WHAT’S THE JOB?

As a Campaigns and Student Engagement Coordinator you will be a crucial part of our student voice team. In this role, you'll work closely with our elected officers, staff, and external organisations to facilitate, support, and monitor student-led campaigns, ensuring that every student thrives at Brunel. You will be the driving force behind campaign development, providing guidance, resources, and support to officers and student groups. You will lead on empowering our students and volunteers to improve the student experience at Brunel, and ensure that the impact we are having in this area is effectively monitored and reported upon.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable weather and climate scientist to join us at The Royal Meteorological Society (RMetS) as the Science Content and Engagement Officer.

Reporting to the Head of Publishing and Scientific Engagement, you will have responsibility for developing content which supports the Society’s member value proposition project, our partnerships, publishing and events programmes; and create engaging content for various RMetS activities and stakeholders.

You will support the delivery of the Society’s career strategy working alongside our education team; lead our ECR and Youth special interest group; deliver RMetS early career initiatives such as our career events; and support Society committees and team members in ensuring early career representation and involvement across our programmes of work.

If you have a passion for weather and climate science coupled with a relevant graduate degree or higher, this could be the perfect role for you.

What you will do in the role:

Content Development

· Collaborate on a strategic content plan for a members-only area.

· Identify content gaps and create, or coordinate with volunteers, the development of engaging pieces.

· Curate and preview existing editorial content to ensure a cohesive user experience.

Careers and ECR activity support

· Deliver youth and ECR initiatives across events, mentoring, publishing, and membership.

· Co-manage the Student Ambassador Scheme.

· Participate in ECR and Student Conference Committee.

Engagement activities across the Society’s programmes of work

· Commission journal content with Editors-in-Chief and collaborate with marketing teams to promote journal content.

· Help source speakers and attend Events Committee meetings.

· Support partnership projects, special interest group outputs, climate training, education initiatives, and other ad hoc activities.

Essential criteria you will need to demonstrate:

-       A background in weather and climate, either through:

-       A degree in a scientific field where weather and climate is the predominant subject matter; OR

-       A Master’s degree within a scientific field directly relevant to weather and climate

-       Broad knowledge across weather and climate, and evidence of involvement in activities to ensure ongoing current knowledge across diverse areas.

-       A confident and approachable communicator who proactively engages with a wide range of individuals and builds positive relationships across diverse audiences.

-       Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, professional documentation for external stakeholders.

-       A friendly and open-minded approach, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a small team.

-       Excellent organisational skills including the ability to manage time effectively, balance multiple projects with strong attention to detail.

-       Ability to think creatively, be innovative and embrace new ideas and ways of working.

Desirable skills

We are seeking an experienced, strategic and collaborative Head of Communications and External Engagement to join our Senior Leadership Team and play a pivotal role in shaping Martingale’s external profile, strategic partnerships, and policy influence.

As Head of Communications and External Engagement, you will join our growing senior management team, overseeing several critical aspects of Martingale’s work: communications and recruitment; partnerships and fundraising; and policy and advocacy. Working closely with the CEO, you will oversee all aspect of Martingale’s external communications and engagement to ensure Martingale’s success.

You will set the strategic direction of Martingale’s external positioning, working closely with the CEO on a day-to-day basis to ensure that our communications, partnerships and policy activity is aligned and meeting Martingale’s mission. You will ensure that Martingale’s messaging is consistent, with a bold brand presence and strong collaboration with various external stakeholders including funders, universities, media, and government.

We’re looking for a Communities Development Coordinator to support, develop and grow student-led societies, sports clubs and other communities at Arts SU. This role is all about helping students get involved, whether that’s through joining a student group, planning and running events or stepping up as a student leader. You’ll be the first point of contact for over 100 student groups, providing tailored support, training and advice to help them thrive. From processing finance requests and booking spaces to helping deliver key events like Welcome Fair, Varsity, and Awards, you’ll make sure students and colleagues have what they need to succeed. You’ll oversee student group elections, manage the promotion of opportunities, and work with colleagues across UAL to create inclusive spaces where students are welcomed and engaged.

We want someone organised and approachable, who loves working with students. You should have experience planning and delivering events or projects, and ideally some knowledge of community development in education or the third sector. Good communication skills are key – you’ll be supporting a wider range of student leaders and need to explain processes in simple accessible ways. You’ll also need to be confident working with budgets and able to manage competing priorities. Flexibility and a positive, problem solving attitude are essential, as you’ll often be working on multiple tasks or helping students troubleshoot challenges. More importantly, you’ll be someone who values inclusivity, enjoys collaborating with colleagues and students, and doesn’t mind working the occasional evening or weekend when big events are happening.

JOB PURPOSE

• Engage students to participate in activities and events by supporting and developing student-led societies and sports clubs, volunteering and other student communities.

CXK is the lead provider of Personal Careers Guidance to young people in schools and specialist centres across Kent & Medway, where we provide independent Personal Careers Guidance, via our CXK Young Peoples’ Careers Service.

