Job Purpose:
This is a pivotal role in shaping the long-term environmental future of the Petty Pool estate. As part of a 10-year Estate Development Plan, the Woodland, Ecology and Sustainability Manager will lead the design and delivery of an integrated strategy for sustainable land stewardship, ensuring our woodland and ecological assets are managed to the highest standards.
You will serve as the primary point of contact for the local authority planning team regarding ecological and sustainability considerations tied to the estate’s development, ensuring full compliance with planning obligations and environmental legislation. A key responsibility will be brokering opportunities for Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG), working across agencies, partners and internal teams to maximise both ecological value and project impact.
This role sits within the Estates team and supports the broader organisational vision for sustainability, biodiversity, and climate resilience, ensuring Petty Pool is a model of forward-thinking, environmentally responsible estate management.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive woodland, ecology and sustainability strategy in alignment with the 10-year Estate Development Plan.

Act as the lead liaison with the local authority planning department, ensuring ecological and sustainability requirements are embedded in planning applications and delivery.

Monitor ecological health and sustainability indicators, maintaining accurate reporting on key performance metrics including carbon sequestration, biodiversity uplift, and habitat condition.

Support Petty Pool’s broader ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) and Net Zero ambitions, contributing specialist knowledge and operational delivery.

Manage relationships with ecological consultants, statutory agencies, funders, and sustainability stakeholders.

About the role:
As Property Manager & Estate Administrator you will help the Trust uphold the highest standards of property management. Reporting directly to the Head of Estate Management, you will oversee the management of half of the Trust's direct let residential property portfolio of around 160 homes. JOB PURPOSE
The Office Administrator will undertake all administrative support duties, typing, creating letters/templates, maintaining all databases of contact and contractors, filing, and responding and maintaining records to standard enquiries. The role also requires answering the phone and logging calls, checking voicemails, opening mail, creating Notices, and populating the Notice Boards at regular intervals, ensuring the confidentiality of sensitive information, and abiding by Goulden House Co-Operative Ltd GDPR regulations.

MAIN DUTIES
- Resident engagement, taking and responding to residents’ calls, ensuring that all such engagement is documented on the Goulden House Resident Engagement Database
- Updating the Goulden House Registers (Risk Register, Complaints Register, Anti-Social Behaviour Register, Intercom Databases etc)
- Raise Works Orders and Purchase Orders and services on SAGE as per Estate Manager instruction
- Taking responsibility for the Approved Contractor List, ensuring that the contractor’s documentation is correct and current, i.e. Public Liability, relevant Health & Safety certification.
- Liaise with contractors and organising repairs whilst ensuring compliance with the Goulden House Co-Operative Ltd Procurement Policy

- Monitor CCTV daily putting particular emphasis on fly-tippers.
- Updating of Notice Boards across the site
- Inspecting the cleanliness of the Communal Areas twice weekly and signing off of the Cleaning Schedules which are placed in all the Communal Areas, in the absence of the Estate Manager.

SERVICE DELIVERY
- To take a pro-active role in Health & Safety issues on the estate.
- To assist in ensuring the Co-operatives’ aims in relation to customer awareness are achieved.
- To promote a positive image through the development of good working relationships with tenants, lessees, committee members, contractors, Wandsworth Council staff and other agencies.

Legacy Manager (Maternity Cover)

- Administer legacies in a professional and approachable manner, to include correspondence with solicitors and other interested parties

- Act as the point of contact and grow and mature relationships with stakeholders and external groups in order to attain information needed to carry out the role
- Work with various stakeholders on contested legacies, collaborating with other charities where needed

This role is instrumental in advancing our landowner engagement and support services across the Mersey Forest area, in alignment with our long-term strategic plan, to create well-wooded landscapes that benefit people, nature, and a thriving economy.
The Mersey Forest, established in 1991, is a growing network of woodlands and green spaces across Cheshire and Merseyside. Over the past three decades, more than 10 million trees have been planted, transforming the landscape and providing numerous environmental, economic, and social benefits. This initiative has been at the forefront of promoting biodiversity, community engagement, and enhancing the well-being of residents, embodying a long-term vision for urban and rural regeneration. The Trees and Woodland Operations and Strategy Manager will play a critical role in continuing this legacy, contributing to climate adaptation efforts, and showcasing the value of our natural environment to people, nature and the economy, whilst championing the role that we all must play in protecting the natural environment, nurturing a wood culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the development, execution and financial management of the annual Mersey Forest woodland establishment and Biodiversity Net Gain Programmes, developing and managing the delivery of a multi-year pipeline of projects
- Assist in formulating and implementing woodland management plans to uphold sustainable woodland management and conservation practices.
- Provide expert advice to local authorities, landowners, and other stakeholders on woodland establishment, management, and conservation, fostering collaborative relationships.
- Lead an annual multi-million-pound programme of Mersey Forest partnership planting schemes across the Mersey Forest area, ensuring compliance with the UK Forestry Standard and other regulatory guidelines. This includes leading and managing the woodland advisors, operations team and ecologist.
- Work closely with the Mersey Forest Director and various stakeholders, including the Forestry Commission and Natural England, to ensure clarity on the scale of sites requiring regulatory approval.
This position operates within a fully agile working framework, with a predominantly home-based working arrangement and an office base at Risley Moss, Warrington. The role of Trees and Woodland Operations and Strategy Manager presents a significant opportunity for a seasoned professional to contribute to one of the largest natural environment programmes in England, playing a leadership role at the local, regional and national levels.

The Role
