We are seeking an experienced Communications Lead Officer who will be responsible for developing and delivering a strategic communications plan for the Diocese of St Davids and will shape and deliver a pro-active, strategic and mission-aligned communications function. Working closely with senior lay and clergy leaders, they will enhance the Diocese's visibility, strengthen stakeholder engagement, and ensure consistency of voice across all platforms.

This is a senior hands-on role requiring both creative, strategic leadership and operational delivery across digital and print media, and internal communications.

WHAT WE OFFER

About the role

We’re looking for a motivated and creative Senior Marketing Officer to join Kinship’s Marketing Team to help us reach more kinship carers with our support offer. You’ll bring strong experience in delivering effective, insight-driven digital marketing campaigns across channels, including social media, email, web, paid advertising and content marketing.   

You’ll play a key role in delivering integrated marketing campaigns and promoting our services and programmes – including Department for Education-funded training – to kinship carers, referral partners, and professionals across England and Wales.   

Working closely with the Head of Marketing, you’ll plan and deliver impactful marketing activity, create engaging content, and use data and analytics to optimise performance. You’ll also contribute to shaping our marketing strategy by bringing evidence, creativity and best practice from across the digital landscape. This hands-on role offers the opportunity to maximise reach and impact and raise the profile of kinship care while supporting families.   

Key responsibilities   

• Work with the Head of Marketing to develop marketing plans, and have day-to-day oversight of the delivery of these to promote the DfE-funded training and support service to kinship carers, to ensure good take-up of all training events by a diverse range of kinship carers, in line with the programme goals.

• Plan and deliver multi-channel marketing campaigns (digital, print, social media - paid and organic, email, SMS, etc.), monitoring and optimising campaigns for greatest impact and testing new approaches.

• Produce and oversee content creation for marketing plans and campaigns, delivering high-quality, insight-led and engaging marketing content for different audiences and/or channels, including case studies, blog posts, leaflets, videos, and social media assets.

• Plan and deliver creative and innovative paid ads campaigns across Meta, reviewing and optimising throughout, ensuring robust reporting is in place and using analytics and insights to inform future campaigns.

• Help embed a new email marketing platform to support the delivery of our email marketing strategy, including segmentation, automated journeys testing and reporting.

• Support the delivery of marketing strategies and activities to grow brand awareness and increase engagement with kinship carers and other key audiences.

• With the Head of Marketing, work with services teams to understand our target audience, and identify opportunities to integrate Kinship’s holistic support offer - including our peer support service and website advice content/ Kinship Compass - into training marketing activity where appropriate.

• Track KPIs and produce regular monitoring reports on marketing performance across channels and, with support from the Head of Marketing, adjust campaigns and plans to optimise impact and make recommendations for future testing.

• Manage and prioritise incoming requests from the organisational briefing process for services marketing support, including producing collateral templates in line with brand guidelines, working closely and collaboratively with comms and digital teams.

• Work in collaboration and co-production with kinship carers to ensure meaningful input and representation in the development of relevant plans and activities.

​Knowledge, abilities, skills and experience: 

Experience    

• Demonstrable marketing experience in an in-house or agency role (minimum 4 years experience).   

• Experience of developing and delivering marketing campaigns and activity to meet specific objectives, including engagement and acquisition of target audiences.   

• Experience of supporting numerous marketing campaigns or activities at the same time.   

• Strong digital marketing experience, including use of email marketing systems; design software including Canva; social media platforms and photo and video editing software.   

• Experience of planning, delivering and optimising email marketing campaigns to drive supporter engagement, using segmentation, automation and performance analysis. 

• Experience using a Contact Management System, such as Salesforce.   

• Passion for and experience of developing a range of content for different audiences and channels (such as videos, infographics, blogs and social media posts).   

• Experience of using communications planning tools or systems (e.g. planning grids, Asana, Hootsuite, Loomly).   

• Experience of tracking and reporting on social media and other digital marketing analytics and using insights and data to inform optimisation and planning of new activity.   

• Experience of delivering marketing campaigns across organic and paid social, particularly Meta paid advertising.    

• Experience working with brand guidelines and applying brand principles to create impactful marketing. 

Knowledge and skills   

• Exceptional written and spoken communications skills, with the ability to develop impactful narratives tailored to different audiences and channels.   

• Excellent attention to detail.   

• Excellent organisation skills and the ability to work happily in a fast-paced environment, keeping multiple projects and objectives on track, often to tight deadlines.

