As Unit Manager you will be responsible for the overall management of your St John Ambulance Youth unit. You will do this by leading weekly meetings, organising other youth development activities and actively participating in the recruitment, training and retention of the young people and volunteers in your unit. You will ensure that they have a positive and rewarding experience in St John Ambulance, by equipping them with the necessary skills to fulfil our vision; ‘Everyone who needs it should receive first aid from those around them. No one should suffer for the lack of trained first aiders.’
This role is ideal for someone who has some management experience and wants to enhance their skills while doing invaluable work. This role is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitations Offenders Act.
Our Wymondham Cadet Unit will meet for 2 hrs on a weekday evening, every week during term times. Usually between the hours between 6-9pm, being a new unit, the team will be able to discuss day/time when in place. Please outline your availability in your application form

We are seeking Event Doctors to respond and manage emergency calls/incidents at events which may include venues such as stadia, concert halls, motorsports tracks, road races etc. Event doctors shall provide specialist, clinical, social and holistic care while undertaking clinical assessment and interventions in the pre-hospital environment. This will mainly involve working in mobile treatment centres or temporary event medical centres.
Successful candidates will be registered registered medical practitioners with the GMC, without cautions or restrictions, and hold a license to practice outside of an approved practice setting.

Safeguarding is central to the work of St John Ambulance because it ensures that the diverse range of services we provide to children and adults at risk of harm, are delivered safely. Safeguarding Team Members do this in a number of ways e.g. by monitoring the implementation of the safeguarding policy, by responding to questions regarding and giving guidance etc.
Learning is at the heart of St John Ambulance and we offer a very large range of learning and developmental opportunities to our volunteers, including the full professional training that is essential for our Safeguarding Team Members:
· Safeguarding Awareness
· Safeguarding in Practice
· Working safely with Children and Adults at Risk of Harm

Through volunteering as an Emergency Responder, you’ll get a huge sense of satisfaction and pride delivering essential first aid and lifesaving clinical care at community and major events in your areas, including at sporting events, concerts, community festivals.
We will make sure you will have access to a proper induction to volunteering with SJA and the training you need for the role you take on. Successful candidates will be registered nurses with the NMC and will be able to provide evidence of CPD activity within the previous 12 months.
