We’re recruiting an Events Coordinator to help run our city-centre climate action hub, called Imagine Leeds. Imagine Leeds is an innovative venue where people come together to plan and take action on climate, nature and social justice. It is part of the Climate Action Leeds Network, which was established in 2020.
This post is part of a three-year funding package of £493,000 to support community climate action in Leeds. The funding comes from the National Lottery, Leeds Community Foundation, Bunzl, the University of Leeds and North Star Coffee Roasters. Climate Action Leeds is run by a partnership made up of Voluntary Action Leeds and Leeds Love It Share It CIC.
We are looking for a hard working person who is experienced in organising and delivering events, so we can run an engaging series of events on topics relating to sustainability and social justice.
The successful candidate will help coordinate the day to day activities at Imagine Leeds. The venue provides space for events, meetings, co-working, exhibitions and networking. The successful candidate will contribute to the effective running of this well-loved venue, ensuring that it can continue to serve Leeds’ vibrant community of changemakers and facilitate engagement with thousands of people across the city.
Key outcomes for this role are:
- Bringing together a range of people and organisations to contribute to our mission imagining (and then creating) a more sustainable Leeds, that is zero carbon, nature friendly and socially just.

Organising a minimum of 1 event each month, attracting at least 20 attendees.

Contributing to the smooth and professional running of Imagine Leeds to help build its reputation as a valuable institution for the city.

Supporting the mission to find a permanent home for Imagine Leeds.
Duties and responsibilities
In the course of their duties, this post will require joint working with other members of the Imagine Leeds team. Duties may change as the post and programme progresses. Any changes will be discussed with the postholder.

Events organising

Organising regular events at Imagine Leeds to bring people together to discuss the future of the city.

Facilitating events in a way that encourages everyone to feel safe, welcome, and able to take part effectively.

Widening participation so that people from a variety of backgrounds are able to get involved in Imagine Leeds events.

Communications and displays

Promoting Imagine Leeds and its events through a variety of communications channels including websites, mailing lists, social media, posters and leaflets.

Contributing to the design and production of displays that help people understand how the city works today, and imagine a more sustainable future.

Venue support and evaluation

Supporting people using Imagine Leeds for their meetings and events, including tech setup, accessibility and inclusion, and opening and closing the venue.

Ensure ongoing monitoring and evaluation of Imagine Leeds and its users’ activities in the venue.

Facilities and operations

Helping to take care of Imagine Leeds to ensure the venue has a professional look and feel, including tidying and cleaning, and offers a supportive environment for space users.

Sharing responsibility for the security of Imagine Leeds, including its equipment, stock and facilities.
- Helping to improve the systems and processes used at Imagine Leeds, to ensure smooth operation and satisfaction of key stakeholders, regular users and visitors.

General support and duties

Attending team meetings, Imagine Leeds Steering Group meetings and programme-wide meetings and events.

Providing information about Imagine Leeds for reports and funding bids.

Event & Engagement Coordinator
Remotely based in North West England with one day a week based in Manchester office. 9‑month fixed‑term contract / placement.
Job Purpose:
To plan, coordinate, and deliver a range of local events across North West England, ensuring each event is well-organised, inclusive, and engaging for local communities. The Local Event & Engagement Coordinator will collaborate closely with partners, local authorities, suppliers, volunteers, and members to deliver high-quality, unique and memorable experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
· Event Coordination
Plan and manage logistics for a variety of local member events, making sure all events are accessible and attractive to both existing and potential members.
· Liaise with relevant external and internal contacts such as venues, suppliers, CSSC’s ticketing platform, Head Office departments, and volunteers.
· Complete all relevant compliance work such as risk assessments and public liability checks.
· Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring value for money and accurate financial tracking.
· Oversee event setup and breakdown where applicable, managing on-site logistics and resolving any issues on the day.
· Recruit and coordinate volunteers to assist with events.
· Evaluate event success through feedback, data collection, and post-event reporting.
· Digital Engagement
Promote events via social media, email campaigns, posters, and local press in collaboration with marketing teams.
· Manage and grow the North West’s CSSC TikTok presence, including content planning, filming, editing, posting, and community engagement.
· Create engaging, on-brand short-form video content tailored to target audiences.
· Monitor performance metrics and use insights to optimise content strategy and increase reach and engagement.
· Stay up to date with emerging social media trends, tools, and platform updates.
Key Skills & Experience:
Essential:
· Proven experience in planning and delivering events.
· Strong organisational and time-management skills.
· Ability to manage budgets and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
· Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
· Flexibility to work evenings and weekends when required.
· Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the region.
· Ability to analyse member insights to inform event planning and attract potential new members.
· Ability to work collaboratively with regional teams to support membership growth and positive member experiences.
· Ability to build rapport with volunteers and identify the support needed for successful event delivery.
· Confidence in using IT systems and ticketing platforms to promote events across appropriate channels.
Desirable:
· Experience working with community groups, charities, membership organisations or not for profits.
· Knowledge of health and safety and safeguarding procedures.
· Familiarity with marketing or PR for events.
· First Aid or event safety training.
· Previous experience with ticketing platforms or willingness to learn.
· Understanding of how comms and events align with one another.
· Data literacy or willingness to understand some basic data analytics

