In this varied and rewarding role, you will work across multiple areas of fundraising and event coordination to secure vital funds that enable the Trust to continue our impactful work.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual, who is passionate about our work and enjoys building relationships. Working closely with the fundraising team, senior volunteers, and colleagues in the wider team, you will take a leading role to deliver engaging fundraising events, activities and campaigns and expand the Trust’s portfolio of events, challenges and initiatives.

The ideal candidate will be proactive, a strong team player and have excellent organisational and communication skills. You will be a strategic thinker, have a willing attitude and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.

This is a full time permanent role with a minimum of 3 days a week in our Central London office, offering increasing annual leave entitlement based on length of service, as well as office closure between Christmas and New Year. Plus two days for Rosh Hashanah and one day for Yom Kippur should they fall on weekdays.

Key responsibilities

Events

· Oversee, coordinate and deliver our calendar of fundraising events including logistics and administration.

· Help organise our annual Appeal Dinner, the Trust’s flagship fundraising event, overseeing all administration, liaising with internal and external stakeholders and oversee adverts in Appeal Dinner brochure.

· Liaise with companies to arrange corporate events with Holocaust survivor speakers and develop relationships with existing and new companies to increase income in this area.

· Oversee and work with Young HET supporters to motivate them to fundraise for the Trust

· Work with other colleagues to market events through targeted messaging.

· Develop ideas for new fundraising campaigns, initiatives and events to grow income and cultivate new donors.

Community Fundraising

· Support fundraising campaigns including the coordination of appeals, newsletters and mailouts.

· Establish a programme of fundraising challenges (such as marathons and sporting events) to generate income and supporter engagement, building key relationships.

· Work with our Education and Outreach teams to oversee engagement and support from schools, synagogues and other institutions.

· Lead on digital fundraising campaigns and prepare content for social media.

General

· To manage the acknowledgment and thanking of donations and help to ensure the database is maintained.

· Work collaboratively with the Fundraising team on current and future fundraising strategy and activities, to shape fundraising priorities.

· Comply with relevant legislation with regards to data protection including General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018.

· As part of a small team, to contribute to other areas of the Trust’s work as required.

The Role

Whitley Awards Ceremony

The Whitley Awards are the result of an international search to find, fund, train and put a spotlight on outstanding grassroots leaders and their conservation projects. Finalists are invited to London for a week of training and events, culminating with the Whitley Awards Ceremony, where winners receive their Awards from WFN Patron, HRH The Princess Royal in front of 400 guests and many more tuning in via our livestream.

The Events and Office Assistant (EOA) will assist in the planning and delivery of the annual Whitley Awards Week, including the Ceremony, Friends Reception, NGO Reception, and related activities, particularly in the following areas:

• Arrange team and visitor travel, accommodation, and hospitality logistics
• Manage event guest lists and RSVPs using Salesforce and other platforms; help coordinate mail-outs and e-invitations
• Provide on-the-day event support including set-up, guest registration, and general assistance
• Support event logistics such as venue liaison, catering, AV, décor, merchandise, and materials, assisting with supplier coordination
• Champion WFN’s Event Code of Conduct.

Other WFN Events

Throughout the year WFN holds other fundraising and engagement events ranging from intimate dinners with supporters, winner talks, events as part of our Next Gen programme, and major initiatives such as Royal dinners, Galas and Biodiversity Summits which will require the EOA’s assistance.

• Manage ticketing and Q&A platforms and associated activities
• Coordinate volunteer involvement where required
• Support the organisation and logistics of fundraising and engagement events, including acting as venue liaison, arranging catering, managing guest lists, etc
• Assist with production of event materials as needed (signage, name badges, merchandise).

 OFFICE ADMINISTRATION AND OPERATIONS

Smooth running of the WFN office and systems is vital for the charity to work effectively, with this role helping to support the team. The WFN office is a busy and welcoming environment, with regular visits by winners and supporters.

