We are seeking four additional experienced professionals to join our warm and welcoming Board of Trustees as we look to grow and expand.

What will you be doing?

Our charity is forming as the National Health Service seeks closer integration of services and tighter cooperation between health, local government, local businesses and communities and the voluntary and charitable sector. In our Northwest London patch we are positioning as a voice for the sector, able to respond to, to challenge, to coordinate and partner with the integrated care board. We stand ready to bring to the table projects and streams of voluntary work, acting as a sort of business manager on behalf of community groups and a co-strategist alongside NHS trusts and councils.

This will be an exciting time to join our dynamic and collaborative board as we support the delivery of a broad range of Health and Wellbeing services across North West London. A Brief History of the Spa Theatre Company 

The Company was founded in 1982 as a young people’s group. From 1982 to 1991, there was a Senior Company, but at present the Senior Company is on hold.   

The Advertised Position 

The role advertised is for one person to provide support to the Musical Director of the Junior Company.

The Company is primarily a “teaching” organisation, offering a high standard of teaching in speech, drama, music and dance. 

The Company meets on a Tuesday evening at Aylesford School, Warwick, for tuition and rehearsal sessions.  We also perform a musical at a local theatre, usually in April/May.  

Key Attributes 

The Production Assistant is primarily in a learning and support situation and will be developing their ability to coach and train young people of varying ability.  They must be flexible, and should be prepared to learn from, and assist the Production Team. Candidates must be prepared to undertake a DBS check and safeguarding training (Spa Theatre Company will cover the cost of this). 

Duties 

The Assistant Musical Director will: 

A. report directly to the Musical Director; 

B. take their instructions from the Musical Director;  

C. demonstrate an ability to relate to all ages and to show enthusiasm and encouragement; 

D. help to ensure the safety and well-being of the children attending sessions. 

Remuneration  

The Spa Theatre Company is a Registered Charity for its work in the tuition of young people. This post is a volunteer role, however, we do offer a small honorarium which will reflect the general age and inexperience of the postholder.

We are looking for social media and content creator leads to participate in our community-led working group who are promoting public awareness and support of the project. 

There is opportunity to lead on projects across communications, content creation, social media, PR, newsletters, film, podcasts or any other channels of interest, and facilitate the direction of the working group.

The Comms Circle currently meets fortnightly on a Tuesday evening on Google Meet and spends voluntary time outside of the meeting completing agreed tasks remotely.

As well as an enthusiasm and passion for our work, we are looking for people with the skills to help govern the Trust.Experience of working in a decision-making group is very helpful as well as a good local knowledge of Rotherham and/or Sheffield. You would need to be able to commit to attending our Annual General Meeting (held in October) and at least four board meetings per year, which require some preparatory work..

This is an exciting new role, the purpose of which is to gather feedback from both clients and stakeholder to assess the broader impact of our work.

We are looking for a volunteer to undertake follow up phone calls to clients, this might be after an intervention with them or at intervals after closure. To ensure we a complaint with GDPR, we record consent, and this is stored on our inhouse Client database CRM. 

The volunteer will be provided with a list of questions to ask to gather feedback and would be expected to detail the responses.

As a Client and Stakeholder Feedback Volunteer, you’ll be supporting the day-to-day work of Shelter’s and providing updates on client's experiences. Volunteers are essential to Shelter’s mission to end housing injustice. We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds. The insights and life experience our volunteers bring to Shelter are valued as much as their contribution through volunteering. 

We aim to provide our volunteers with a positive experience. This is by prioritising accessibility and tailoring the support we provide to the needs of the individual. We make sure our policies and processes are equitable, which means that no-one is unfairly disadvantaged while volunteering because of their background or identity. 

Main Tasks include 

• Make follow-up phone calls to stakeholder and clients after they have accessed our services to gather feedback from them. 

• Ask set questions when speaking with stakeholders and clients to see if and how advice has made a difference to them and record their responses. 

• Assessing and adding in quantitative and qualitative data to our client database (CRM). 

