We are looking for a policy adviser to work primarily in our resource stewardship theme to help deliver ambitious leadership for the environment. You will also have opportunities to work on projects in our Legislation & Governance unit.

Using your strong research and strong communication skills, you will contribute to work that shapes the future of circular economy policy and environmental legislation in the UK. Collaborating with colleagues across the organization, including in comms and politics, you will help identify compelling evidence, stories, and projects to drive better use of resources in the UK and will secure support for projects and policy proposals by building relationships with politicians and policymakers, environmental NGOs and community groups, business partners and other stakeholders.

This is a varied role that will also include project management to ensure effective delivery, including ensuring outputs and events are effectively planned and executed to deadline and to a high quality.

You will need to understand, or be willing to learn about, the political and environmental policy contexts we work in and the state of resources policy and wider environmental legislation in the UK.

IT Manager

About the Role 

We are looking for an experienced IT Manager to oversee and develop our IT infrastructure, ensuring our systems remain secure, reliable and fit for the needs of the charity. Following a significant organisational structural change, you will have the opportunity to input into a review of the IT resourcing and will support the implementation of any resulting changes. 

You will be responsible for maintaining and improving our IT and communications infrastructure while delivering an excellent service to colleagues across the organisation. Working closely with your team, external managed service provider and stakeholders, you'll ensure technology enables our staff to provide the best possible support to children and young people. 

This is a varied role combining operational oversight, supplier management, cyber security, infrastructure management and service delivery.

Your key responsibilities will include: 

• Managing and developing the organisation's IT infrastructure across multiple UK sites.

• Ensuring colleagues have reliable IT equipment, connectivity and systems to work effectively.

• Supporting technology that enables young people in our homes to safely access education, communication and online services.

• Leading the IT helpdesk to deliver an excellent customer-focused support service.

• Maintaining robust cyber security, disaster recovery and business continuity arrangements.

About You 

We are looking for someone who combines strong technical expertise with excellent leadership and communication skills. You should have: 

• Experience managing an IT department or IT infrastructure.

• Experience administering Active Directory (on-premises), Microsoft 365 and Azure, including Exchange.

• Experience managing multi-site IT environments and WAN connectivity.

• Knowledge of business continuity, disaster recovery and cyber security best practice.

• Experience managing an IT helpdesk, ideally using SolarWinds or a similar service desk platform.

• Experience leading and developing staff.

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

• Experience managing IT budgets and delivering value for money.

• A flexible approach with the ability to travel occasionally to services across London and the Midlands, and provide out-of-hours support for critical ICT incidents when required.

We're looking for an experienced Communications Manager who can create clear, engaging and impactful communications that help residents and colleagues feel informed, connected and involved in the future of Morden College.

This is a highly collaborative role at the heart of our organisation. Working across teams, you'll help bring our strategy, values and ambitions to life through communications that build understanding, trust and a shared sense of purpose. We are recruiting for qualified counsellor or therapist with experience of working with secondary school children to join our team and deliver our service at The Forest School in Horsham, West Sussex.

We are seeking candidates who are passionate about making a difference to lives of the children they work with. You will provide an ethical, professional counselling service at The Forest School and will establish good professional working relationships with key school staff.

This will include discussion of referrals, managing a session timetable within the school day and agreeing a process for students coming to and from sessions.

You will be required to undertake assessments with parents/carers and counselling sessions with children, complete all associated admin and attend regular clinical supervision and line management meetings.

Key responsibilities

• Run a suitable appointment system flexible to the needs of the school, offering students appropriate assessments and counselling appointments.
• Manage the tight time boundaries of the role and the often complex and varied workload.
• Liaise with school staff over referrals, waiting lists and appointments.
• Carry out initial clinical and risk assessments and establish appropriate referral pathways with other services where appropriate. Continually assess risk throughout each student’s counselling.
• Follow YMCA Dialogue safeguarding procedures; to know who the School’s Designated Safeguarding Officer/s is and how to contact them when a safeguarding concern arises.

You will bring a professional, flexible approach, excellent interpersonal and time management skills, and ideally have experience of counselling children and young people using creative therapeutic approaches. Experience of working within a school setting would be advantageous.

Essential:

• Counselling or psychotherapy qualification at Level 4 minimum; Level 6 or above is desirable – along with two years’ or 450+ hours post qualifying experience in face-to-face individual counselling or therapy with young people (preferred), including experience of working with risk-related issues as a qualified counsellor.
• You will already have a sound understanding of child protection and vulnerable adult safeguarding issues, policies, and procedures.
• You will already have proven experience in safeguarding children and young people, responding to, managing, and referring safeguarding issues.
• You will already have a BACP Membership; BACP Registered or Accredited. Or other professional body e.g. HCPC.

