Trustees typically attend monthly board meetings, with occasional activities between meetings. The estimated time commitment is around 2 hours per typical month. Role Overview – Treasurer (Volunteer Position)

We are seeking a dedicated Volunteer Treasurer to oversee the financial health of Children with Voices and help strengthen our financial systems. The Jawbone Collective seeks a Volunteer Bookkeeping / Financial Recordkeeping support person to join our thriving arts organisation. As we continue to expand activities and our reach across the Southwest of England, we need someone with financial expertise to help strengthen our operational foundation.

You will work remotely alongside our dedicated management team to develop robust financial processes that will support our journey toward becoming a self-sustaining arts organisation. The Jawbone Collective is a dynamic arts organisation dedicated to nurturing creative voices across the Wessex Region. Founded in 2022, we've evolved from our initial mission of publishing the poetry collections of under represented groups to becoming a comprehensive creative hub offering multiple platforms for artistic expression. Our initiatives include the upcoming Jawbone Journal - May 2025; developing a Substack community, Jawbone Radio for spoken word performances; plus workshops - in person and online; and mentoring programs. About Bedfordshire Refugee & Asylum Seeker Support

Our objective is to support Refugees and asylum seekers in Bedfordshire. We provide Drop in advice, English lessons and social activities.

What will you be doing?

Following the retirement of our long-serving Treasurer, BRASS is now seeking a new Treasurer Trustee to join our friendly and committed board. The Treasurer is responsible for overseeing the financial health of BRASS and supporting the board in fulfilling its governance duties.

The accounts are managed by our small but capable internal finance team, including a Finance Officer (one day per week), a Finance Manager (two days per week), who also prepares the annual accounts. An independent volunteer accountant also reviews and signs off the accounts.

The Treasurer role is not time-intensive and the focus is on oversight and guidance, rather than hands-on financial management.

Community Action for Refugees and Asylum Seekers (CARAS) works with people of refugee backgrounds to provide practical, educational, and social help. We create supportive relationships, networks, and spaces that enable people to access what they need in order to improve their wellbeing and safety. Our team of staff and volunteers run a large range of activities and services which offer a place of welcome to refugees and asylum seekers, working with them to recognise skills and develop potential. 

CARAS has become one of the largest providers of refugee support in south London, including working with large numbers of unaccompanied and separated children. We have responded to changes in demographics and are proud of our ability to remain agile. 

Role 

• Oversee and present budgets, management accounts and annual financial statements to the board 
• Ensure that proper accounting records are kept and financial resources are properly controlled, invested in line with good governance, legal and regulatory

• Liaise with the finance manager, CEO and any other relevant members of staff

• Financial Director/Accountant – with strong financial understanding and experience, you will be confident supporting Board members and the Senior Leadership Team with financial decisions and will Chair our Finance and Audit Committee.
• Gallerist/Art Consultant – with substantial experience in the commercial art world. • Commercial or entrepreneurial experience – you will understand how to develop new income streams or commercialise strands of activities, identify cross selling opportunities, strategic partnerships, and advise on how to leverage assets to generate income and create sustainable business models. This role will chair the trading company.

Rekindle is based in Powys and helps young people aged 16 to 25. Rekindle is all about recovery, the recovery of mental health, the recovery of opportunity and the recovery of a fulfilled life. There are around 100 clients at any one time with 40 having acute needs. This age group often falls between statutory services and can suffer acute symptoms of distress.

We are looking for an experienced finance professional to join our friendly and committed board. You support will help us to grow our mental health support for young people.

About the Role

As well as fulfilling the duties of a Trustee, the Treasurer maintains an overview of the organisations financial affairs. The Treasurer ensures that effective and appropriate financial measures, controls and procedures are put in place and reports to the Board at regular intervals about the financial health of the organisation. The Treasurer will oversee and lead on our plans to set up a robust system for forecasting with a view to diversifying income.

The time commitment for this role is estimated to be 1-2 days a month (12 hours).

What are we looking for?

We are looking for an experienced finance professional with the following skills and experience:

• Practising senior finance professional (i.e. Accountant, Finance Manager, Finance Director).
• Ideally you will have charity finance experience.
• Ability to communicate and explain financial information to members of the Board.

Time commitment

The time commitment averages around 3-6 hours per month.

4 Board meetings a year - usually hybrid, allowing trustees to join remotely or in person.

The Person

Finance Experience: 

• Preferably financial experience from a charity outside of the SU sector

• Ability to deputise for the Chair, and chair meetings of the Board
• Ability to build a strong and effective working relationship with the Board of Trustees Chair

• Assist and support the Chair in providing leadership to the Board, through the governance arrangements, and also acting as a ‘sounding board’ and confidante to the Chair in the execution of their role

Slough Foodbank, founded by two Slough churches (including Slough Baptist church) is seeking a Trustee with a strong Christian faith to serve as Treasurer Trustee.

We are part of Trussell, a UK-wide network of more than 1,300 food bank centres, working together to ensure people in crisis receive emergency food and support. Slough Foodbank operates six days per week and currently issues around 12,000 emergency food parcels each year. We are a progressive, forward-thinking foodbank focused on meeting immediate need while helping people move towards stability.

The Treasurer Trustee will work alongside our finance and fundraising teams, providing oversight and guidance rather than day-to-day administration. We welcome applicants with either broad governance experience or a specialist financial background.