• Present the responses in an accessible format e.g. using Word or Excel. 

• Identify key findings and/or trends and discuss with relevant team member(s) 

• Provide insight into improvements for the activities involved 

Skills and experience required 

The aim of the post is to gather information and feedback regarding the service we offer and the impact this has made. Therefore, we are looking for somebody who is:

• Comfortable interacting with stakeholders in person and over the telephone 

• Is considerate of tone and language during interactions. 

• Has good listening skills. 

• Has strong written skills and the ability to take detailed and accurate notes of the discussion whilst on the telephone or in person. 

• Has good IT skills, including experience using MS Office software such as Excel and Forms.

• Structure & Planning: Ensuring each activity has a clear start, middle, and end, with defined goals and outcomes.

• Logistics & Setup: Assisting with the practical setup and coordination of activities, including identifying resources and potential venues.

• Impact Measurement: Incorporating simple methods to track participant engagement, progress, and the overall impact of each activity.

• Resource Management: Helping to ensure activities are designed within our current capacity, preventing overcommitment in our startup phase.

As a trustee, you will play a key role in guiding the organization, providing oversight, and ensuring we continue to thrive and achieve our goals.

​As a trustee, you will:

• Bring a deep commitment to mental health support and have an understanding of the charity’s work.
• Act as an ambassador for Norfolk and Waveney Mind, raising awareness of the importance of mental health and the services we provide.
• Contribute your expertise and insights to the board discussions and decision-making process.
• ​Participate in fundraising and awareness-raising events, should you wish.

We are looking for people who demonstrate:

• A strong understanding of the legal responsibilities and duties of trusteeship.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a collaborative team.
• Good independent judgement, creative thinking, and strategic vision.
• The ability to operate within a flexible and adaptable framework, with a high degree of professionalism and integrity.

Key Responsibilities
​As a trustee, your role will include:

• Ensuring the charity follows its purpose and operates within its governing document.
• Overseeing the charity’s financial stability and ensuring it applies resources effectively.
• Safeguarding the reputation and values of Norfolk and Waveney Mind.
• Contributing to the development and evaluation of long-term strategy and key performance targets.
• Providing guidance on key issues, initiatives, and challenges the charity faces.

Time Commitment and Requirements
​Trustees should be able to commit approximately 10 hours per month, with flexibility for varying demands. This includes attending:

• Monthly board meetings (held remotely or at our Sale Road offices in Norwich).
• Participation in sub-committees (optional but encouraged).
• Periodic training sessions and attendance at all-staff meetings (at least once per calendar year).
• Ad hoc visibility at public, fundraising, and social events.

Volunteering is and always will be at the heart of Cats Protection. It is joyful and inclusive. As a charity, working in partnership, together we transform the lives of cats, people and communities.

The difference you will make to cats and people

As a charity we are able to help thousands of cats each year thanks to the generous donations we receive from members of the public. Our fundraising volunteers use their passion for cats and people to raise the vital funds needed to help more cats and kittens in need. As a fundraising volunteer we want to support you to fundraise in whatever way suits you best, whether that’s organising a fundraising event, fundraising online, promoting fundraising activities on social media, completing administration or supporting the development of new fundraising ideas! Whatever your skill set, this could be the role for you!

This is a really flexible role, you can choose what you’d like to get involved with, for example: 

• face-to-face fundraising. Organising or helping with fundraising events, running supermarket collections and fundraising stands, monitoring collection tins 

• online fundraising. Setting up online appeals and writing impactful cat case studies that maximise donations

• marketing. Spreading the word about our fundraising activities, for example on social media and with the local press  

• completing administration. Processing donations, sorting and recording donated goods, completing Gift Aid paperwork

● championing our work. Getting involved with developing new fundraising ideas and increasing community engagement

● photography. Capturing images of cats in care, cats we are helping, events and all things Cats Protection

Time expectation

This is a flexible role that can fit around your other commitments to suit you. You’ll be part of a team raising vital funds while having fun in the process!
