Main purpose of job: The planning and coordination of our virtual event program.

Key tasks include:

· Plan, organise, and manage virtual events, including support group meetings, exercise classes, workshops, webinars and any other events. Please note that you will not be hosting sessions, but organising the team who will do so.

Qualifications and Skills:

· Previous experience in event coordination, preferably in a virtual or online setting preferred but not essential.

· Proficiency in using event management tools such as Trello, Ticket Tailor, and Zoom preferred but not essential. Training will be provided.

· Strong organisational and multi-tasking skills.

A bit about this role

Without the passionate and committed teams of volunteers across Cats Protection we wouldn’t be able to help the thousands of cats and kittens each year that rely on us for help. Life in a rescue environment is never ideal for any cat compared to a loving home. Our Cat Adoption Team Leaders support cat homing and as part of this they may lead a team of volunteer home visitors who collectively play an important part in matching our feline friends with their new families. Our Cat Adoption Team Leaders support their team of volunteers in all aspects of their roles, making sure our volunteers are happy, confident and supported.

What can you expect to be doing?

• Acting as the main point of contact within the branch for cat adoption enquiries via email / telephone and social media
• Supporting the adoption process through either homefinder questionnaires or a small team of home visitors
• Liaising closely with other branch volunteers to ensure information on cats being helped is correct and up to date
• Following up on any post-adoption queries
• Play an active part in the branch committee, being part of the branch team leading on cat adoption information and updates
• Collaborating with the Cat Welfare Team Leader to ensure the highest standards of cat care are applied in line with Cats Protection policy and procedures

Time expectation

The Cat Adoption Team Leader role is vital within our busy volunteer branches and centres. Our current volunteers spend around 10 to 12 hours per week in this flexible role, which can be shared by more than one volunteer if required.

Front of House:

· Meet and greet members, visitors to the Clubs and attend to their requirements as needed.

· Deal with all general membership enquiries, including booking issues, registration information and bookings.

· Set up and administer all club related activities on time booking sheet to include medical information, equipment sizes, all club bookings and event planning.

The Professional Development Programme with Quilombo UK runs over a period of 16 weeks, is UNPAID and requires a minimum of 12 hours commitment per week across Monday, Wednesday and/or Friday.

Chronically Marvellous has grown quickly in the last 6 months, and our Founder Tash needs an administration expert to handle our office tasks. 

The Administrator/Secretary will work closely with Tash, managing all behind-the-scenes paperwork and organisation. They will often be working remotely, but location close to Twickenham would be an advantage for visits to head office. 

What will you be doing?

Issuing Mobility Aids: You will be keeping accurate records of our inventory, who is assigned stock, and responsible for ensuring that we replace stock when needed.

Customer service: You will be one of the contacts for our service users, whether this be for enquiries, for information about events, or to help with philanthropy.

Governance: We are a CIC with the potential to convert to a CIO, so paperwork within this role may be used to support our application (along with the CEO and trustees support).

Events: You will help us to plan events in the area, including our regular support groups, as well as our one-off fun days and training events.

Secretary: You will be the right-hand-person to Tash, who comes up with brilliant, ambitious ideas 24/7 (sometimes too ambitious!) so you would support her in this, as well as being a voice of reason!

The organisation keeps growing and adapting as we learn what our community needs as well as what we can provide, so this role will inevitably grow and adapt too. We would love to have some on join us who has initiative and can take ownership of certain tasks so that Tash can delegate some from her role.

Who are we looking for?

Organisation: You will be a very organised person, who can make order out of chaos! At the moment, our records are in good shape, and we would love to keep them that way. We'd love a reliable person who we know will ensure the integrity of the administration side of the organisation, and someone with initiative to say when a process isn't working.

Administration: You will have experience in a supporting administrative role, where you know what to expecting working in an office environment, as well as remotely. Our organisation's staff and volunteers are mostly in London, as well as across the UK and abroad, so being able to liaise in various formats will help you in this role.

Secretarial acumen: You will work very closely with Tash, who's mind runs about 100mph on most days. There will be ad-hoc tasks required, but within the remit of an administrator.

Fundraising: This role is not a fundraising one, however, every person involved with Chronically Marvellous is expected to assist with fundraising in some way. This could mean sharing social media posts for crowdfunding, attending our fundraising events and helping out, or by directly helping our fundraising team, if that's something you are interested in. 

