The Opportunity

We’re currently looking for volunteers to join our organisation across a number of departments. This is a generalised volunteer post – once you apply, we’ll connect with you to explore your skills, interests, and which team you’d be best suited to. This is a flexible opportunity, yet a commitment of 6-8 hours per week is required.

Our departments include:

• People & Culture (HR & Wellbeing): Recruitment, onboarding, volunteer engagement, and supporting a positive team culture.

• Creative: Content creation, design, storytelling, branding, and social media support.

• Data & Reporting: Research, impact measurement, data collection, analysis, and reporting.

• Outreach: Community engagement, partnerships, events, and external communications.

We are looking to recruit a Group Coordinator for our Brent group. As our local Group Coordinator you’ll take the lead in making sure your local group works as effectively as possible. You’ll recruit, induct and support other group volunteers to make sure your group’s activities meet the needs of your local MS community. In this role you’ll be able to develop your leadership, management, communication, organisation and motivation skills.

About TESYouth
TESYouth (Training, Employment Opportunities & Social Development for Youth) is a not-for-profit social enterprise dedicated to improving youth employment outcomes. Through volunteering, interactive workshops, work experience, and training programmes, we support young people in developing their skills and achieving their career aspirations.

Together with our collaborators and partners, we aim to make a lasting positive impact in the community.

We are looking for volunteers who can help informal carers with form filling for applications for Carers Allowance, Attendance Allowance, PIP and Blue Badges. Many of the carers that we work with are entitled to claim these benefits but find that the form filling element is challenging. We want to support them in this.

Barnet Carers has a long history of supporting unpaid carers living and/or caring for someone living in the London borough of Barnet. We are a charitable organisation delivering reliable and accessible support for ‘unpaid’ carers and young carers in Barnet. Our mission is to ‘enable all carers to thrive’ by empowering them to live the life they want, whilst carrying out a caring role. 

What you will be doing: 

• Assisting someone to fill out a benefit form over the phone, via video call  or in person at our Office in North Finchley (if you live locally to us in Barnet).
• Working as part of a team with other Barnet Carers volunteers and members of staff, as well as individually.

To be a Form Filling Volunteer, you will need good communication skills, to be friendly, approachable, able to handle confidential data and sensitive information, have good IT skills and a willingness to learn.

You will be given training on benefits and form filling as well as any other additional training required for the role. The role will be remote or based at our office in Finchley.  All we ask is that you can commit to the role for at least 4 to 8 hours per month for a minimum of six months. You will be able to choose the hours that are convenient for you.

About the Role:

As our Social Media Volunteer, you’ll play a key role in capturing and sharing the heart of what we do. Your work will help us connect with the wider community, attract more support, and celebrate the impact of our volunteers and services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and implement engaging ways to showcase our pantry project and community stories

• Maintain and grow our presence on platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook

About Us

Based in East London, we have supported people affected by homelessness and addiction for sixty years. We provide a residential addictions treatment programme and counselling, a training and development service, supported housing, and a Housing First service.

Our approach is trauma-informed, holistic and compassionate. We enable people to build strong foundations for the future and discover new skills, improve confidence and self-esteem, and improve physical health and mental well-being. All are vital to establishing a lasting recovery from homelessness and addiction and creating a more fulfilling life.

Our nine charity shops and two social enterprises, put us in the heart of communities across East London.

Role Overview

We are seeking a creative and enthusiastic Volunteer Social Media Content Producer to help us craft engaging, mission-driven content for our social media platforms. This is a great opportunity for someone who loves storytelling, creating digital content and wants to use their skills to support a meaningful cause.

Key Responsibilities

As part of the Fundraising, Marketing and Communications team, key responsibilities include:

· Developing original content for platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and LinkedIn.

· Creating graphics, short videos, reels, stories, and written posts that align with our brand and messaging.

· Collaborating with teams across SCT, including SCT retail, to plan and execute content calendars and campaigns.

Role Summary

As part of teaching at Roots, instructors are supplied with many teaching resources to help them teach the Roots way, such as instructor slides, teaching notes and walk-through videos.
Your role at Roots is to produce well-curated teaching notes, to ensure instructors understand the content and know exactly what is being taught.

Key tasks

• Assessing the current standard of teacher note 

• Taking on the role of editor/proofreader of all academic content

• Have a keen eye for detail such as grammar, language and punctuation
