What You'll Be Doing
· Lead the design, development and continuous improvement of engaging STEM and employability programmes, ensuring content remains innovative, relevant and impactful for young people.
· Create high-quality learning resources, programme materials and content for face-to-face, virtual and hybrid delivery, collaborating with colleagues, educators and industry partners.
· Deliver inspiring STEM programmes, workshops and events, confidently engaging young people while providing an exceptional participant experience.
· Build strong relationships with schools, employers and stakeholders, using feedback, data and insight to enhance programme quality, reach and impact.

Who We're Looking For
- Experience in student recruitment, education engagement, outreach, events coordination or customer-facing education roles.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence engaging with young people, teachers and parents.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Experience working with CRM systems such as HubSpot, or the ability to learn new systems quickly.

What's In It For You?
- Salary £27,300 to £32,400 FTE depending on skills and experience.
- Part-time role at 22.5 hours per week (0.6 FTE).
- Fixed-term maternity cover contract from mid-November 2026 to January 2028.
- 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata).
- Up to 10% employer pension contribution.
- Life insurance worth three times annual salary.
Location
- Hybrid working.
- Preference for candidates based in the South, however for the right candidate you could be within commutable distance of any of our office locations - Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham, Welwyn Garden City and Southampton.
- Occasional travel and overnight stays will be required.

Harris Hill are delighted to be partnering with Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis (APF), the UK’s leading patient charity for people affected by pulmonary fibrosis, to recruit a Senior Education and Events Officer.
Salary: £31,000 - £34,500
Location: Hybrid role, with attendance at the charity’s Peterborough office for team meetings, collaboration and other key activities, typically on a quarterly basis, alongside travel to meetings, events and partner sites as required.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced events and education professional to coordinate and deliver APF’s education and events programme for people affected by pulmonary fibrosis, healthcare professionals and wider stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate and deliver patient education sessions across online, in-person and hybrid formats.
- Support the development and delivery of APF’s annual education plan and calendar.
- Work with clinicians, speakers, colleagues and people with lived experience to develop relevant and accessible sessions.
- Host and facilitate education sessions, ensuring a welcoming and positive attendee experience.
- Manage registration processes and attendee communications before, during and after events.
- Maintain accurate attendee, speaker and stakeholder records and ensure effective database and follow-up processes.
- Develop joined-up user journeys so attendees can access APF’s wider support, information, newsletters, fundraising and campaigns.
- Coordinate and deliver APF events, including webinars, conferences, symposia and stakeholder meetings.
- Manage event logistics, including venues, platforms, suppliers, speakers, accessibility and materials.
- Lead coordination of APF’s attendance at external conferences, including BTS, ERS and other relevant sector events.
- Build strong relationships with clinicians, speakers, partners, suppliers and conference organisers.
- Work closely with Communications, Services, Fundraising, Policy and Data colleagues to maximise the reach and impact of education and events.
- Support healthcare professional education activity alongside the HCP Manager and clinical colleagues.
- Track attendance, engagement and feedback, using insight to evaluate and improve future activity.
- Ensure event and education materials are accurate, accessible, up to date and appropriate for different audiences..
We are looking for:
- Experience managing event registration, attendee communications or participant journeys.
- Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders, speakers or contributors.
- Experience using databases, CRM systems, booking platforms or similar tools.
- Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence working across teams and with external stakeholders.
- Confidence hosting or facilitating sessions both online and in person.
- Experience using data, feedback and insight to evaluate and improve activity.
- The ability to write clear attendee communications, briefings and follow-up materials.
- A proactive, practical approach with the ability to solve problems and keep activity moving.
- Good digital skills and confidence using event platforms and databases.
- A commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion, including improving access for under-served and digitally excluded audiences.
Experience within a health, charity, membership, education or patient-support setting would be desirable, as would experience working with clinicians or supporting external conferences, policy events or funded activity.
