Fundraiser Job Description
Within a small, dynamic medical charity, the Fundraiser will play a pivotal role, engaging supporters through creative campaigns and cultivating strong relationships with donors, sponsors, and stakeholders.
The role is currently home-based in the UK, with remote staff communications. Attendance at events across the UK is required, so the ability to travel is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising & Financial Management
- Monitor and track fundraising income in collaboration with the accountant
- Forecast income targets and plan campaign budgets and expenses
- Draft fundraising budgets and coordinate payment processing
- Analyse income trends and adapt activity during quieter periods
- Ensure transparency and accuracy in all fundraising finances
Sponsorship & Donor Relations
- Identify, approach, and secure new sponsors and major donors
- Develop compelling funding bids and sponsorship packages
- Maintain strong relationships with existing donors, demonstrating the impact of their support
- Act as a consistent point of contact for sponsors and supporters
- Acknowledge and steward donations appropriately
Marketing, Campaigns & Communications
- Develop and deliver marketing campaigns to support fundraising activity
- Create engaging content such as blogs, newsletters, brochures, videos, and appeals
- Write persuasive copy for donation pages and fundraising materials
- Maintain and update fundraising content on the website
- Coordinate with external designers, printers, and agencies as needed
Social Media & Digital Fundraising
- Develop and implement a social media strategy aligned with fundraising goals
- Create, schedule, and manage content across multiple platforms
- Promote campaigns, appeals, and events online
- Engage with supporters and monitor online conversations
- Track and report on engagement and fundraising performance
- Design and deliver online donation drives, Giving Days, and email campaigns
- Support paid advertising and collaborations with partners or influencers
Supporter Engagement & Community Building
- Share impact stories and donor recognition (with consent)
- Encourage peer-to-peer fundraising
- Foster an engaged and supportive online community
PR & Media Relations
- Forge relationships with local and national media
- Draft press releases and pitch fundraising stories
- Manage publicity for fundraising events
- Coordinate media opportunities, photo calls, and branded event materials
About You
You will be based in the UK.
You will have experience in marketing, ideally within charity fundraising, with a proven ability to deliver successful campaigns and grow income across multiple channels. You are confident writing persuasive copy, using data to inform decisions, and managing campaigns from inception to completion.
You are well organised, take initiative, and communicate easily with others. You work collaboratively, bring creativity to what you do, and pay close attention to detail. Confidence using Microsoft Office is essential. Most importantly, you care about the mission of a charity, and an interest in healthcare and medicine would be a welcome addition

The Role

About You
The successful candidate will bring substantial executive leadership experience, ideally gained within a complex, purpose-led or internationally operating organisation. As a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent), you will possess excellent financial and commercial acumen, with experience leading organisational planning, overseeing significant budgets and providing strategic financial insight at the highest level. Experience of presenting to and working closely with Boards, Finance Committees and other senior governance groups will be essential.
The right candidate will be able to demonstrate a track record of leading business improvement, organisational change and operational modernisation, alongside the ability to build credibility and influence across diverse stakeholder groups. This unique opportunity requires a collaborative and pragmatic leader who combines sound judgement with effective delivery, enabling organisations to adapt, grow and achieve sustainable impact. Experience of digital innovation, data-driven decision-making and the effective application of emerging technologies, including AI, would be advantageous.

We're looking for a highly organised Team Administrator to keep The Talent Tap running smoothly and provide administrative support across all aspects of our small team including finance, programme logistics, marketing and fundraising support. Key responsibilities

Team administration

What we can offer
Salary and pension: We are offering an FTE salary for the role of £28,000 FTE, pro-rated to 21 hours a week (our working week is 35 hours).
Annual leave: You will be entitled to 30 days of annual leave plus bank holidays (these will be pro-rated to reflect your hours).
Hours of work: As a remote and largely part-time team, we offer a great deal of flexibility. We’re ideally looking for someone who can work 21 hours/week spread over three or more days of the week. We need someone who can commit to some regular team meetings, including quarterly away days which might fall outside of your normal working pattern. Otherwise, we trust you to set the schedule which works best for you.
Location: Our team works remotely. The team does meet in London quarterly for away days, for which travel is paid for. Remote participation is possible to accommodate access needs.
Contract: This is a fixed term 1-year contract, with the possibility of extension subject to funding. You will have a probation period of 3 months.
