The Unit meets for 2hrs a week either on a Monday or a Tuesday evening in the Swale and Medway area.

Main Responsibilities

Essential Skills

Our client is a registered Charity Incorporated Organisation that aims to support and invest in young people (predominantly 18-25 years old) through their adolescent years which can be difficult because of both personal circumstances and the injustices in society. They fund work nationally, as well as having a specific focus on several counties in the South East of England. The grants they make total c. £3 million per year.
The Trust has evolved a lot over the years and is very much values driven around their mission “to bring lasting change to the lives of young people; investing in them as powerful forces for change and acting upon their right to be heard in pursuit of a fair and just society.” They really want to be a foundation that listens well and gives young people power to change and improve society whilst staying responsible, trusting and progressive. They do this primarily by providing grants to organisations working with young people, influencing youth policy alongside them and investing directly in young changemakers.
Our client is looking for a new Vice Chair to join their inclusive, inspiring and professional Board. The Vice Chair will provide support to the current Chair and additional leadership to the Board. You will bring experience of working with young people or within/around youth led organisations. This individual will be able to be an effective ambassador and will bring an understanding of boards and charity governance, ideally though a previous board role or experience in an aligned role. The Trust provides training and ongoing support, and they looking for someone committed both to the role and to continuous learning.
Most importantly, this individual will be motivated to live the Trust’s values and share their vision of a world where all young people have hope, access to the support they need, a stake in society and influence over their futures. Recruitment for Community First Aiders in the Rugby, Nuneaton, Bedworth and Atherstone area.
No previous experience is needed! We will provide you with all the training for the role and other courses are available for your own personal growth! We have weekly meetings in Rugby, Nuneaton and Bedworth - whichever is more convenient for you!
Candidates from Rugby will be interviewed at our unit in Rugby, candidates from Nuneaton and Bedworth will be interviewed at our unit in Nuneaton. Exact dates and times will be communicated to the successful candidates.
Successful candidates will be invited to atttend our unit meeting nights and an introduction to SJA and the network will be given. Support will be given to get new volunteers set up quickly and straight onto the training course which will be held in late Spring.
A Community First Aider course will be held in May for new volunteers, likely to be held in both Rugby and Nuneaton

About the opportunity
This role involves supporting with events in your local area throughout the year.
There is no minimum commitment for the role. Times will vary depending on the requirements of the event. You will be provided with an event brief beforehand to ensure you are happy with the requirements for that activity.

What is involved

- Passing on any leads to the Community Fundraising team
What we require from you
- Age 18 or over
- Access to your own transport with flexibility to visit various locations
- Polite, confident, and personable manner
- Excellent customer service skills
- Most opportunities require standing for the duration of the session and/or being in a busy environment. Please advise us if you have any concerns about this, and we will do our best to support you.

About YAUK
Youth Advantage UK is a charitable organization that uses a research-led approach to inform policy work and projects that aim to promote and further the human rights of young people aged 11 to 25 across the United Kingdom.
Please note that this is a remote VOLUNTEER role.

We are recruiting two Senior Communications Officers who can operationally lead one of two teams, either the Website Development Team or Social Media Team. The successful applicants will provide direct support and supervision to Communications Officers.
Responsibilities

To oversee a team of communications officers and to support them as required

To oversee performance of team members and provide leadership

To support the welfare of team members and help to contribute towards a positive culture

To carry out communications related tasks as required and to guide the work of others
Requirements

To have previous communications and marketing experience

To have strong communication and people skills

To have the ability to lead and guide others

To have strong IT and digital working skills

To be competent in the use of Canva, Wix and social media
