The Personal Assistant (Diary & Events) works closely with the Bishops, the Bishop's Chaplain & Executive Assistant and the Finance & Associate PA.
The post-holder will need to have (or be able to quickly develop) a thorough knowledge of the many facets of a Bishop's roles, the workings of the Diocese of Liverpool and the Church of England more widely. As well as having excellent organisational, administrative and diary management skills, the post-holder must have the capacity to respond quickly often working independently and calmly to rapidly changing circumstances and effectively manage competing demands.
This role demands initiative, discretion and creativity. It is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, is passionate about the Church's mission, and is confident in managing both strategic and operational responsibilities. It requires someone who is proactive and can organise their work so that they are one step ahead in order to anticipate issues and influence positive outcomes. The post holder will also be an excellent communicator, able to handle difficult conversations and be highly collaborative in order to build highly effective working relationships with a wide range of individuals and organisations.
The role will be primarily based at Bishop's Lodge, Woolton Park, Liverpool. There is a requirement to be flexible and, on occasion, to work from the diocesan office at St James' House.
These relationships will be vital as everyone in the bishop's office must have a good awareness of each other's work and the capacity to allocate tasks and support each other's workstreams according to the particular demands. Holidays must be agreed between staff to ensure that the office is well staffed. The PA (Diary & Events) will not normally be away from the Office or on holiday at the same time as the Finance & Associate PA.
Any given day is varied and therefore likely to produce a range of demands both foreseen and unforeseen; the Personal Assistant needs the flexibility and initiative to respond appropriately as and when matters arise. The following are, however, the focal responsibilities of the role:
Diary Management
Working with the Bishop's Chaplain & Executive Assistant, to have overall responsibility to plan, organise and coordinate all elements of the day-to-day diary management for the bishops and the Bishop's Chaplain. This includes but is not limited to:
- Book, manage and adjust appointments, engagements and meetings.
- Organise the diary and schedule the bishops' day in a way that enables and sustains their ministries.
- Take the lead on making travel and accommodation arrangements
- Ensure the bishops have all necessary paperwork or information in advance of meetings or engagements
- Liaise with parishes, clergy and all key stakeholders both internal and external where required.
- Be pro-active in drafting appropriate responses to all requests and invitations.
- Protect the bishop's diary by setting criteria to manage all diary demands including pushing back on requests to ensure that the number of commitments is sustainable.
Administrative and operational support
- Managing the administration for Readers in the diocese including liaising with the Diocesan Team and the Warden of Readers.
- From time to time as and when required to serve as clerk to the meetings held by the bishops and to take notes, co-ordinate agendas, actions and follow-ups.
- Oversee the maintenance of the Clergy Personal Files ensuring that they are up to date and stored and organised correctly.
- Collaborate with the Bishops' Chaplain & Executive Assistant and other members of the team to provide administrative support to enable the smooth running of the Bishop's Office and is also crucial to the Bishops' work.
- Develop and maintain highly effective electronic and paper filing systems, data, databases, and other records storage in line with Safeguarding and GDPR principles.
- Undertake other appropriate duties as commensurate with the role as requested by the Bishop
Lead on planning and delivery of events, both large and small, hosted by or involving the bishops as required and share in welcoming visitors to the Bishop's Office.
Plan, coordinate and manage logistics, invitations, guest communications and event materials, liaising with both internal and external contacts and be the lead contact for such events.
Ensure events reflect the bishops' priorities and are delivered with professionalism and warmth.
Build excellent working relationships with all those with whom the Bishops come into contact by responding to a wide range of enquiries in a warm and friendly manner, either in person or by directing enquirers to the appropriate sources of information.
Establish, maintain and improve ways of working and consistent information flow, including liaising with the bishops' staff, Diocesan Offices, other bishops, external civic contacts, dioceses and clergy nationally; the Bishoprics and Church Commissioners.

Join our friendly Wales team as our Office Manager and Executive Assistant. This is a vital role for our team, helping is to make a real difference in Wales. We’re looking for someone who can support our busy team, able to undertake key administrative tasks for the team and office. As Executive Assistant, you will manage a complex and demanding diary, triage correspondence, draft official letters - including end of curacy letters - and ensure the Bishop is thoroughly briefed and prepared for every meeting, service, and visit. Alongside these core responsibilities, you will support the Bishop in matters relating to CDM cases, complaints, and safeguarding processes, working sensitively and with absolute discretion. You will also administer lay licences and authorisations, coordinate travel, provide hospitality to visitors to the Bishop's House, and take minutes as required.
The role demands someone who is highly organised, calm under pressure, and able to work with warmth and professionalism across a wide range of relationships - from colleagues at Church House to clergy, parishes, and external bodies across the county. An understanding of, and sympathy with, the Church of England and its structures would be a real asset.

Job Description
As a senior member of the Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity (BWHC) Fundraising & Marketing team, your main objective is to lead the development and management of our community fundraising programme to maximise income to meet annual targets.
You will play a vital role in stewarding effective relationships to maximise support from our existing supporters and crucially, for driving new donor acquisition to ensure the sustainability of our work. Developing our community fundraising programme is essential to our income base and profile. Central to our work is supporting our volunteer fundraisers, driving participant numbers for challenge events, recruiting and engaging volunteers to help raise awareness of the impact of our hospitals across Bristol and Weston. Crucially, delivering on our 2025-2030 strategy alongside the rest of the Fundraising and Marketing team will be a key part of your role.