This is a voluntary position, so we recognise that any time given to us by a volunteer is precious, and for that we are incredibly grateful.

• Commitment & Enthusiasm: A strong passion for changing the law on assisted dying and a commitment to our campaign goal. The ability to inspire and engage others.
• Knowledge on assisted dying: As the role of chair will require much external engagement with relevant stakeholders and the media, in-depth understanding of the subject matter is essential. We are however willing to consider candidates who have a broad understanding but need time to become familiar with the details of the campaign during the Chair elect transition referred to above.
• Strategic Thinking: Strong strategic thinking skills to develop and execute a campaign strategy in collaboration with other board members and small team of MDMD staff.
• Governance skills: Previous experience around not for profit governance.
• Communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to act as a spokesperson for the organisation, in particular towards bodies such as the Houses of Parliament, medical associations, the media etc.

Service: Perinatal Support for Partners Service

This is a service that offers fathers and non-birthing parents, who’s partner is being supported by the West London perinatal mental health service, an evidence-based 1:1 assessment to support their mental health and wellbeing. The service signpost partners to relevant services (including a PSFP peer support group).

Role Description:

To support our PSFP Service with a variety of tasks such as conducting a 1:1 assessment, (which includes onboarding to the service), co-facilitating monthly peer support groups, signposting and helping partners to access other organisations, taking care of our inbox emails and other administrative duties.

Main responsibilities: 

To work closely with our PSFP caseworker supporting referral enquires & service-users in accessing this service. Co-facilitating a monthly peer support group.

 

Tasks:

• To answer emails and enquiries for the service within our service level agreements
• Triage clients for the service through an onboarding process.
• Co-facilitate a monthly peer support group
• Provide support to our PSFP caseworkers, as and when needed

The type of person we are looking for is:

We welcome applications from those completing studies in Psychology, Counselling/Psychotherapy, or any Allied Health Profession with a focus on supporting those with mental health needs.  However, your attitude, motivation, and commitment are just as important as your training/qualifications, or any previous experience. We will review all applications individually and assess them on their unique merits, so do not be discouraged from applying if you do not meet all the criteria listed below. We encourage applications from those with lived experience of mental health problems, as well as those from Black, Asian and minority ethnic communities.

 

Essential:

• An interest in supporting those with mental health needs to access PSFP
• An appreciation of the complex factors that can precipitate, maintain, and exacerbate mental health problems
• Good oral and written communication skills (including listening skills); the ability to communicate in a patient, considered, and empathetic manner
• Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to follow administrative procedures
• A team player who is willing to chip in and work reflexively, responding to the challenges that arise from working in a dynamic environment
• IT skills – able to update spreadsheets, use web-based applications, video-conferencing software, and Microsoft Office applications.

Desirable:

• Customer Service experience, including with friends and family
• Experience of supporting people with mental health needs, in a voluntary, paid, or personal capacity, (i.e., friends and family)
• Previous involvement with local community groups/networks
• Awareness of the cultural barriers that may exist to seeking mental health support

Time commitment and expenses:

• 6 hours per week, during our core hours of 10am - 4pm.

About the opportunity

We are on the lookout for twelve driven and passionate individuals to join our team as Voluntary Marketing Officers. This shared role is designed to devise and execute an all-encompassing marketing strategy to engage parents and schools via various channels. - Deliver persuasive presentations to parents about the benefits of booking tutorials for their children through Exam Star Learner.

Timeline

The strategic planning will commence immediately upon the start of the shared role. The goal is to attract a pool of at least 200 parents to book regular tutorials through the charity’s website within a timeframe of 6 months. However, the timeline may be subject to adjustments.

Work Schedule

This is an unpaid and voluntary role. Each candidate should not work more than 20 hours per week, but there is flexibility to accommodate the needs and schedules of team members.

Person Specification

- Passion for promoting education, reading, and cultural enrichment.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Creativity and proficiency in utilising social media platforms.

- Strong organisational and time management skills.

The Maia Service works with young women and girls living in Newham, Tower Hamlets, Hackney, Camden, Islington and Westminster. The support we provide is delivered through a range of activities, including 1-2-1 advocacy and a programme of group-work and workshops delivered by specially trained members of staff.
