting the delivery of a major externally funded health research programme involving multiple organisations, international collaborators and diverse stakeholder groups. The programme includes research involving human participants and brings together expertise from universities, charities, clinicians, researchers, technologists and people with lived experience.

A defining feature of this programme is its commitment to survivor leadership and co-design. Survivors of torture will play an active role in shaping, informing and governing the research throughout its lifecycle. The successful candidate will therefore work closely with survivor advisors, co-design groups and governance structures to support meaningful participation and ensure that lived experience perspectives are incorporated into programme decision-making, research development and delivery. This commitment to participation is central to the ethos, methodology and success of the programme.

Reporting to the Principal Investigator, the Research Programme Manager will act as the central coordination point across the consortium and will be responsible for leading programme planning, coordinating international partners, supporting governance structures, managing funder reporting and compliance, coordinating financial oversight, supporting research governance and ethics, monitoring programme risks and preparing high-quality reports and briefings for funders, governance bodies and senior stakeholders.

About you

You will be an experienced programme or project management professional with a track record of delivering complex health research programmes. You will have experience of managing externally funded research programmes, working with major research funders, coordinating activity across multiple organisations, supporting governance structures, managing risk and assurance processes, and contributing to financial monitoring and reporting.

You will understand the importance of meaningful involvement of people with lived experience in research and service development. You will have experience of supporting inclusive engagement, co-design, consultation or participation activities and be committed to ensuring that diverse voices influence decision-making, governance and programme delivery.

You will bring excellent communication and relationship-management skills, with the ability to work confidently with academics, clinicians, funders, people with lived experience, senior organisational leaders and colleagues across different professional backgrounds. This role would particularly suit candidates from university or health providers research management, major health research funders, and mental or physical health clinicians with substantial research management experience.
