Role Details: 

Join us for a wonderful evening of music at Ralli Hall in Hove, where the Brighton & Hove Concert Orchestra will perform a programme of film and theatre favourites with their 50-piece orchestra. 

We’re looking for friendly and enthusiastic volunteers to help collect donations before and after the concert using both donation buckets and card machines. 

Whether you're looking to support a great cause, meet new people, or gain experience for your CV, we’d love to have you on board. No previous experience is necessary – just a positive attitude and a willingness to get involved. 

Availability: Flexible shifts available between 6:30 PM – 10:00 PM

What we're looking for

We're looking for enthusiastic, creative and organised people from all over Northern Ireland to be a Community Fundraising Volunteers. Around 90 per cent of our income comes from our supporters and we couldn't continue doing what we do without them. That means, our community fundraising volunteers play a really important part in rallying people together to raise vital funds which help to protect children and prevent abuse.

What you'll do

You'll volunteer without regular time commitments, ‘as and when' volunteering! Engage with the public, organisations and local communities – promoting a positive image of the NSPCC! You'll be a valued part of one of our Volunteer Community Fundraising Teams in Northern Ireland, raising awareness and funds. We appreciate that work, family and friends come first and, with that in mind, this role offers flexibility to fit in with your lifestyle.

Exciting opportunity to host/present the gala awards ceremony of the World's biggest sustainability film fest & awards at one of London's iconic venue, Curzon Soho.

Awards night on 7th Nov between 2.30-6.30pm.

Job description

We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic and organised individual to be part of our events team as Host/presenter for the awards ceremony. Preferably London based or based close to the capital to keep travel minimal.

The role will provide you the opportunity to:

• Host/present the world's biggest sustainability film event of its kind welcoming media, film and TV celebs and OSCAR/BAFTA winning celebs and guests
• Chance to promote the work of inspirational creatives to millions
• Opportunity to network, connect and collaborate with leaders, changemakers, filmmakers and celebs.

If you have experience of presenting /hosting events and awards/on stage experience then this is the role for you.

As host and presenter you will host the world's biggest sustainability film fest & awards:

– Front/host/present sections of the black-tie gala event/award ceremony at one of London's iconic venue to an audience of ~300 people. 

– As an awards host you will make sure that each winner and guest of honour gets the time and attention they deserve onstage. By structuring the event with your script, keep proceedings on time and well-paced, to maintain the audience's attention during the event

–  Be available for rehearsals before the event and ensure the event runs within the specific timescale.

– Work closely with our exec team to understand the event objectives and delivery outcomes for the event
– Work closely with the event team staff working on the event with you on the day to deliver a successful event
– Get briefed by organisers and do dry runs online to ensure consistency of tone and content
– Be punctual, professional and well presented
– Require charisma, showmanship, having a comic angle (preferable), loving the limelight and interacting with new people to host our event.

What difference will you make?

At least 85% of people who first came to learn about the UN SDGs via the film festival were not aware of those at all, until now! This can give you an idea of the need for this initiative to educate the common man about the UN SDGs, its significance and the importance of inspiring them to act on the UN SDGs.

Your initiatives will ensure that the film festival gets even more notoriety and visibility, thus improving its ability to educate more people about the UN SDGs, boost the festival's public profile, increase the festival's participation, and enhance the support from individuals and organisations.

Lead small groups on tours to the Vulcan, sharing its story and legacy. Be the face of the Vulcan experience!

Key Tasks:

• Chaperone visitors safely to and from viewing areas around the aircraft.

• Deliver scripted or informal talks about the aircraft’s history.

• Answer questions and encourage interaction.

• Assist visitors in locating their names under the aircraft.

• Assist with safety, information points, and general guest experience.

Skills Required:

• Confident public speaker or comfortable engaging with groups.

• Interest in aviation or history desirable but not essential (training provided).

• Reliable and friendly.

What's Involved?

We’re looking for friendly, enthusiastic volunteers to support us at two exciting events. You’re welcome to get involved in just one—or both, if you’re available.

Role 1: 'Mile with a Mascot’ Event Volunteer

• Volunteer time: Around 10:15 AM – 12:15 PM
• Event time: 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM
• Location: Along the event route

What you’ll be doing:

• Helping to guide and cheer on participants
• Bringing energy and encouragement along the route
• Chatting with families and interacting with our mascots
• We also need one volunteer to dress up as Alex the Acorn – you can either walk the mile or stay in one spot to wave and cheer

Role 2: Match Day Collection Volunteer – Walsall FC

• Volunteer time: Around 1:00 PM – 5:30 PM
• Event: Walsall FC v Tranmere Rovers (Kick-off 3:00 PM)

What you’ll be doing:

• Supporting our fundraising team with bucket collections
• Helping at the Acorns Tombola Stand
• One volunteer will be needed to dress up as Alex the Acorn again

We’ll provide a match ticket, water, and free car parking

Volunteer Walsall FC Match Day Takeover - 20th September

What we're looking for

We're looking for an enthusiastic, creative and organised person local to Swindon to lead our Festival of Trees event over the festive season. We appreciate that work, family and friends come first and, with that in mind, this role offers flexibility to fit in with your lifestyle. You only need to commit between August and January, a few hours a week.

