The Marketing & Communications Officer will be passionate about the Institute’s aims of providing cultural and social opportunities for the local community.

The Senior Lead - Acquisition & Digital Fundraising role is responsible for delivering Operation Smile UK’s strategic individual giving acquisition programme. This role is key to driving income growth and expanding our supporter base across multiple channels, including digital, DRTV, dialogue fundraising and print.
You will lead the strategy, planning, delivery and evaluation of acquisition campaigns, including the onboarding process, with full accountability for managing significant budgets, agency partnerships and performance metrics. This is a senior, hands-on role suited to an experienced acquisition fundraiser with strong commercial acumen and a data-driven mindset.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Campaign Leadership
- Develop and implement the multi-channel acquisition strategy, aligned with income targets and supporter growth objectives.
- Lead on the planning and delivery of campaigns across direct dialogue, digital, DRTV, and print channels.
- Lead on the planning and delivery of the onboarding process for all new recruits.
- Monitor and report on campaign performance, providing insight-driven recommendations to optimise results.

Budget Ownership & Performance Monitoring
- Take full responsibility for acquisition budget management, income forecasting and cost control.

A new role, the Finance Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of the charity's day-to-day finances, contracts and risk management. As a member of the senior leadership team, they will support the CEO with strategic planning. A key part of the role will include financial planning and administrative support for the charity’s fundraising efforts as part of a £6.5m conservation and renovation programme. They will lead the preparation for, and presentations at the charity’s Board and related finance committees.
The postholder will ensure that the charity’s budget and out turn are closely monitored and that established financial controls, spanning the procurement to payments cycle, are firmly adhered to. They will lead budget setting, forecasting, and financial reporting (including management of the external audit and production of the annual report and accounts) and will support wider work programme-planning for the charity, setting the foundations for financial success and sustainability. In addition, the postholder will act as the central finance liaison with the Inns of Court of Inner and Middle Temple – TCT’s principal funders – as well as with other stakeholders, donors and cross-departmentally.

The Grants, Trusts & Foundations Manager will work closely with and report to the Head of Philanthropy to develop the Trust pipeline, along with instrumental cross-team work on applications and reporting processes for other income streams. Job Purpose
You’ll support the day-to-day running of the charity’s finance function—ensuring income and expenditure are processed accurately, reconciliations are completed on time, strong controls are maintained, and colleagues receive responsive support. You’ll also act as the key finance contact for payroll administration delivered via an external provider (providing inputs, checking outputs, and ensuring accurate postings into Xero).
Key responsibilities
1) Accounts payable (supplier invoices & payments)
- Process supplier invoices end-to-end: query resolution, correct coding (including VAT), approvals, posting to Xero, and maintaining an audit trail.
- Prepare and run supplier payment batches in line with controls and delegated authorities.
- Maintain supplier records and support efficient, professional supplier query handling.
2) Expenses & corporate cards (Payhawk) and posting to Xero
- Administer Payhawk expenses and card transactions: ensure receipts are submitted, policy rules are followed, and transactions are coded accurately.
- Configure and maintain Payhawk mappings (chart of accounts, VAT rates, tracking categories) to support clean exports into Xero.
- Export approved expenses/payments to Xero and support reconciliation between Payhawk activity, Xero postings, and bank/feeds.
3) Income processing and reconciliations (including donations)
- Raise sales invoices (where required), allocate receipts, and support routine credit control as appropriate.
- Reconcile income from bank, donation platforms, and other sources; ensure accurate allocation to the correct funds/projects (including restricted funding where relevant).
- Support Gift Aid record-keeping and processes (where applicable).
4) Payroll support (external payroll provider)
- Act as the key liaison with the external payroll provider to deliver monthly payroll accurately and on schedule.

Financial oversight, planning, and reporting
Review all financial transactions related to the ADB project on a monthly basis and ensure that they are correct including cost recovery, co-financing, bank balances, and coding.

Grant financial management
In close consultation with the programmes & partnerships team:
Maintain accurate financial records and grant codes for the ADB project, while supporting the set-up and management of other grants as needed.
Ensure timely submission of cash requests and sub-grant agreements, in compliance with both ADB and AKF(UK) standards, and support the same across the wider portfolio.
Review budgets for ADB and other donor concepts/proposals, ensuring inclusion of AKF(UK) costs, compliance with donor requirements, and consistency with narratives.
Support the in-country project management unit (PMU) to ensure that the project is robustly managed and proactively support the resolution of challenges as they arise.
Provide training and reference materials for implementing partners and field staff on ADB-specific donor regulations, procurement, and reporting, while contributing to broader finance training across the organisation.
Provide technical support and guidance to implementing partners and country units, with particular focus on ADB compliance but also assisting with other donor requirements as needed.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The role of Marketing and Communications Coordinator is to provide support in ensuring the
local community is kept informed about Matrix and its projects, as well as engaged in

This role sits at the heart of Operation Smile UK’s five-year strategy to deliver transformational growth across all income streams. As Senior Lead - Retention & Legacy Fundraising, you will be instrumental in delivering on three of the four core strategic priorities:

The Senior Lead - Retention & Legacy Fundraising is responsible for delivering Operation Smile UK’s strategic individual giving retention and legacy marketing programme. This role is key to driving income growth from our existing donors from the point of recruitment, maximising value and minimising attrition from the regular giving pool and generating and retaining legacy actions and prospects.
You will lead on the strategy, planning, delivery and evaluation of retention campaigns, with full accountability for managing significant budgets, agency partnerships and performance metrics.

However, once established in the role, there may be scope to work from home up to two days per week, depending on performance, team needs, and operational requirements.
About you:
For you the supporter is key, whether they’re a running in a marathon, holding a tea party, or a corporate partnership taking part in an international sponsored bike ride.
You’ll be enthusiastic, highly organised, and able to multitask effectively. With strong verbal and written communication skills, you’ll also have some experience in charity fundraising, particularly community fundraising—whether voluntary or paid. Strong in administrative tasks, you’ll be confident in managing multiple responsibilities while maintaining attention to detail. Above all, you’ll be passionate about community fundraising and building meaningful connections to support a great cause.