Location: This role is based in Balham. The service is a short walk from Clapham South Station (Northern Line Underground). Unfortunately, this service does not have step free access.

Salary: £28,800

Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Sunday on a rota between 08:00 - 21:30. You may be required to work bank holidays and evenings as required. You may be required to work additional hours outside of the hours to meet service and resident needs.

We're hiring a Complex Needs Recovery Worker to join our team based in Penrose Focus. In this role, you will support residents who have a history of forensic mental health issues with co morbidity, often alongside co-occurring substance misuse disorders. Key Responsibilities Include:

• Support residents who may be facing challenges with forensic mental health issues, substance misuse recovery and practical assistance such as applying for benefits or booking medical appointments.
• Create tailored support plans through one to one sessions, group sessions, and multi agency meetings
• Provide person-centered support to residents, helping them rebuild their lives and transition back into the community.
• Support residents to build skills and confidence and signpost residents to external organisations and services that can aid their recovery, such as drug rehabilitation programs, psychological therapy and social services.
• Monitor residents’ wellbeing, carrying out regular welfare checks, and responding to any incidents or emergencies.
• Build good relationships with residents, offering emotional support and fostering a safe, non judgmental environment.
• Confidently report issues to the police when necessary and work closely with probation officers to ensure residents meet their legal and rehabilitation requirements.
• Create an empowering and enabling environment where individuals are supported to make informed decisions and take control of their own lives.
• Support residents in accessing primary healthcare services, including arranging GP appointments and liaising with mental health professionals. 

About You

We're looking for a genuine passion for supporting people who may have complex needs which includes forensic mental health. You will be a self motivated individual who is able to be proactive in managing your own time during busy or quiet periods to ensure productivity. Experience in mental health or support work is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided. You will be able to work collaboratively as part of a team, and will have alignment with our SIG values. You will be keen to support our residents to achieve their individual goals and support them to be the best versions of themselves. 

• Previous professional or lived experience supporting people with forensic mental health and complex needs, ideally in mental health and residential setting
• Experience working with people with complex backgrounds, including ex-offenders, mental health, substance misuse, or challenging behaviour and an understanding of housing and social needs
• Ability to engage with people from different backgrounds, build rapport, and empower them to achieve their personal goals
• Ability to show empathy and compassion and the different challenges people face; ability to come up with creative solutions to support them in their journey
• Ability to use, learn and adapt to IT at an intermediate level, including Microsoft and other software programs
• Ability and willingness to show flexibility of working patterns, responding to the needs of the service and residents
• Ability to promote the service and provide outreach based provision, with an ability to liaise and work effectively in partnership with stakeholders
• Understanding of the different needs people with multiple and complex needs have and be aware of the social marginalisation that can be attached to people who face personal challenges

Founded in 1860, Providence Row is a specialist homelessness charity working in East London and the City, deliberately operating at the most acute end of the homelessness spectrum.

The charity reaches around 1,200 individuals (annually) with the most deep-rooted needs; people whose interlinking mental and physical health, and trauma and substance use challenges mean they often struggle to access mainstream support. Providence Row provides a wide range of Crisis and Progression services including showers, meals, advice & support, health and wellbeing services, drug and alcohol harm reduction, psychotherapy, a hospital discharge service, and learning, training and work-readiness programmes, amongst others. In 2025/26, we supported 1,270 people through 36,313 tailored interventions.

The successful candidate will have a strong record of securing significant income, identifying new opportunities and building effective relationships with funders, commissioners and partners. The role will oversee the development and implementation of the fundraising strategy and funding pipeline. You will deliver a direct income target for each year, with a focus on the development and tendering of statutory commissioning.

Job description

The Head of Facilities & Safety Governance provides strategic and operational leadership for the Union’s facilities functions, ensuring the delivery of excellent services to students, staff, and the public, while developing these services in line with the Union’s strategies and objectives.

This role holds the professional responsibility for service standards, Health & Safety Governance, budget control, compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements, and clear assurance reporting to the Board of Trustees and Union committees.

This post holder will lead the Union’s Facilities Management service, overseeing external contracts like cleaning, security and pest control. They will ensure full compliance in Health and safety, manage reactive repairs, and guarantee buildings are safe, fit for purpose and in excellent condition providing an outstanding work environment including agile office spaces and excellent commercial and student activity spaces.
