Role Overview

The Operations Manager will be responsible for ensuring the smooth, efficient, and compliant day-to-day operations of Glitch, enabling the effective delivery and adherence to policies and regulation for the charity and team. The role holder will be the charity's data protection officer; they will meticulously ensure we remain fully compliant with all relevant charity regulations, maintaining our integrity and trust with regulatory bodies, funders and donors, and our supporters. This role will also serve as the Board Secretary, attending Board of Trustees meetings 4-6 times a year, taking minutes and managing the process of all documentation for the Board. Operations management

• Oversee the charity’s administrative functions, including triaging the general inbox, scheduling team meetings and other ad-hoc administrative work in supporting the ED in running the day-to-day of the charity

About the Opportunity  

This is a great opportunity to join the Food for Life team as an Awards Officer – Education, supporting delivery of the Schools and Early Years Awards programmes. You’ll assess settings against award criteria, provide guidance and support, and help maintain high-quality, consistent programme delivery.

Working closely with the Awards Manager and wider team, you’ll also contribute to engagement and retention activity, use CRM data to support reporting and impact, and share insights to improve the programme.

This role offers valuable development experience in programme delivery, stakeholder engagement, and working with education settings, making it ideal for someone looking to broaden their experience and build confidence in a national programme environment.

The Data and Insights Manager will be responsible for monitoring and evaluating quality and impact across our mentoring programmes. The postholder will work closely with the Programmes Team to embed impact in project design and to produce evaluations that assess the impact of mentoring against our theory of change outcomes. The postholder will complete data analysis and evaluation reports for individual mentoring programmes as well as our whole portfolio to present our impact at an aggregate level. The postholder will produce organisation wide impact reports for external publication and work closely with the senior management and leadership teams to demonstrate and celebrate our impact. This is a varied role, suited to candidates interested in using data and insights to improve processes and articulate impact to a wide range of audiences. 

Responsible for

• Championing and quality assuring our theory of change, ensuring that programmes are designed with impact at the centre and within the frameworks that will give us the most robust data sets
• Quantitative data analysis for individual programmes and our portfolio of mentoring programmes as a whole, clearly presenting our impact against our outcomes
• Qualitative data analysis of mentoring messages, written feedback and focus groups/1:1 interviews
• Producing high quality evaluation reports for individual programmes, including recommendations for future iterations
• Producing organisational impact reports and blogs/posts, to present our impact to external audiences
• Creating and maintaining PowerBI dashboards to present live impact data
• Proofing and testing baseline and exit surveys to ensure accuracy of questions and survey logic across our portfolio
• Overseeing our data collection tools and upskilling the team to use them effectively/accurately
• Overseeing our external communications to ensure regular sharing of case studies and impact stories through our comms and marketing (social media, newsletters etc.)

Role 

PSTT’s long term vision is: Excellent primary school teaching in every primary school in the UK.

The goal of PSTT is to make science more accessible and attractive to children of primary school age throughout the UK. Research has shown that children’s interest in science is shaped before they leave primary school. That makes it vital for them to have a positive experience of science from their early years onwards.

The Corporate Partnerships Manager is responsible for developing and implementing plans to maximise income from corporate partners and trusts and foundations There is huge scope to develop both income streams at PSTT as this is a newly created position with the responsibility for growing and further developing these income streams. 

This is an exciting role for a candidate who wants to grow and shape the income stream, and demonstrate their personal impact on generating income, and providing partners with an incredible supporter experience. There will be an element of change as the organisation embeds an internal culture that effectively supports fundraising. 

This specialist manager role would suit someone who is already operating at a senior fundraiser or manager level, or someone who can demonstrate experience of developing a corporate and/or trusts & foundations pipeline, creating operational plans and delivering income. PSTT is an organisation with big ambitions so a background that includes working within a smaller charity would be helpful for the candidate to have but isn't essential.

The role

Additional information

This is a hybrid role, primarily working from home with occasional travel. The successful candidate will be expected to attend team collaboration days in London approximately nine times per year. There will also be opportunities to attend programme workshops and school visits across the UK, typically around twice per month, with additional opportunities available for those who wish to be more involved in programme delivery and impact. All approved business travel expenses are reimbursed.

Steamship Shieldhall is seeking to appoint an experienced freelance Commercial Manager to build new income streams to support the ongoing operation, conservation and sustainability of one of the country's most significant historic ships.

Shieldhall is berthed year-round in Southampton and welcomes passengers and visitors on board from 110 Berth in the Western Docks. She is capable of carrying up to 220 passengers and from spring to autumn each year operates a programme of public sailings ranging from two hour trips to full day cruises. She is also open for alongside events, and is available for private charters. In addition, she can be hired for use alongside such as for training activities, meetings, functions and filming.

The Commercial Manager will be responsible for identifying and realising new opportunities for revenue generation for Steamship Shieldhall, as well as supporting Shieldhall’s experienced volunteers with maximising income from existing activities.

This commission is an important element of the “Steamship Shieldhall: towards 2055, the next 10 years” project which is supported by a Development Phase grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund.  The appointment is intended to cover both the Development Phase and the first two years of the Delivery Phase of our  project but will include a break-clause between the two phases. The Delivery Phase contract is contingent on a successful Delivery Phase grant application to the Heritage Fund

The successful candidate will have the right to set their own hours of work and will determine in agreement with the Shieldhall charity how best to undertake the work. This commision could be provided through self-employed individual, partnership or limited company.
