As a fundraising volunteer, we will support you every step of the way to ensure your time at Cats Protection is a positive and rewarding one. Whatever time you can give really does make a big difference We have lots of exciting activities to choose from for example attending a fundraising event, fundraising online, promoting fundraising activities on social media, handling administrative tasks, or contributing to the development of new fundraising ideas. As a flexible role, you have the choice to be involved in the following:

• face-to-face fundraising – organising or helping with fundraising events, attending supermarket collections and monitoring collection boxes.

Our fundraising events organisers use their passion for cats and people to plan cake sales, barn dances, quiz nights and everything in between.

What can you expect to be doing?

• Planning fundraising events and activities like cake sales, quiz nights and barn dances in Mid-Sussex RH15, RH16, RH17, BN6, BN45.
• Providing the treasurer with information on funds raised from fundraising events
• Encouraging and promoting a professional image of Cats Protection 
• Following policies and guidelines and ensuring licences and permits are obtained for events

A bit more information about this role and the team

• This is a flexible role. The amount of time you offer can work to your availability and convenience.
• There may be opportunities for your activities to be fully remote and/or admin based if you'd prefer.
• You will need your own transport if you wish to attend events, ideally a car or van since items, stock and equipment will usually be needed.
• We ask that you complete training to support you in your role. This can be completed online if you have access to the internet and the necessary device (computer/laptop/tablet etc). Support can be offered or paper versions of much of the training if needed.

The Community Fundraising Team is an integral part of The Charity Fundraising Portfolio, with an income target of £3.6 million in 2024/25 and the team consists of Community Fundraisers based across the UK.

Our role is to provide fundraising advice and support to our DIY individual fundraisers, Supporter Groups, Community Organisations and Regional Corporates.

How can you help?
We are recruiting a team of Community Fundraising Volunteers to help us provide our amazing DIY individual fundraisers with the best possible experience when contacting The Charity for information or fundraising advice. We want to be able to engage with our fundraisers and respond to queries efficiently, whilst also spotting further fundraising opportunities 
for our expert team of regional Community Fundraisers.

As part of a team of Community Fundraising Admin Volunteers, you’d help us to: 
• Manage the Community Fundraising Team inboxes.
• Respond to our Fundraisers by their preferred choice, including phone, email etc.
• Identify opportunities for further engagement by the relevant Regional Community Fundraiser.
• Update our CRM with details of the Fundraiser, their DIY event and any action taken in response to their contact with us.
 

What impact will you have?
You’ll play a vital role in the Community Fundraising Team, helping us provide the best possible experience to our fundraisers.

Time commitment

Across the UK, our 270 local groups play a vital part in supporting people affected by MS. They provide sense of belonging, unity and friendship. And they deliver services and support for their local MS community.

We are looking to recruit a Fundraising Volunteer for the North Durham Group. As our Fundraising Volunteer you’ll support your Fundraising Group Coordinator to organise local fundraising activities and events throughout the year. You could be researching and talking to prospective supporters to develop links with local organisations, planning and organising group fundraising events, coordinating and supporting others involved in fundraising.

In this role you’ll be able to develop your organisation, communication and team working skills. Most importantly you’ll inspire your local community to raise funds that help make sure no one has to face MS alone.

Time Commitment

We estimate this role will need around 2 hours a week. Our roles are flexible and aim to fit around you. Time commitments for this role may vary depending on your activities. This is an ongoing role.

This is a great opportunity to gain experience within a large charity and develop your existing skills and learn new ones. We need you to get involved and help make positive changes to the lives of people affected by MS.

About you

You’ll have an interest in the MS Society and the work that we do, as well as the enthusiasm to represent both us and our values locally. You will understand the needs of people affected by MS in your area and be sympathetic to the needs and motivations of volunteers. You’ll be confident using Microsoft Office, the internet and email. Ideally you’ll understand the local area and organisations that provide local services.

As a Regional Fundraising Volunteer, you will support Rethink Mental Illness in generating income, raising awareness, and building community engagement through local fundraising initiatives. • Increase awareness of the organisation’s work by helping to promote regional fundraising activity. 

• Represent the organisation at schools, community groups, and public events, delivering presentations to inspire support.

• Confident in communicating at all levels, with strong copywriting & social media experience
• Confident with the use of Hootsuite (or similar Social Media software), CRM & MS Outlook.
• Able to identify new opportunities to raise awareness and funds.
• A good team player who understands the importance of collaboration

Time commitment
We’d ideally be looking for volunteers to commit to volunteering for one day per week (either one full day or two half days), as ideally we are looking for cover across the full working week. The role is home based.