• Ability to work in a small in-house team, developing marketing materials and campaigns with limited resource demanding creativity and excellent project management skills.   

• Confident using Microsoft 365 including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and online design programmes such as Canva.     

• Understanding of how Meta paid social and paid search complement each other across the user journey

The Role

Key Responsibilities

Marketing & Audience Growth

• Lead marketing strategy for The Queen’s Reading Room Festival and other major events, with clear audience and revenue objectives.

• Develop and deliver integrated ticketing campaigns across digital, email, social, media and partner channels.

• Manage ticketing communications and optimise audience conversion journeys.

• Monitor ticket sales in real time and adjust tactics to meet targets.

• Oversee paid marketing activity, including digital advertising and out-of-home placements where appropriate.

• Develop audience segmentation strategies to grow and retain supporters.

• Produce post-campaign and post-event reports with clear insights and recommendations.

About the role

We’re excited to be recruiting a Senior Media Manager (News) to help shape WWF-UK’s news agenda and deliver high-impact media coverage that supports our mission. This role leads the delivery of proactive and reactive news strategies, securing high-profile coverage across national, regional and specialist media outlets and ensuring WWF’s voice is clear, credible and influential.

Working closely with colleagues across science, conservation, policy and campaigns, you will guide how WWF shows up in the news cycle, providing strong editorial judgement and ensuring timely, well-messaged responses to a fast-moving external environment. As part of a job share arrangement, you will co-lead the news function and line manage two Media Managers, supporting the team to deliver confident, creative and strategic media relations.

Alongside shaping news strategy, you will oversee the development of high-quality media materials, support spokesperson readiness and work collaboratively with PR, content, social and brand teams to maximise impact. This is a role suited to someone who combines strong leadership with excellent news sense and thrives in a dynamic, high-profile media environment.

· Significant experience in a fast-paced press office or senior journalism role, with strong examples of generating impactful news coverage

Purpose 

The Living Wage Foundation has an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic team as a Communications Officer. We are looking for an exceptionally motivated and organised individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced, high-profile communications environment.

The role will support the objectives of the Living Wage Foundation and Citizens UK by communicating our work to a wide range of audiences, including senior business leaders and politicians, through a mix of communications methods: social media, newsletters, media outlets, website and internal communications channels. The role will be predominantly focused on work and wages activity through the Living Wage Foundation, but there will be opportunities to support cross-Citizens UK communications activity including for example: campaigns on housing, refugees and more. 

This post will be joining a Communications team that spans media, digital communications, research and events, with colleagues based across the UK with monthly in-person team meetings. 

The post holder will support the delivery of our media and press office activity, including monitoring media coverage, supporting with journalist enquiries, and helping to develop proactive press campaigns to build awareness of the Living Wage Foundation’s work. They will also support the creation of written and visual content across our channels and help monitor and manage our social media presence on a day-to-day basis. The role will work closely to support the Communications team’s work and help communicate the work of the wider-team and our employer network. 

The role is also responsible for key communications with our network of over 16,000 accredited Living Wage Employers, including our monthly newsletters, blogs, videos and case studies to celebrate our network of accredited employers   

The position would suit an applicant with strong written and communication skills, with some experience of working within a communications team and a passion for press work, social media and content creation.  

We don’t expect you to have experience of all areas of this job. Training will be provided to help you develop into this role. 

Main Responsibilities 

Working as a Communications Officer for the Living Wage Foundation, reporting to the Media Manager, your main responsibilities will include: 

Media 

• Contribute to media strategies and plans that help to win public, business and political support for the Living Wage Foundation and its work 

• Write compelling press releases, blogs and opinion editorials to promote the Living Wage Foundation’s work 

• Support story gathering and storytelling development with workers, employers and others affected by low pay and insecure work, ensuring lived experience and employer voices are reflected effectively across media work and wider communications platforms 

• Build effective relationships with the media, colleagues and other stakeholders to find new ways to raise our profile 

• Monitor and evaluate media campaigns and reports

• Maintain and regularly update communications resources, including press contact lists, internal databases and other media materials 

• Participate in the out of hours duty press (being on hand to very occasionally answer emails and phone calls in the evenings or weekends) 

Social and digital media 

• Oversee our digital communications channels to raise awareness of the Living Wage and our wider accreditation schemes, champion responsible employers and grow our movement. 

• Help the team keep up to date with social media trends and opportunities.

