At The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, accurate, accessible and well-managed data underpins everything from supporter stewardship to the delivery of ambitious fundraising campaigns. We are looking for a proactive and solutions-focused Senior Database Officer to help colleagues get the best from our fundraising CRM, strengthen data quality and support our ongoing transition to Raiser’s Edge NXT.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative Data and Fundraising Operations team at a time of significant growth. You will combine technical database work with stakeholder support, training and process improvement, helping colleagues use our systems confidently and effectively.
You do not need to know every system we use from day one. If you have strong data manipulation skills, enjoy solving complex problems and can quickly develop expertise in new technology, we would love to hear from you.
What makes this opportunity different
This role offers more than traditional database administration.
Our Data and Fundraising Operations team acts as the technical lead for many of the Charity’s systems and technical projects. Alongside developing your knowledge of Raiser’s Edge NXT, you’ll have opportunities to broaden your experience across Excel, Access, SharePoint, APIs, data integrations, reporting, automation and system implementation.
You’ll be joining a collaborative and supportive team where you can deepen your CRM expertise while developing a broader understanding of data, systems and digital processes within fundraising.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll help colleagues across the Charity get the best from our fundraising CRM and data by:
- Providing day-to-day support and troubleshooting for Raiser’s Edge NXT users
- Supporting fundraising teams as they move from Raiser’s Edge 7 to NXT
- Delivering clear training, guidance and practical support to CRM users
- Managing data imports, cleansing, audits and database administration
- Monitoring data quality and improving how supporter information is recorded
- Working with stakeholders to understand their needs and improve systems and processes
About you
You may already be working as a Database Officer, CRM Officer or charity data specialist and be ready to take the next step in your career.
You’re curious, proactive and solutions-focused. You enjoy investigating data and system issues, working with complex datasets and finding practical ways to improve processes. Just as importantly, you enjoy working with people and can explain technical information clearly to colleagues with different levels of confidence and experience.
You’ll bring:
- Proven ability to learn new systems quickly and develop advanced knowledge
- Strong data manipulation skills using Excel, Access or comparable tools
- Highly developed problem-solving skills
- The ability to investigate data or system issues methodically
- Experience managing several stakeholders and competing requirements
- The ability to draw out requirements and translate them into practical improvements
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical information clearly
- A proactive approach and a high level of initiative
It would be helpful, but not essential, if you have
- Experience of working within a charity
- Advanced knowledge of Raiser’s Edge 7 or Raiser’s Edge NXT
- Experience using ImportOmatic or a similar data import tool
- Experience designing and delivering systems training
- Experience creating user guidance or process documentation
- Experience supporting CRM adoption or system change
Benefits:
- Hybrid working, with approximately 40% of your time in the office and 60% working from home each month
- 27 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays, rising to 29 days after five years
- A contributory pension scheme with employer contributions of up to 6%
- Life insurance for eligible pension scheme members
- Enhanced maternity and adoption leave and pay
- Employee assistance and confidential counselling services
- Flexible working options
- Subsidised on-site canteens
- A bright, modern Chelsea office close to South Kensington station

Events and Community Fundraising Assistant
Job description and person specification
Imagine being told that you, or someone you love, is losing their sight. In that moment, two profound questions demand urgent answers:
· Can this be stopped?
· How will I live my life?
Currently, research into preventing and treating sight loss is chronically underfunded, receiving a mere 1.2% of publicly funded health research grants: people who are blind or vision impaired are three times more likely to experience loneliness and isolation than the general population.

Our researchers are at the forefront, making breakthroughs and discoveries that will prevent, treat and cure eye disease. The partnerships we build and initiatives we support are changing life for blind and vision impaired people.
We are Fight for Sight: we won’t stop until we: Save Sight. Change Lives.
We have a clear ambition and have the support of well-respected and highly engaged ambassadors.
We are now looking for experienced, committed, and creative individuals to join our dynamic team to help realise a new five-year growth strategy. If you want to be part of something impactful, we’d love to hear from you.
The Events and Community Fundraising Assistant will work within the Events and Community team, that sits within the wider Fundraising department.

Closing date for applications: 9am, Monday 28 September 2026

Founded in 1844, YMCA is a global movement and the world's largest youth-focused charity. In England and Wales, YMCAs are based in over 700 communities across 168 local authorities, supporting young people and communities to reach their potential. The turnover of YMCA in 2025-26 was £386m. YMCA England & Wales is a £23 million organisation of more than 400 colleagues, supporting a Federation of 80 local YMCAs to deliver vital services which positively impact young lives across the country. We're now looking for an expert in Individual Giving to lead our retention and RoomSponsor activity.
About the Role
This is a chance to take the reins of a high-performing Individual Giving programme and make it your own. You'll have genuine independence to shape the retention strategy across cash, mid-level and regular giving.
You'll lead a team of three – experienced and capable fundraisers - and you'll be the person who helps them go further, while keeping a close eye on income growth and the supporter journey end to end. Alongside the core programme, you'll also have oversight of our small events portfolio, including our marathon fundraising activity, so there's variety in the mix alongside the retention programme.
This is a chance to make an impact within an organisation with a strong track record in giving career progression, backed by an SLT genuinely supportive of new initiatives.
About You
You're an expert in Individual Giving with a proven track record in retention, direct marketing or mid-level fundraising, and experience managing budgets, suppliers and performance data.
You're a confident line manager who enjoys developing others, and you'll bring strong communication and influencing skills, sound judgement under pressure, and a genuine commitment to YMCA's mission and values.
If you're ready for real ownership, a supportive senior team, and an opportunity for self-development within a charity with genuine scale and ambition, we'd love to hear from you.
Our recruitment process is anonymised and candidates' names are hidden. We welcome and encourage job applications from people of all backgrounds. Safer recruitment is important to us and the successful applicant will be asked to provide two references. They will also be required to complete a safeguarding self-declaration, safeguarding training and undertake a DBS check.
YMCA is the world's oldest and largest youth charity. Collectively, we support 402,501 young people across 708 communities in England and Wales.

National AIDS Trust is the UK’s HIV rights charity. We work to stop HIV from standing in the way of health, dignity and equality, and to end new HIV transmissions. Our expertise, research and advocacy secure lasting change to the lives of people living with and at risk of HIV.
Each year, we run a huge World AIDS Day campaign across the UK, engaging thousands of schools, colleges, universities, companies, community groups and individuals to raise awareness of HIV and vital funds to support our work. We also run an online shop, taking hundreds of ribbon and brooch orders during the campaign.
We’re looking for someone self-motivated and enthusiastic to help our small, dedicated fundraising team liaise with our many supporters and send out packs of red ribbons and supporting materials. You’ll also coordinate and manage the dispatch of online shop orders, and support the finance and resources team to reconcile donations received through our website.
You’ll be part of a small team of dedicated colleagues working across different fundraising specialisms whilst collaborating to reach our goals, and a key part of an organisation of people who are all inspired by the difference we can make. This is a good opportunity for anyone looking to gain experience of working in fundraising, finance, or in the HIV/charity sector.