WWF-UK’s Great Wild Walks are inspiring fundraising events set in some of the UK’s most beautiful landscapes. As a volunteer, you’ll play a vital role in making these events a success—supporting walkers, cheering them on, and helping raise crucial funds for WWF’s global conservation work.

Volunteer Roles

Roles are assigned on the day, but here’s what you might be doing:

• Event Village Volunteer: Greet participants, hand out t-shirts and medals, support recycling stations, and help create a welcoming atmosphere.
• Route Marshal: Guide and cheer on walkers along the route, ensuring they stay on track and feel encouraged.
• Back Marker: Walk the full 10-mile route behind the last participants, offering support and removing signage as you go.

Glow Walk returns for 2025, our shiniest event! Participants don their brightest gear, fairy lights and glow sticks and take on our 5km course in aid of Acorns. 

This event is accessible to all and there’s loads of extra fun in the event village.

At Acorns we provide care and support for life limited or life threatened children and their families. We are a charity, and our fundraising is vital to enable us to continue providing care and support to the children: it costs around £11 million a year to run our care services.

What's involved?

We are looking for volunteers who can support with;

Based in either our Main Gallery or Stables Gallery, the role is integral in providing a high-quality visitor experience by bringing our gallery spaces to life by welcoming and engaging visitors, as well as sharing your passion and the stories of our exhibitions.

Tasks and Responsibilities 

• Welcoming and engaging visitors in a warm and friendly manner 
• Interpreting our gallery spaces, exhibition content, the Richmond Borough Art Collection and the gallery’s history for all ages and abilities
• Being a visible presence in our galleries, ensuring everyone's safety and the security of our exhibitions
• Guiding visitors around the gallery and wider site
• Monitoring visitor numbers and contributing to evaluation initiatives

Training and Support 

We will provide training and an induction which covers all aspects of the role. On-going support and supervision will be provided by staff throughout your time with us. We offer a tour of our exhibitions with the artist(s) or a member of staff prior to their opening. This will give you a first hand insight into the concept, processes and artist’s vision behind the exhibition.

Availability

Location 

This role is based at Orleans House Gallery, in either the Main Gallery or Stables Gallery. 

Expenses 

We will cover travel expenses up to £17 per day.

Hertfordshire’s Family Centre Service brings children’s centres, health visiting and school nursing together, to provide a more joined-up service for children, young people, and their families.

The centres deliver a range of support groups and activities for children and their families to help them be healthy, grow and develop. Main Tasks/ Responsibilities/ Activities

To support Public Health Nursing teams by helping parents use baby weighing equipment in a welcoming and safe environment.

Key Responsibilities:

· Welcome parents, carers, and babies to the self-weigh session in a friendly and approachable way.

· Explain how to use the weighing equipment safely and accurately (training provided).

· Support parents to record their baby’s weight on growth charts or apps as appropriate.

· Ensure the weighing area is safe, clean, and ready for families to use.

· Provide reassurance and encouragement to parents and carers.

· Signpost any questions or concerns about a baby’s health or development to a Family Centre staff member

Skills / Abilities / Experience / Qualities

· Friendly, patient, and approachable.

· Confident in supporting parents to use simple equipment (training given).

Asian MS is a national support group that offers tailored and culturally-sensitive services for Asian people with MS, their carers, friends and family. It's aimed at people whose heritage originates from South Asia.

As an Asian MS Community Engagement Volunteer you will the Group's local representative, helping us to find and attend events and reaching out to your local Asian MS community to raise awareness and extend the reach of the Group.

This role is very flexible, but there will be planning time (with your staff contact) and also attending events, meetings with networks and presentations. We would estimate the role taking no longer than 10 hours per month.

You’ll have support from a member of staff as well as a welcome and induction checklist which lists what resources are available to support you in your role.

As part of your role, you may have to complete some mandatory learning. Please refer to your welcome and induction checklist.

About you

Presentation Skills, confidence in speaking to new people, networking skills and the ability to influence would be fantastic. We would work to your strengths, however and some training will be available.