Office Management

• Ensure the office is a welcoming, tidy, and well-functioning space
• Greet visitors and manage incoming calls, emails, and enquiries
• Liaise with team and suppliers to order office materials and manage contracts (utilities, cleaning, stationery, refreshments, merchandise etc.)
• Manage post, deliveries, and waste removal procedures
• Oversee and liaise with the office cleaners to ensure they have the products they need and are paid in a timely manner.

Administrative Support

• Assist with diary management and scheduling meetings (in person and online)
• Arrange team and visitor travel, accommodation, and hospitality logistics
• Draft routine correspondence, thank-you letters, and other administrative communications
• Review and respond to general email enquiries (info inbox)
• Support the Head of Finance with basic administrative and data entry tasks
• Help maintain and update WFN’s CRM database (currently Salesforce) with contacts, donors, suppliers, event attendees
• Support the team with data entry, filing, record keeping, and maintaining digital and physical systems.

Your work will involve planning and delivering a range of fundraising activities aimed at raising charitable donations from alumni and other supporters. The Fundraising Administrator is a key support role within Muslim Charity’s Community Engagement and Fundraising Team. You will help deliver smooth, effective fundraising operations by supporting events, campaigns, volunteer engagement and community activities. Islamic Relief UK (IRUK) is actively recruiting for the position of ‘Challenges Lead’ to be based from anywhere in the UK that Islamic Relief has an office. These office locations include; London (Whitechapel/Waterloo), Leicester, Birmingham, Manchester, Bradford and Glasgow.

Islamic Relief Worldwide (IRW) is a faith-based humanitarian relief and development organisation working to save and transform the lives of some of the world’s most vulnerable people.  Established in 1984, with an active presence in over 45 countries, we strive to make the world a better and fairer place for those affected by poverty, conflict and natural disasters. IRUK’s focus is strengthening effective funding, mobilising for change through advocacy and awareness-raising, and strengthening programme development and delivery. IRUK works with various partners and institutions, from governments, non-governmental organisations and local authorities to grassroots communities.

Job Purpose:

• To coordinate the development and delivery of Fundraising Challenges Events, nationally and internationally, with the objective of engaging the community on a grass-roots level in line with the IRUK fundraising strategy
• To work closely with the Community Fundraising team to promote the mass participation of events that will lead to participation and fundraising
• To deliver stewardship journeys for participants and supporters
• To successfully project manage multiple national fundraising initiatives.

The successful candidate must have:

• Proven experience in challenges coordination and/or management
• Significant experience of fundraising through organising and delivering challenges, and/or mass participation activities
• Experience of the development, delivery, monitoring and evaluation of plans and budgets
• Experience of delivering exceptional donor/customer care
• Experience in supporter stewardship
• Experience of using a range of effective communication channels to promote fundraising activities
• Experience in negotiating and managing contracts with vendors and suppliers
• Experience of managing own workload effectively, planning and organising work to meet deadlines
• Experience of working effectively without close supervision dealing with problems as they arise
• Experience and comfortability of working within a fast-paced environment
• Experience working with and supervising volunteers
• A thorough understanding of the different types of fundraising challenges
• Good understanding of charity law, policy and regulatory environment within the charity sector
• Knowledge of the Fundraising Regulators code of practice
• Able to work flexible hours (including unsociable hours and weekends)
• Proficient use of Asana, Trello or other project management tools
• Excellent event/challenge management skills – from conception, promotion to production and delivery
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce correspondence to a high standard
• Creative thinking skills
• Able to exercise diplomacy where required
• Excellent communication skills – written, oral and listening with the ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with a diverse range of individuals who may be supporters, participants, donors or volunteers
• Strong project management and team coordination skills, including the ability to use planning tools
• Strong networking skills
• Proven organisational skills with the ability to work on multiple activities at one time
• Excellent administration skills – able to keep thorough, accurate and up to date records
• Competent user of Raisers Edge, Microsoft D365 or other relationship management databases
• Understanding and experience of health and safety regulations and risk assessments in relation to organising events and challenges
• Educated to ‘A’ level or equivalent
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office software in particular, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
