Location
This position is based remotely. But you must be a resident of the United Kingdom with all the necessary legislative ‘right to work’ documentation. You will be required to attend the charity’s head office located in Norfolk a minimum of 6 times per year and this will be at your own expense for travel and accommodation.

You will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as being a collaborative team member. You will be supported by the Head of Public Fundraising to achieve transformational results across Individual Giving and Legacies. Bristol Charities mission is to provide opportunities and support for people and communities to improve lives through grants, housing and charitable projects.
They are at a very exciting time in their development and have created a new role of Director of Fundraising & Communications to help them on their journey. This a new role that will play a crucial part in shaping the future of the charity as well as securing the resources to deliver sustainable growth in the work and impact of the charity.
Going forward their work will be delivered though a distinctive and coherent Community Hub model, which will be holistic, person-centred, integrated, joined-up, and promote a partnership approach. They also purchased The Vassall Centre in 2021, with long term plans to redevelop the site for community benefit.
In the short term they plan to relaunch the Vassall Centre as a standout, accessible, and affordable workspace venue for charitable organisations. Their community Hubs will include directly delivered Bristol Charities programmes/projects, services delivered by local partners, and services delivered by their strategic partners. They are also looking to increase the number of housing units they manage, either through development of their existing sites, through acquisition of new sites or through partnership working with other local housing providers, and any new Housing Schemes will incorporate the new Hub model.
Bristol Charities now need to recruit an experienced, passionate, and entrepreneurial fundraising professional; someone who is capable of not only overseeing a small but growing communications function, but who also recognises the importance of aligning fundraising and communications strategies and activity.
With this role, there will be the opportunity to build a fundraising function from scratch and lead on the fundraising and communications strategy for the charity, at a time of exciting change. Day One, the charity that helps people rebuild their lives after catastrophic injury, is seeking an inspiring leader to create a strong, sustainable plan for their fundraising and communications team and build on solid fundraising foundations to grow income.
Day One is a young, ambitious national charity dedicated to supporting people impacted by catastrophic injury. They currently deliver dedicated services in six regions and have a presence in seven NHS Major Trauma Centres. They also provide a national support service to people anywhere in the UK. Day One works extremely closely with NHS clinical services, delivering support at the bedside in the immediate aftermath of a major trauma, but also has a strong focus on the trauma networks and wider community where people are often alone and isolated trying to recover from their injuries.
Day One was registered as a charity in May 2021 and since that time has embarked on an incredible journey of development and expansion. With a growing, loyal and valued community of supporters and a powerful sphere of influence, the charity wants to do much more, aiming to have a presence across all NHS Major Trauma Centres and networks across the UK.
Key to that ambition will be a new Fundraising and Communications Director. This is a great role for an experienced senior fundraising leader to shape the charity’s future direction, building on an extremely successful start and a commitment from the Board and leadership team to invest in the right candidate who can deliver a compelling vision for fundraising and communications.
Reporting to the Chief Executive, the role will provide leadership and guidance on fundraising and communications as well as sitting on the Senior Leadership Team. The post-holder will be responsible for developing and delivering a fundraising strategy that has the right balance of ambition and realism for the next three to five years, and to grow income to £1million over the next four years, taking advantage of the unique fundraising opportunity that is available to the charity at this current time.
The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of securing significant gifts and partnerships, as well as substantial experience of senior fundraising leadership. · Share best practice and learning from other charities across the Trussell network.
· Support our partnership work with other Trussell based foodbanks in Surrey to address poverty.
Through this new organisational role, you will proactively create and grow fundraising income opportunities with individuals, community groups, the faith sector and grant giving trusts and foundations. The Membership & Fundraising Co-ordinator is a new role, the need for which has emerged from the museum’s continued growth.
The post holder with be tasked with formalising a fundraising function within the Museum: integrating and developing existing schemes whilst identifying and undertaking new projects to raise funds to support the charitable objectives of The Tank Museum.
Primarily the role will focus on “public fundraising” activity (rather than making applications to grant making bodies), using the Museums existing and sizeable international online audiences as a base for support.
Specifically, this will include:
- The management of The Tank Museums membership schemes (Friends, Patreon & YouTube Membership) – developing retention and recruitment strategies, measuring and reporting on satisfaction, and member communications/engagement.
- Seeking corporate sponsorship opportunities for The Tank Museum’s online activity & assist in the management of existing key strategic partnerships relationships.
- Manage fundraising projects (such as vehicle conservation/restoration projects), liaising with internal colleagues, ensuring targets are met, and our communities of supporters engaged and appreciated.
- Identify opportunities for small scale fundraising projects – for example, where capex can be supported by public donations.
- Running e-bay auctions, raffles, etc, in support of museum fundraising objectives.
- Establish administration required to support existing fundraising activity (such as a new CRM system) – and the potential for increased activity in the future.

The Fundraising Officer supports the generation of income, principally for Groundwork activities across the East of England. Working with business development colleagues and delivery staff you will help to identify income sources, approach funders and partners, develop and write bids, and contribute towards the annual income of the Trust.
Salary range : £26,182 - £30,832 pro rata (depending on relevant experience)
Term: Min 22.5 hours – Max 25 hours per week, permanent
Location: East of England, with opportunities for home working
In this role, you will monitor the external funding environment to identify suitable sources of charitable trust and foundation funding and tender opportunities for projects and programmes of activity. You will use your communication skills to write high quality, persuasive copy that brings the charities work to life for potential funders, such as charitable trusts, BIG lottery, local authorities and central government. Ideally, you will have experience of successful grant funding from Trusts, foundations, lottery distributors or similar, together with demonstrable experience of undertaking high quality research.
