We’re an award-winning education charity supporting learners across further education to secure the gateway qualifications that open up opportunities for employment, apprenticeships and further study. Through tuition, professional development and sector partnerships, we help colleges and training providers improve outcomes for students who are too often left behind.

We are now seeking a new Chief Executive Officer to succeed our founder, Sarah Waite, and lead the next chapter of our development.

Our GCSE maths pass rate is 55% higher than the national average and our GCSE English pass rate is 73% higher. For learners from disadvantaged backgrounds, the difference is even greater.

As Chief Executive Officer, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for the organisation. You will work closely with the Board, staff, funders and partners to grow our reach, strengthen our influence and ensure long-term sustainability.

You will champion the importance of post-16 English and maths, helping shape debate, policy and practice across the sector while ensuring we continue delivering high-quality support for learners.

About you

We are looking for an inspiring and values-led leader with a strong understanding of education and social impact.

You may already be a chief executive or a senior leader ready to take on your first CEO role. What matters most is your ability to combine strategic thinking with strong delivery, build trusted relationships and lead people through growth and change.

You will bring:

• Significant senior leadership experience, ideally within further education, education, skills, social mobility or a mission-led organisation
• A track record of developing and delivering organisational strategy
• Experience of building partnerships and influencing a wide range of stakeholders, including funders, policymakers and sector leaders
• Commercial and financial acumen, including experience of growing income and supporting organisational sustainability
• The ability to lead, motivate and develop high-performing teams
• Excellent communication skills and the credibility to represent the organisation externally
• A personal commitment to educational equity and improving opportunities for disadvantaged learners
