Salary: £11,700- £13,050 , .45 FTE of £26,000- £29,000 per anum
Qualified applicants (with an accredited VAWG /domestic abuse qualification) dependent on experience: £27,000k-£29,000 Pro rata to .45 FTE per annum. 
Unqualified applicants, dependent on experience: £26,000-£27,000 pro rata to .45 FTE per annum

About the Service
Southwark Advocacy support service (SASS) provides free and confidential support to survivors of abuse within the community. The teams are made up of professional staff offering short to medium term support to women and men affected by domestic and sexual violence in the community. Our teams offer information, advocacy and specialist services to increase safety and meet a range of needs – these can include ongoing safety concerns, emotional or housing support, legal options, reporting to the police, help around child contact, benefits and financial advice.
An exciting opportunity has arisen in this busy team for a Duty worker. The successful candidate will be responsible for risk and needs assessing and safety planning with survivors of domestic and sexual violence. Acting as the first point of contact for the Southwark SASS service, providing support to survivors of domestic and sexual violence, managing incoming calls and processing referrals. 

About You
We're looking for highly organised and self-motivated applicants who are passionate about ending gender-based violence. You will have a “can-do‟ approach and demonstrable commitment to Solace’s feminist approach to supporting women and their children to be safer. You will receive training and support for this role as necessary.
Successful applicants will have in-depth knowledge of domestic abuse and its impact on service users and their children, experience of working with women who have experienced domestic and /or sexual abuse including strong casework management skills.

About the Role

The Duty Worker will lead on dealing with incoming referrals to the Southwark Advocacy Support Service. The role will involve processing all referrals, liaising with professionals, processing referrals and establishing initial contact as per the service’s contract requirement. This will include intake of new self-referrals that the service receives. The process of initial contact will involve completing a SafeLives risk assessment, assessing the service user’s practical and therapeutic needs and supporting with any urgent needs that arise during this contact. Additionally, the duty worker will refer out to MARAC and complete adult or child safeguarding referrals where required in line with SWA’s policies and procedures. The Duty Worker will maintain and manage any waiting lists with weekly follow up contact and will work closely with the Service Manager and all members of the team in relation to the allocation of cases. 
About You

The ideal candidate would have demonstrable experience of working with those affected by domestic and/or sexual violence and experience of managing risk and following case management procedures to meet the needs of a diverse and vulnerable client group.
You will have some knowledge of housing, welfare and policy relating to domestic/sexual violence, as well as excellent administrative and time management skills; including multi-tasking and using excel. 
You will also have the ability to effectively manage a busy caseload.
