Who we are looking for

We are looking for an inspiring, emotionally intelligent and values-led leader with a proven track record of delivering organisational transformation. Whether your experience has been gained within the charity sector, a membership organisation, healthcare, public service or another purpose-led environment, you will bring the ability to turn strategy into action and lead people through change with confidence and compassion.

You will have a strong commercial and strategic mindset, with experience of strengthening financial sustainability through income growth, partnerships or innovation, alongside the credibility to represent Coeliac UK with government, the NHS, researchers, industry and supporters.

Just as importantly, you will be an authentic and visible leader who builds trust, develops high-performing teams, embraces accountability and creates an inclusive culture where people can thrive. Employer: START
Hours: 4 Days per week (28 hours) worked across Monday to Friday, specific work pattern to be agreed, with flexibility required)
Salary Band: £33,860 - £40,000 FTE (£27,088 - £32,000 per annum actual for 28 hours per week)

Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced, proactive and highly organised Operations Manager to join our Senior Leadership Team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of START by ensuring the organisation operates safely, efficiently and in line with best practice.

Core Responsibilities

As Operations Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operational management of the charity, leading on health and safety, facilities management, information governance, H.R, organisational policies and procedures, and the continuous improvement of our operational systems. You will also manage operational staff, lead key organisational projects and work collaboratively with colleagues, trustees, partners and external contractors to support the delivery of our strategic objectives.

This varied and rewarding role requires a confident leader with excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills, who can manage multiple priorities while maintaining high standards of compliance and service delivery. You will be passionate about creating efficient systems, fostering a positive working environment and ensuring the organisation remains compliant with relevant legislation and best practice.

You will manage a portfolio of high-potential prospects, developing tailored engagement strategies that connect donors' passions with Oxford Saïd's strategic priorities. From identifying opportunities and cultivating relationships through to securing significant gifts and delivering outstanding stewardship, you will play a leading role in growing philanthropic income and impact across the School.

Key responsibilities:

• Managing and developing a portfolio of high-net-worth individuals and selected philanthropic organisations.
• Securing gifts typically ranging from £50,000 to £1 million+.
• Building trusted relationships with senior academics, School leadership, alumni volunteers and University colleagues.
• Translating world-class academic research and thought leadership into inspiring donor propositions.
• Supporting cultivation events, donor visits and stewardship activities that deepen engagement and demonstrate impact.

You will be an experienced and strategic fundraising professional with a proven track record of securing major gifts and building successful donor relationships within complex organisations. You will have experience engaging high-net-worth individuals and philanthropic organisations, consistently achieving ambitious income targets and managing prospects through the full fundraising cycle. Additionally, you will possess the ability to translate complex ideas into compelling philanthropic opportunities. A strong understanding of fundraising best practice, ethics and data governance is essential, alongside experience using fundraising CRM systems.

Finance Manager (Flexible Working – Part-time Welcome)

Are you a qualified finance professional looking for an opportunity to use your expertise to support a global humanitarian mission? ENN is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to provide strategic financial leadership, strengthen organisational sustainability and help ensure our resources are used effectively to improve nutrition outcomes worldwide.

Emergency Nutrition Network (ENN) is a respected UK charity working to reduce undernutrition globally. We connect technical experts, build evidence and improve knowledge to strengthen nutrition policy and programming, particularly in low- and middle-income countries and fragile and conflict-affected settings.

This is an exciting opportunity to join ENN at an important stage in its development. The Finance Manager will work closely with the CEO, Management Team and Board of Trustees, providing strategic financial insight, overseeing financial governance and supporting effective decision-making across the organisation.

About the role

The Finance Manager will be responsible for:

• Developing and delivering ENN’s finance strategy in support of its five-year organisational goals.
• Providing financial insight, analysis and risk management advice to the Management Team and Board of Trustees.
• Leading budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes.
• Overseeing core finance operations, including multi-currency accounting, payroll, cash flow and financial controls.
• Managing audits, statutory reporting and charity governance requirements.
• Supporting funding proposals, grant management and donor compliance.
• Line managing and supporting the development of the finance team.

This role is a key position within ENN and provides the opportunity to influence organisational strategy while ensuring strong financial stewardship.

About you

We are looking for an experienced finance professional who:

• Is a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
• Has significant experience leading financial management within the charity or not-for-profit sector.
• Understands charity finance requirements, governance and compliance obligations.
• Has experience managing grant-funded projects, including allocation of staff costs across funds.
• Has experience working with funders, foundations, NGOs or institutional donors.
• Can confidently communicate complex financial information and provide strategic advice to senior stakeholders.
• Has experience managing and developing a team.
• Is comfortable working independently and as a proactive business partner within a dispersed organisation.

Experience working with international NGOs, institutional donors or multi-currency environments would be advantageous.

What we offer

• Salary up to £60,000 per annum (full-time equivalent), dependent on experience.
