Immediate Theatre is a Hackney based community arts organisation with almost 30 years’ experience of providing quality arts opportunities in East London.  We are looking for people willing to bring energy, enthusiasm and commitment to the role, and who will broaden the diversity of thinking on our board. Estimated time commitment 25 hours a year.

We are particularly keen to engage people with at least one of the following attributes:

• Young people under 25 interested in developing leadership skills.
• Lived experience of the issues facing our participants e.g.:
  • 90% of our youth theatre participants are from diverse ethnic backgrounds and a high proportion experience economic disadvantage, we know of 115 regular participants who access Free School Meals.
  • 32% of registered participants have special educational needs or a disability
  • Many participants on our Pathways to Employment programme have mental health challenges
  • We work with over 60’s including those experiencing long term illness
• Knowledge about education, we are keen to engage someone with knowledge of Secondary Education and/or academic connections with a relevant University
• Experience of managing a similar size organisation or team
• Experience of marketing.
• Experience in the community arts sector

Trustees
Term: Trustees will be appointed for a four year term and can serve consecutive terms.
Remuneration: Currently, the role of Trustee is not accompanied by any financial remuneration, although reasonable expenses may be claimed.
Attendance: We expect Trustees to be able to attend all board meetings, our annual strategic away day and engage with Agenda Alliance in other ways. Board meetings are typically held online, with one meeting held in person per year. There is often the option to join a board meeting from the Agenda office (London E2) if preferred.

• Our Trustees help shape the strategic direction of Agenda Alliance and provide leadership to ensure that we have the maximum impact for women and girls.
• We are looking for up to 3 Trustees to join our Board who match our ambition and are excited to support Agenda Alliance, as we solidify our position within the sector and grow our reach.

Responsibilities include:

• Help shape the strategic direction and provide leadership to Agenda ensuring that we have maximum impact for women and girls
• Fulfil all legal duties and responsibilities of a trustee and ensure sound governance and financial health of Agenda
• Ensure that Agenda operates within its charitable objectives and that decisions taken are in the best interests of women and girls at risk
• Establish and build a strong, effective, open and supportive relationship with the Chief Executive and other staff
• Act as an ambassador for the charity
• Support funding approaches to gain additional funds

• Income generation and fundraising, particularly for corporates and trusts and foundations

IJAD is a dance company working at the intersection of performing arts and technology and we’re looking for volunteers to help us with our upcoming live/hybrid festival at Riverside Studios Hammersmith, OOTFest25 (UN)SEEN. 

About OOTFest: OOTFest is a festival of live/hybrid performances, workshops, expert panel discussions and installations that will take you to unchartered new worlds via digital-immersive technologies. It celebrates artists who take risks, embrace uncertainty and push the boundaries of what’s possible.

This year’s OOTFest will take place in-person at Riverside Studios, Hammersmith and online via the Open Online Theatre platform, 5-8 June 2025.

We’re looking for volunteers to help out in-person at Riverside Studios. Each shift will be varied and we’re looking for volunteers to: 

• Take photos and videos for social media, alongside the official photographer
• Create high-quality content for IJAD’s social media channels
• Post content on IJAD’s social media channels throughout the festival
• Assist the festival artists 
• Greet attendees and answer queries
• Direct attendees around the venue
• Help with setting up and packing down

What will be required from you?

Our main goal is to ensure a positive experience for all volunteers and we can be flexible with timings, however we would particularly love to hear from those who are able to commit to volunteering for multiple (3-4hr) shifts over the course of the festival. 

You will be required to attend an online briefing in advance of the festival, as well as in-person induction at Riverside Studios (w/c 2 June).
