About This Job
As Fundraising Assistant at sister charities, ACCT UK and CCFA, you will play a key role in the growth of existing fundraising and in the creation of new income streams. Stewarding fundraisers, helping to develop new and existing fundraising campaigns, building relationships internally within the cadet organisations and externally with Trusts and Foundations, corporates and major givers. You will provide administrative and operational support, including maintaining the fundraising database. Working closely with the rest of the Development team and in particular the Marketing department to ensure that both charities can provide increasing financial support to cadets and adult volunteers across the UK.

The Combined Cadet Force Association (CCFA) is a charity dedicated to the promotion of the ideals and activities of the Combined Cadet Force in schools. DIRECTORATE PURPOSE
The Fundraising, Marketing and Communications directorate is responsible for:
• Income generation across trusts and foundations, corporates, major donors, community fundraising, public donations, and legacies, alongside relationships with commissioners and public sector funders.
• Partnership development, engaging businesses, philanthropists, trusts, and volunteers.
• Marketing of services and membership to families, adoptees, commissioners, and professionals in health, education, and social care.
• Awareness raising and thought leadership, ensuring adoption and permanence issues have a strong voice nationally.
Currently a team of six, the directorate has strong ambitions to grow in size and scope, with scope to re-imagine its structure to meet future needs.
THE ROLE

As Director of Fundraising, Marketing & Communications you will:
• Build unrestricted income in a competitive funding environment

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Leadership
• Lead the design and delivery of a multi-year fundraising, marketing, and communications strategy aligned to organisational priorities.

Income Growth & Diversification
• Oversee all voluntary income streams – trusts, major donors, corporates, community/public fundraising, legacies – while also strengthening public sector and commissioning relationships.

• Use and promote data-driven decision-making, supporter journeys, and digital fundraising/marketing effectively.

The Opportunity

In the role you will:

Brain Tumour Research is seeking an experienced and motivated fundraiser to join our team. Communicating animal welfare science to both specialist audiences and the wider public is key to turning knowledge into real-world improvements in animal welfare. We are seeking a Scientific Communications and Content Assistant to join our talented Scientific Communications Team during an exciting period of growth and change for both charities.
The Scientific Communications and Content Assistant will support us to deliver our scientific communications strategy by helping to draft, design and publish engaging content for our print and digital platforms. This includes assisting with the creation of visual and written content that effectively convey complex scientific information to our diverse audiences.
The role will report to our Scientific Communications and Outreach Manager and work closely with the Public Affairs Lead and other internal teams to create engaging content for our audiences. What you’ll be doing

- Overseeing the Charities’ day-to-day social media activity, including scheduling posts, monitoring channels, and responding to engagement.
- Assisting with the creation and dissemination of the Charities’ content including but not limited to press releases, newsletters, and digital campaign materials.
- Liaising regularly with internal teams to stay up to date on the Charities’ activities and to plan and schedule content across channels.
- Monitoring social media analytics and Mailchimp performance metrics to support reporting and strategy development.
- Collaborating with internal teams, for example Fundraising, to ensure consistent messaging and branding.

What we’re looking for
- Proven experience in digital communications, content creation and social media.

About the role
Our dedicated team moderates our full-service accounts (all organic content and paid ads) as well as one-off campaigns and appeals for some of the most recognisable charities in the sector.
This role is perfect for skilled comms experts who can provide excellent supporter care and is best suited as an additional source of income (the majority of our team are freelancers and consultants). You must be able to begin moderation at 9 am (or earlier), wrap up by 9 pm and adhere to our sub-three-hour response time.
Our moderators must have a minimum of three years’ in-house, third-sector comms experience.

Our moderation takes place between 9 am and 9 pm, Monday-Sunday.
Different accounts will require varying levels of ‘active’ hours (defined as time spent taking action). You will split your active hours between 9am and 9pm. For example, for an account which requires three active hours, you might carry out your work in six, thirty minute instalments throughout the shift.
As you gain experience, you will be allocated multiple accounts which will enable you to increase your hours worked.
Whilst you need to be on hand to monitor your accounts during 9am-9pm, the role does allow for a great deal of personal flexibility.

Data Officer
We are looking for an individual with a keen, analytical mind who is comfortable working with large datasets to be a Data Officer within the Knowledge and Insight team.
Position: SIT62 Data Officer

The Role
Reporting to the Head of Data Services, the Data Officer will meet data needs relating to the management and delivery of supporter and engagement products. You will work alongside three other Data Officers to assess, prioritise and provide solutions including the building of data selections and journeys for direct marketing purposes and the running of supporter data imports and exports.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Delivering data selections, Building automated journeys for fundraising and engagement activity to support increased income generation and supporter retention, ensuring communications are delivered to agreed Service Level Agreements.
- Providing reports and data sets to supporter product owners, managers and delivery staff to help them maximise the impact of activities.
About You
You will have experience of using CRM Dynamics, Faststats and PeopleStage and or any Donor CRM for marketing purposes. You will receive support while you are learning to use any of the tools and applications the team use and will be actively encouraged in the development of your data and analytical skills. Communication skills play a key part in this role, because you will need to be able to talk through or present selections or solutions to stakeholders.
You will have a proven record of:
- Working with large datasets for marketing purposes and provide solutions and or data in response to enquiries from colleagues and other teams.
- Using a relational customer/supporter database to import and export data to and from external suppliers; including data mapping and the design of appropriate import processes.
- Use of a marketing automation tools such as Faststats and PeopleStage.