We provide this through a variety of creative and innovative approaches:

The Team

We are a diverse and welcoming team of advisers, who use a wide variety of creative methods to deliver personalised, client centred, personal careers guidance, ranging from one-to-one sessions through to group guidance, parents and options evenings, as well as focused talks and assemblies. We have minimal admin and keep our clients’ experience central to what we do, providing an inclusive service with individualised action plans, including the use of visual career maps, career cards and white boards, alongside more traditional approaches where appropriate.

We follow the CDI code of ethics and best practice for Action Planning (which names and recognises CXKs innovative work in this area):

The team is led by Chris Targett RCDP, who alongside his work at CXK, is the current Chair of the Careers Writers Association and co-author of the recently released Career Development and Inclusive Practice book, published by Trotman Publishing in partnership with the CDI.

The team is small but impactful. Feedback from our young people, that tell us about what our students valued regards our services:

• Helping young people understand their next steps
• Helping young people understand the options and careers choices they have
• Helping young people to know where to access further help, information, or support

The Role

The Careers Adviser will travel across Kent, Medway, West Kent and Mid Kent Regions to a broad range of school and college settings, delivering creative and inclusive Personal Careers Guidance, as well as assemblies and drop-in sessions as required.

Each student and each learning environment will be unique, so the opportunity lends itself well to candidates who enjoy traveling and working in varied locations, meeting people from diverse backgrounds, and educating people of all abilities.

You will routinely liaise with Careers Leaders and senior school/ college staff to arrange and deliver activities for students during the school day. Whilst most delivery will take place between 8:30am and 4pm, travel before and after these times will be required and occasional attendance at parents’ and options evenings will also be required, but you will be given time off in lieu where this is applicable.

We would require you to work five days-a-week, term time only, with a pro rata holiday entitlement. If you would prefer part-time only employment (minimum of three days a week), this can be negotiated.

Skills and Knowledge

The Resource Futures Education Team has worked over the past 17 years in developing and delivering high quality Education for Sustainable Development programmes, specialising in waste issues.

Your role will be part of the education team in Devon who enable schools and young people to develop more sustainable practices and lifestyles, specifically within the areas of waste reduction, reuse, recycling and composting. 

Our ideal candidate will live in or around the East Devon / Exeter / Teignbridge area, where the majority of delivery will take place, with some home working. For the successful candidate, there may be an opportunity to expand the number of hours you deliver on a short-term basis, dependent on funding opportunities.

What you will be doing

· Develop and deliver high quality education programmes in schools on the 3Rs – reduce, reuse and recycle - and composting, to include: 

o Leading workshops, assemblies and waste audits.

o Advising school staff (including senior staff, cleaners, caretakers, kitchen staff and other non-teaching staff) on educational and practical waste issues. 

o Support or lead school visits to waste management facilities such as recycling centres and energy from waste (EfW) plants. 

· Recruit schools to the programme and ensure bookings, administration and preparation are undertaken to a high standard. 

· Develop new learning and teaching materials to support the programme, including physical and e-resources. 

· Create and maintain effective relationships with Devon County Council, district councils and other relevant organisations. 

· Assist schools in the practicalities of setting up and maintaining their recycling and composting systems, in liaison with district councils. 

· Work in partnership with Devon County Council to run events, competitions and teacher training courses. 

· Develop effective and supportive relationships with primary, secondary and special schools across the Devon area. 

· Keep accurate records of work, including data on schools visited and waste audit results. 

· Monitor and evaluate the programme, including contribution towards the written annual report. 

· Liaise with other Resource Futures colleagues on project tasks, such as publicity and promotion.

· Contribute to the Recycle Devon and Zone websites, School Sustainability Bulletin and social media where required. 

· Help schools to access resources to write and implement climate action plans.

· Keep abreast of new developments and ideas in education, particularly education for sustainable development. 

· Represent Resource Futures at external meetings. 

· Identify opportunities for business development.

The main duties of the role

To deliver the IntoUniversity programme effectively to children and young people in different settings, including schools-based workshops, Academic Support sessions and educational visits. This includes positive behaviour management and adherence to the IntoUniversity safeguarding policy.

• To assist with the organisation and delivery of the Academic Support, FOCUS and Mentoring Programmes.

Job purpose: To lead and develop Remember A Charity’s marketing and communications programme, in line with our core mission of making legacy giving a social norm. This core focus of the role is on growing and engaging our audiences across the charity sector (members and non-members) and professional adviser communities (solicitors, Will-writers, wealth advisers).

The Marketing Manager will also contribute to the development of our consumer PR, marketing and digital programmes, led by the Director and Digital Communications Manager respectively.

• Coordinate quarterly webinars for professional advisers on relevant Will-writing topics, working with internal and external partners.
• Create materials and promotional assets for professional advisers and campaign partners to equip them to advocate for legacies.

Consumers

• Contribute to the planning and delivery of consumer marketing and PR activity.
• Support members in making best use of the consumer-facing assets provided for them to use during Remember A Charity Week and beyond.