• Create, manage and schedule posts for our social media channels including, LinkedIn, Instagram, Bluesky, Facebook and YouTube, tailoring the content to different channels and audiences. 

• Monitor our social media channels, replying to enquiries from the public and our networks of supporters and employers and flagging any potential issues to the wider team 

Content creation 

• Working with the communication team, design and implement engaging digital engagement campaigns for Living Wage Employers and supporters, and to support Living Wage Foundation campaigns.

• Design communications collateral to increase engagement on social media, including creation and editing of short-form videos for our online channels and creation of social media graphics. 

• Improve our digital offering for our network of accredited Living Wage, Living Hours and Living Pension Employers, by creating resources and improving our communications support. 

• Liaise with the Living Wage and Citizens UK team to keep up-to-date with news to share with key stakeholders 

• Collate and summarise content to schedule newsletters and updates for our varied audiences. 

• Support in adoption of updated brand across our communications content and materials, supporting others to use brand and tone of voice guidelines. 

• Sourcing and creating original content for both the Living Wage Foundation and external websites, including creating blog posts, news, guidance and general pages. 

• Auditing and reviewing existing website content to ensure it is effective and up-to-date. Support on improvements and developments where necessary. 

Network communications 

• Drafting email communications to support the experience of our network of accredited employers, including regular newsletters as well as automated email content for new accreditations.

• Work closely with the Operations and Insight team to put in place the communications infrastructure to help our network of employers engage with us online, e.g. utilising our online dashboard for accredited members and creating new resources.

General 

• Administrate and facilitate communications team meetings. 

• Communications support for key events and campaign moments including the annual Champion Awards and Living Wage Week

About the role
We are recruiting for a Senior Research Communications Officer to join on a fixed-term contract for 12 months. This is a home-based role, working full-time, 35 hours per week.

Research is central to our mission and ambition. With a portfolio of more than 100 active grants worth over £50 million, we are committed to accelerating progress and ensuring that breakthroughs in dementia research are clearly understood, widely shared and effectively championed.

As Senior Research Communications Officer you’ll use your understanding of biomedical research and your extensive communication skills to convey complex research content to a range of audiences in a clear and engaging manner. The research content will be both from our own research portfolio and from the wider research field through our Mail Metro partnership and wider media outlets.

You will lead on the coordination and planning of research-related content that we can amplify through our Mail Metro Media partnership, both editorial and social media content, as well as wider proactive research media content across other outlets. You will translate complex biomedical science into clear, engaging and accessible content that informs, inspires and drives influence.

You will also play a leading role in proactive and reactive media engagement - drafting national press statements, developing trade press articles and acting as a spokesperson on research related topics following media training.

Interviews for this role have been provisionally scheduled to take place via MS Teams on Tuesday 31st March and Wednesday 1st April.

About you
Joining us, you will combine scientific understanding with the ability to craft compelling and engaging narratives. You’ll likely have a background in or a good understanding of biomedical research, science or research communications. You’ll have experience in delivering high profile integrated communications plans with good editorial judgement and a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.

Crucially, you’ll have experience communicating complex research in an accessible way to non-specialist audiences and experience drafting press statements and media-facing content. You’ll be able to work both collaboratively and independently in time-sensitive situations and you’ll have the ability to manage stakeholders and advise colleagues at all levels.

Crisis is the national charity for people experiencing homelessness. We have embarked on our 10-year strategy for ending homelessness. We know it is not inevitable. We know together we can end it.

Homelessness is rising fast across Britain, and we are seeing unprecedented demand for our services. At this critical time, we are looking for a talented, experienced News and Media manager to help raise the public and political profile of homelessness, to shine a light on the human impact, and to show how Crisis is working to help people rebuild their lives and leave homelessness behind.

Location: London office based. Working from home is an option in line with Crisis’ Hybrid working policy (you will be required to work from the London office twice a week)

About the role

As News and Media Manager, you will lead a hard-working and experienced team of media experts to bring to life Crisis’ work, using print, digital and broadcast journalism to advocate for the solutions needed to tackle homelessness and inspire the public, businesses and politicians to join our mission to end homelessness for good. You will oversee the development and delivery of high-profile media and communications campaigns, including our annual Christmas appeal, and help to build our brand.