Practical considerations
You will receive a full induction to The Brain Tumour Charity and specific training for the role, as well as ongoing direction from one of our Senior Community Fundraisers, who will be your key contact. We carry out reference checks for all individuals who will be volunteering with us on a regular basis. Volunteers will be required to complete some 
internal data protection and disclosure documentation before commencing the role. Volunteers must be over 18. 
We encourage volunteers to claim for any reasonable expenses that are incurred in the course of their volunteering with the Charity.

We are looking for a Director of Events & Operations to join YAF’s leadership team for the next two years starting in June 2025. We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual to manage our programme of events and oversee our operational management.

St John Ambulance Cymru (SJAC) is an independent Priory within the Order of St John. We are a working Order of Chivalry of the British Crown with His Majesty the King as its Sovereign Head, which is accredited to the United Nations. We are Wales’ leading first aid charity. Our new 2025-2030 Strategy has the mission of “Wales as a Community of Lifesavers”.In order to do this we have 4 strategic objectives:

We work closely with NHS Wales and the Welsh Ambulance Service University Trust (WASUT), We provide on-site first aid and medical services at events across Wales from local events in your community to international sporting and cultural events. In order to do this we have around 2000 St John People, a mixture of employees and volunteers as well as around 800 Children and Young People.

The opportunity

SJAC has ambitious plans in place and a new strategy. We are seeking two trustees to join our board, one of which we require to have a fundraising background and expertise.

Fundraising & Marketing – You will have a strong background in fundraising at a senior level. You will understand the challenges of fundraising in Wales and support our leadership team on our fundraising strategy, including attracting major donors, legacies, corporate sponsors and regular givers. An understanding of fundraising regulation and governance is key, in addition to experience in marketing and engagement to ensure the charity’s brand and impact reaches a wide audience.

Within the role you will be helping, supporting and guiding us on our journey, willing to be a strong advocate for the charity and having the skills and expertise to steer the charity towards achieving our strategic priorities. You will also of course live our values of Compassion, Quality, Inclusion and Integrity.

Role Description

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of an important departments in our organisation, working with the team on fundraising efforts while gaining valuable experience within Emerge Worldwide. We are looking for an individual with the passion and drive for fundraising, to help the organisation reach our fundraising goals and enable us to achieve the crucial work we do in raising awareness and prevention against sexual exploitation and sex trafficking.

We make an impactful difference in the lives of children, young people, women and professionals as well as organisations and businesses. There has been a 10% increase in sexual exploitation and sex trafficking against children (NSPCC 2022), and 99% of victims in the commercial sex industry are female (Unseen).  We desire to provide free training so as many women and girls are trained, enabling increased protection against this horrific crime. 

As a volunteer fundraiser, you’ll be instrumental in the organisation securing the essential funds that allow Emerge Worldwide to reach more people, including supporting and empowering victims and survivors. Your efforts will directly contribute to us offering services to the most vulnerable people. 

What are we looking for?

We’re seeking volunteers with experience in fundraising, fundraising research to help drive our fundraising efforts and expand our support network, including sponsorship. Any experience in bid writing is desirable. We are also seeking volunteers who have event planning and project planning experience. 

This role will include:

● Researching funding and sponsorship opportunities.

● Exploring additional fundraising opportunities and strategies.

● Developing a simple donor journey and stewardship plan to engage supporters, providing ways to deepen their connection with our charity.

● Assisting in the planning and organisation of fundraising activities and events.

● Reaching out to businesses and companies for potential partnerships and donation opportunities.

● Supporting the promotion of our fundraising initiatives and activities.

● Assisting with online fundraising efforts.

● Contributing creative fundraising ideas to boost engagement and donations.

● Collaborating with our Social Media team to create engaging content and campaigns that promote our fundraising efforts, increase visibility, and inspire community support.

We are looking for volunteers who have:

● A track record in delivering successful fundraising.

● Experience of fundraising in the charity sector is desirable but not essential.

● Experience in planning successful events and activities.

● Good knowledge of the current fundraising landscape and interest in keeping up to date with fundraising trends.

● Reliable, organised with good timekeeping.

● Able to work independently and proactively as well as in a team.

● Clear and confident in communication.

● Excellent working knowledge and comprehension of written English.
