Parkinson’s UK works with health and social care professionals to transform Parkinson’s services across the UK. 

We do this through the Parkinson’s UK Excellence Network (PEN), a network of over 7,000 health and care professionals with a shared vision: to build an expert Parkinson’s workforce and improve health and care services for people with Parkinson’s.

We bring together and support health and care professionals to share best practice, network and collaborate, share resources and education, and drive improvements to services for people with Parkinson’s and their loved ones.

To help us deliver our strategic aims, we are looking for a person with lived experience of Parkinson’s  to take on the role of Lived Experience Lead on a consultancy basis. 

About the role 

In this role, you’ll:

• Provide strategic guidance to the Parkinson’s UK team through the monthly Parkinson’s Excellence Network Steering Group.

• Bring expertise as a person with lived experience of Parkinson’s for Parkinson’s UK teams.

• Drive engagement and participation with the Excellence Network. 

• Inspire, challenge and collaborate with the health and social care professional community to drive significant improvements to Parkinson’s services.

• Act as an ambassador for the Excellence Network. 

• Attend the annual in-person PEN National and Regional Clinical Leads meeting.

• Support the PEN national calendar of events through attendance or promotion. This includes Excellence Hub meetings and other activities centred around our national priorities.

• Join relevant governance groups, including the UK Parkinson’s Audit Governance Board. 

What expertise you’ll bring:

• Have lived experience of Parkinson’s and awareness of how the condition presents itself for other people with Parkinson’s. 

• Be skilled in sharing insight and lived experience with a range of stakeholders to help inform decision making.

• Have an understanding of health and social care support to people with Parkinson’s  to support the strategic aims and objectives of Parkinson’s UK.

• This role does not require NHS Professional/Clinical experience, and we encourage applicants without a healthcare background to apply

This role is part of our Facilities and Property team. This is a part‑time position of 28 hours per week, usually worked over four days, though we’re happy to consider five shorter days. This role is based in London with an expectation of 2 days per week in the office on Finchley Road.

As Fundraising Lead- Midlands & South Wales, you will lead Philanthropy and Corporate fundraising across your region, developing relationships with high‑net‑worth individuals, senior business leaders and corporate partners.

We are looking for a dedicated individual who will empower ex-service personnel to regain their independence after a period of Mental Health (MH) Crisis, supporting them to thrive and contribute to our communities.  This role will join a team of existing VLSOs across the  East of England as part of a wider collaborative team within NHS England’s Op Courage - the Veterans’ Mental Health and Wellbeing service, and will work with other service charities and local support services. You will be home based with daily travel around your local region to support your clients and build relationships in the community, whilst working as part of the wider regional WWTW and NHS clinical teams.

Not Beyond Redemption is looking for a dedicated and organised Solicitor to provide guidance and supervision to Pro Bono Solicitors and volunteers from our partner firms who assist with casework in private children law matters. The charity is seeking a Solicitor (minimum of 1 year PQE, preferably in family law) to work on a remote basis. The candidate must, however, be willing to travel to attend the in-person legal clinics in the Northeast. There will also be occasional team meetings in North Wales (Wrexham) and London.

Not Beyond Redemption is a charity founded by Camilla Baldwin that provides free family legal advice and representation to women in prison. The charity's focus is to re-establish critical access and relationships between mothers and their children. The scope of the work is varied and ranges from helping women with a myriad of legal matters, including understanding their rights, negotiating with carers and representing them in courts across the country. The charity currently holds legal clinics in all 12 women’s prisons across England. 

The Role

Location: Primarily remote working. Preferably based in the North West area. Occasional travel to:- 

• HMP Low Newton  in Durham (every 2/3 months) to lead the legal clinics -with additional travel to other women's prisons as required

After initial supervision you will lead prison legal clinics in the North and run a caseload of private law children matters,  staffed by a network of pro bono volunteers from partner law firms. You will work closely with the Supervising Lawyer in the North to ensure we continue to provide high quality legal advice/representation to women in the Northern prisons and maintain our pro bono partnerships in the region. You will also run a small case load without volunteer solicitors. 

Key Accountabilities: 

• Lead legal prison clinics remotely and in-person.
• Provide sensitive, non-judgemental legal advice to women facing complex barriers. 
• Supervise/manage a caseload of private Children Act 1989 proceedings, from initial instructions through to court representation. This involves overseeing and approving the work undertake by the pro bono lawyers. 
• Support the pro bono lawyers to ensure that they provide high-level legal assistance to our clients. 
• Run a small caseload independently 
• Represent Not Beyond Redemption at charity events or regional networking sessions, as required.

Person Specification: 

• Qualified solicitor (minimum of 1 Year PQE – preferably in family law) 
• Highly organised. 
• Exceptional drafting skills and the ability to explain complex legal rights to clients in a clear, accessible manner 
• Must have good attention to detail. 
• Ability to work effectively from a remote home-based environment while maintaining high professional standards and strong links to the wider NBR team. 
• A positive outlook with an ability to inspire confidence, provide vision and motivate people. 
• Sensitive manner and interest in helping vulnerable people.

Main Purpose and Scope of the Job:

 Co-Ordinate an individual package of target hardening for clients using Stop Domestic Abuse services which is informed by a full risk assessment, the type and condition of the property and the needs and circumstances of the individual household. 

Working collaboratively with existing target hardening schemes within the city including Southampton City Council’s Dove scheme and similar offers from other social landlords and The Blue Lamp Trust.

Participating and contributing in awareness-raising campaigns of domestic abuse issues locally in liaison with local multi agency partnerships, and to participate in training events.

Remaining up-to-date and compliant with all organisational procedures policies and professional codes of conduct and uphold standards of best practice.

Maintaining accurate and confidential records using our secure web-based case management database and contribute to monitoring information for the service by ensuring that evaluation information is properly recorded