With homelessness at record levels there has never been a more critical time to join Crisis and ensure tackling homelessness is firmly on the news agenda.
About you

You will have significant experience of working in a challenging, fast-paced news and media environment to secure high-profile coverage. You will also have experience of leading and managing individuals or teams and motivating people to achieve objectives and overcome setbacks. The ability to navigate competing priorities and influence senior internal and external stakeholders is essential.

To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate excellent knowledge and experience of working with the media to help secure policy change at a national government level, demonstrate ability to secure high profile consumer media to support income generation and have proven experience when it comes to handling reputational risk. You will also have exceptional news sense, with the ability to take a creative approach when seeking out new media opportunities.

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a creative and dynamic person with a proven track record in creating, delivering and managing digital content across social media platforms to develop, implement and manage strategies to grow our online presence and raise our profile.

You’ll have demonstrable experience across a wide range of social media platforms with the ability to craft engaging content to build a rapport with your audience while continuing to uphold our brand and professional values. You will be managing multiple accounts held by the charity.

You will have experience of using third party management tools to create, plan and schedule content, analysing reach and engagement, and using analytical tools to help make informed decisions about our digital marketing strategies. You will regularly report back to the management team feeding into our wider strategy discussions, making recommendations on future campaigns. 

You will be part of a wider communications team, working alongside the PR & Communications Manager, reporting to one of the trustees, fostering an organisation-wide approach working with all colleagues to ensure a planned, structured and collaborative approach to our communications and marketing planning.
As a small charity, flexibility is key to meet the needs of our shifting priorities and in between delivering and managing social media content – your primary focus –  you will additionally support wider marketing activities with creation of digital content to support charity advertising, support the development of our online (web) content and more general activities across the communications team. While there will be some level of existing experience, training will be provided for anything bespoke.

As part of the role, you will help our UK-based volunteers to develop local social media activities and support them as required. This may involve making recommendations in their approach, supporting content creation and upskilling them to gain confidence in using social media.

The role is remote and the successful applicant can work from a location of their choice, making optimum use of video conferencing and online collaboration tools to connect with the wider communications team.

Some UK travel within the role is expected with the charity reimbursing reasonable UK travel costs where agreed up front and on behalf of the charity. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Own and lead social media execution, from planning through to delivery across multiple accounts and multiple platforms
• Develop content and strategy for new (to IA) and new-to-market platforms
• Develop and deliver relevant content that drives awareness, engagement and conversation in line with IA’s aims and objectives
• Work closely with communications peers, wider staff and volunteers to deliver meaningful campaigns which aligns to IA’s purpose and support model
• Upholding brand and culture in everything you do
• Co-develop policies relating to your area of responsibility to ensure the management of online risks, suitability to content, data protection and safeguarding
• Develop partnerships with key individuals, ensuring strong social amplification and storytelling

PERSON SPECIFICATION

ESSENTIAL

• Experience in developing and implementing social media strategies and content in a similar role for at least 12 months 
• A thorough working knowledge of a wide range of social media platforms
• Third-party applications to manage social media content across a range of platforms in addition to regular reporting and provision of management information to help the team make informed decisions to support the wider charity’s wider digital marketing strategy. 
• Development of engaging and creative digital content
• Experience in social media moderation
• Working with and maintaining effective stakeholder relationships including our trustees, staff, volunteers and external medical professionals
• Digital marketing experience
• Team player 
• Familiarity with UK data protection regulation 

DESIRABLE

• Working knowledge of the Wordpress platform
• Advertising opportunities across social media to expand reach including cost models and budgetary management
• Basic understanding of AI and the benefits of using it within the not-for-profit sector
• Experience of working on sensitive content for people who have experienced acute and chronic illness, been through life changing surgery or those who may be feeling vulnerable or exposed at a difficult time

Interviews will be two-stage for successful candidates. Initial interviews will be held via video conferencing (such as Zoom) discussing previous experience and role fit with successful candidates going through to a second round. This includes alignment to IA’s values. Please allow up to 1 hour for this stage.

Second round interviews are expected to be via video conference. Successful candidates will, at least one week in advance of the second round, be given a short brief and asked to provide sample content (or a clear idea of their marketing strategy) and share their ideas at least 48hrs before the interview. Candidates should be prepared to present their social media ideas at interview and answer any questions from the interview panel. 

Additionally second stage applicants will be asked to provide examples of their own previously created content, at least 48hrs prior to the interview. You should be comfortable sharing past content that you have created previously which will be treated with the strictest confidence. Please allow up to 1 hour for this stage.