Key Accountabilities
Community & Events Fundraising
- To maximise fundraising income by managing and delivering overall recruitment and stewardship of fundraising groups, individual supporters (including in memory fundraisers and funeral collections), ambassadors and volunteers
- To develop and manage the team, empowering them to deliver the BWHC ‘In Aid of’ strategic plan, focussing on expanding the network of supporters who fundraise for and are happy to represent BWHC externally

Leadership & Management
- To provide strong leadership and management to the Community Partnerships & Events Fundraising Officer, Community Partnerships & Event Assistant and Volunteer Officer to ensure they are encouraged and motivated to perform at their best, fulfil their role and achieve agreed targets/KPI’s.
Strategy and Planning
- Contribute to the development and review of Fundraising & Marketing strategy.

About the Role
This is a key support role within the Foundation, providing high-quality coordination and executive support to the Strategy, Impact and Innovation and Income directorates.

Your role

You will partner closely with the Ambassador & Advocate Manager, who is responsible for operational planning and delivery of events across War Child.
This role requires a strategic thinker who is comfortable building trusted relationships with high-net-worth individuals, C-Suite level executives, philanthropists and senior event volunteers and advisors, managing multiple priorities, and operating confidently in a high-profile environment.
Your responsibilities
- Lead the development of the philanthropy team’s high-value events portfolio, ensuring events are strategically designed to support cultivation and stewardship goals, including those hosted by Global Ambassadors.
- Advise the Head of Philanthropy on the development of War Child’s high-value events strategy, identifying opportunities to enhance impact and income.
- Work closely with the Head of Philanthropy and Philanthropy Lead to deliver income targets, contributing to wider team strategy and planning.
- Act as the team’s subject matter expert on high-value events, setting clear objectives and KPIs to measure success over time.
- Build and manage relationships with high-net-worth individuals involved in events, including event committees and advisory boards. Identify and progress prospects to develop long term, high-value relationships, progressing event attendees through the major donor pipeline.
- Represent the team at events, building relationships, identifying new opportunities, and ensuring a high-quality donor experience.
- Use Salesforce to provide donor insights and guidance on high value events, including guest list management, briefings evaluations, and development of data dashboards to inform future event strategy track attendee journeys, and assess long-term value.
- Working closely with the Research & Insights Manager, to produce high-quality, post event evaluations using an insights led approach to continuously improve philanthropic events.
- Ensure philanthropy messaging and donor experience at events reflect War Child’s values and impact.
- Collaborate across War Child UK and the War Child Alliance building strong internal working relationships that benefit the high-value events strategy.
- Engage senior leadership, trustees and key external stakeholders in high-value events where appropriate, providing briefings and strategic advice to maximise their effectiveness.
- Represent the Philanthropy function in cross-organisational projects, helping to shape strategic initiatives that strengthen philanthropic engagement and provide inspirational departmental leadership.
- Provide first-rate line management to the Philanthropy Assistant, modelling excellence in management that will result in line reports thriving in their role, with high standards of performance and behaviour.
- Monitor progress against income targets and contribute to accurate forecasting, reporting and budget planning.
- Contribute to organisational learning by capturing insights from event attendee interactions, staying up to date on sector trends and proactively identifying new opportunities.
- Champion best practice in fundraising, data protection, and donor care, ensuring compliance and ethical standards at all times.
- Always maintain an up-to-date knowledge of current activities of War Child and be an advocate of the War Child brand.
- Responsible for creating a culture committed to the safeguarding of children, and adults and compliant to War Child’s Safeguarding and PSEAH (Protection from Sexual Exploitation, Abuse & Harassment) policies.

Duties and key responsibilities
Fundraising Support
- Provide administration and operational support across the fundraising team.
- Respond promptly and professionally to fundraising enquiries via post, email, and phone, offering support, guidance and thanking donors and fundraisers.
- Develop excellent and enduring relationships with current and potential supporters.
- Send fundraising materials (including t-shirts, information packs, etc.) to supporters.
- Support challenge event fundraising by stewarding fundraisers, providing logistical support and administrative duties.
- Support the delivery of community campaigns, concentrating on the innovative fundraising elements, and providing stewardship to fundraisers.

- Work with the database and fundraising teams to evaluate and analyse fundraising activities.

Stock and Online Shop
- Monitor Sarcoma UK’s online shop, and ecommerce platform. Ensuring it is regularly updated with accurate product listings and that orders are processed efficiently, meeting supporter expectations.
- Assist with maintaining external storage unit and keeping records of the contents.
- Liaise with suppliers, process orders, and ensure smooth fulfilment of orders.
- Research and create new merchandise and fundraising materials, keeping up to date with new trends and ensure offering is fresh and innovative.
Other
- Maintain accurate and up to date supporter records on Sarcoma UK’s database (Raiser’s Edge).
- To undertake all duties in line with the Sarcoma UKs policies, procedures and regulations ensuring that the work.

Role Purpose
GDI Hub CIC is seeking an experienced PA/ Team Assistant to provide high-level support to its CEO and Academic Director as well as support the wider team.
The successful candidate will enable the CEO and Academic Director to be more effective by providing proactive administrative, communication, and operational support. The role will act as a key coordination point across the organisation, ensuring priorities are managed, diaries are coordinated, and that the CEO and Academic Director’s time is used strategically.
