EIA UK is seeking a motivated volunteer to support our Fundraising team as we expand our mass participation events programme. The volunteer will ideally work 1 day a week and for a period of 3 months.

A key focus of the Fundraising team is to raise unrestricted income for EIA, so that the funds raised can be spent wherever the need is greatest. We are now scaling up our involvement in mass participation events to increase brand awareness, attract new supporters, and grow our unrestricted fundraising income and we need your help to do this!

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands on experience in events and fundraising at a leading international environmental NGO — while helping protect the planet for future generations.

As a Fundraising Volunteer, you’ll play a key role in helping us grow our events programme and engage new supporters. You’ll:

• Support the planning and logistics of multiple mass participation events such as Swim Serpentine and the London Marathon
• Steward our fundraisers across all events
• Be a key point of communication
• Assist with digital and on the ground outreach before, during and post event
• Research new events and fill out applications for EIA to participate

Individuals with great communication and organisational skills are encouraged to apply and should have an interest in the environment, a passion for conservation and share the aims of EIA.

Events Volunteers are an essential part of our work for reaching and supporting different communities. Our partners in the community hold events across the UK and your support will help ensure they run smoothly, and attendees have a positive experience! What you will do

Your tasks will depend on who you are supporting and what kind of event they’re running, but they may include:

• Completing agreed tasks on time and responding to any changes on the day
• Engaging with families and sharing your expertise if appropriate (either professional or lived experience)
• Supporting with different areas, e.g. signing people in, helping with directions, sharing information
• Identifying tasks that need doing and any issues that need reporting
• Using your initiative to respond to situations and help out without being asked
• Presenting the National Deaf Children’s Society and our community partners in a positive way

The Events Assistant will support the planning, coordination, and delivery of Hidayah’s events and activities. Working closely with the Events Officer and wider team, this role ensures that all events run smoothly, are well-promoted, inclusive, and aligned with Hidayah’s mission. The ideal candidate is organised, proactive, and passionate about creating meaningful community experiences.

What are the key responsibilities of this role?

This role will have the following duties, but are not limited to:

1. Event Planning & Delivery 

· Support the Events Officer in planning, organising, and delivering a range of events, both online and in person

· Liaise with venues and caterers to confirm logistics, costs, and facilities, ensuring value for money and guest satisfaction

· Manage event listings and guest registrations through OutSavvy, ensuring all attendees have active Hidayah memberships

· Assist with event setup, registration, and on-the-day coordination, providing a welcoming and inclusive environment

· Support with risk assessments, accessibility considerations, and general event compliance

2. Marketing & Communications 

· Collaborate with the Social Media team to schedule and promote events across Hidayah’s social channels

· Create or support the design of promotional materials and graphics using Canva

· Draft event descriptions, newsletter content, and updates for review by the Events Officer

· Coordinate the monthly newsletter, liaising with the Social Media team to finalise and distribute

· Engage partner charities, community groups, and networks to share event information via email and social media

3. Stakeholder & Community Engagement 

· Build and maintain relationships with organisations, partners, and individuals aligned with Hidayah’s mission

· Send thank-you messages to venues, partners, and attendees following events

· Distribute and collect feedback forms, compiling responses to support continuous improvement

· Represent Hidayah at community events and networking opportunities where appropriate

4. Administrative Support 

· Maintain and update the contact database and event records

· Manage the Events Team inbox, responding to or triaging queries promptly

· Attend regular Events Team meetings, contributing updates and ideas

· Track and report on event expenses and participation data as required

What do we expect from the Events Assistant?

Essential: 

· Excellent organisation, communication, and time management skills. - Ability to work independently with minimal support but also as part of a team. - Proactive attitude with strong attention to detail. 

· Confident using (or willing to learn) tools such as OutSavvy, Google Suite (Docs, Calendar, Meet), HootSuite, and Discord

· Familiarity with social media platforms and an understanding of their role in event promotion

Desirable: 

· Experience with Canva or other design tools

How much commitment is required?

This is a voluntary role with flexible hours, and can be carried out around your existing commitments. The role will take approximately 3-5 hours per week (flexible depending on needs and availability).

We are looking to build a pool of friendly, reliable volunteers to support our fundraising events throughout the year. From helping with donation boxes to manning stalls at local events, this is a flexible opportunity to get involved when you can and help us maximise the funds we raise to support animals in need.

Overview of the opportunity

Our branch runs and attends a range of fundraising events across the year, and we rely on volunteers to help make these a success. We are recruiting volunteers to join an events and fundraising pool, who can be called upon when events, collections or opportunities arise.

Volunteer Events & Fundraising responsibilities

Depending on the event, volunteers may be asked to help with:

We are looking for an enthusiastic events assistant to join the team in our exciting new community space! Plateful Cafe is a recently established charity that seeks to help refugees in the surrounding area into employment within the food and hospitality sector. 

We have opened a community cafe selling delicious Middle Eastern food! Our cafe is staffed by people with refugee status and experiences of forced migration who are being trained to work the food industry, as well as dedicated volunteers like you. We will be running regular community events and fundraisers for which we need a team of events assistants to help plan and run.

The role:

- Help organise monthly community dinners featuring three course meals from around the globe to enable the charity to engage with and attract donors.

Charity Champion (volunteer) 

As a Volunteer Charity Champion, you will have the opportunity to support the North West Ambulance Charity team achieve their mission in a variety of different ways to suit you. The NWAS charity are looking for motivated, enthusiastic and passionate volunteers wanting to work flexibly and help contribute to the growth of the charity. The North West Ambulance Charity provides support to the North West Ambulance Service above and beyond what NHS funding can provide.