Global Programs Events and Project Coordinator
Job Overall goal: Support the delivery of global events and the creation of a range of content, ensuring both align with the charity’s objectives, including activities designed for a global audience.
Job Location: Remote working, with the ability to attend on-site meetings in Milton Keynes (MK19) ideally once a month.
Hours: This is a full-time position (37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday) offered on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

Job summary
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive individual to join our team. This role focuses on supporting the administration and delivery of events, ensuring smooth coordination, logistics, and a high-quality participant experience. It also includes stakeholder management, maintaining clear communication and strong relationships with attendees, partners, and internal teams. In addition, the role contributes to content development (both print and digital), and supports the contextualisation and translation of resources for global audiences.
Key Responsibilities:
Event Planning and Support
- Assist in the planning, coordination, and delivery of event logistics.
- Liaise with stakeholders, including vendors, venues, and service providers, to ensure high-quality event delivery.
- Manage delegate booking systems, taking ownership for providing prompt and professional support to attendees and stakeholders via phone, messaging and email, and delivering excellent delegate care throughout events.
- Maintain and regularly update registration systems and databases, ensuring high levels of accuracy and data integrity.
- Provide on-site event support, including set-up and liaising with AV and logistics teams to ensure smooth execution.
- Support campaign and project planning, including tracking content-related budgets for approval.
- Maintain and update event timelines and the global content calendar, ensuring progress is accurately reflected.
- Assist in the planning and delivery of special event elements (e.g. consultancy clinics).
- Monitor and track project costs, ensuring value for money.
- Process and input event-related receipts and expenses, supporting accurate and timely monthly accounting.
- Use initiative to flag any risks to project delivery, supporting timely resolution.
- Support wider projects across programmes and charity operations as required.
Communication & Content Delivery
- Assist in the creation of event materials, including digital resources, workbooks, email campaigns, websites, and related content.
- Provide administrative and practical support to event personnel in global locations as they deliver our programs.
- Assist in repurposing content into multiple formats to support wider reach and usability.
- Support the preparation and distribution of monthly comms emails.
- Assist with proofreading and formatting event content.
- Support the development and maintenance of an online training portal for specific programs.
- Follow established brand guidelines to maintain consistency in tone, messaging, and visual identity across all content.
Cultural Adaptation & Coordination
- Assist with the localisation of content to ensure materials are culturally appropriate, assisting communication with translators and stakeholders to help adapt resources for different cultural contexts.
Evaluation & Reporting
- Assist in tracking the performance of content and programs through data collection, feedback, and engagement analytics to support evaluation of effectiveness.
- Support the preparation of content and project reports, including metrics and evidence required for various audiences.
General & Organisational
- Actively contribute to team meetings, planning sessions, and creative brainstorming.
- Occasional evening and weekend work and travel may be required for event support.
- Any other duties as required.
Occupational Requirement
The candidate must have an active Christian faith. By virtue of the job’s involvement in faith-sensitive work under Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010, the post-holder must be an active Christian with a genuine personal faith in Jesus, grounded in Scripture and reflected in their everyday life.
Experience (Essential):
- Have experience in a church/charity or professional environment.
- Strong understanding of and commitment to the Foundation’s mission, with an understanding of the Church scene.
- A genuine passion for advancing the gospel through the global Church, with a commitment to supporting both Christian givers and churches and charities.
- The ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.

- Demonstrated creativity and the ability to translate ideas visually, demonstrated via portfolios, academic work, or volunteer projects.

Experience (Desirable but not required):
- Some experience supporting events.
- Administrative and customer service experience.
- Some experience producing content creation across print and digital formats.

- Experience using design software e.g. Adobe and Canva.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience (Essential). We welcome applications from graduates who are eager to learn and develop in the role.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with content creation software, CRM systems, and email marketing software (Desirable).
