About this opportunity
We are looking to recruit a Lead Support Volunteer for the Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale Group. As a Lead Support Volunteer, you will be coordinating the support team, representing the needs of people affected by MS and our services and collate information about relevant local organisations. 2. Front of House / Chaperone
· Help assist with events management in many areas which can align to your personal goals
· Potentially take on specific event tasks (i.e. events logistics including set up/pack down, running a stall at fundraising events etc.)
· Serve as a point of contact for students and parents ensuring a welcoming and friendly atmosphere.
· Provide backstage support and supervision to children and young people – ensuring the children have a great experience
· Provide entertainment for groups (i.e. playing games, encouraging arts & crafts etc.)
· Help assist with moving children and young people to and from the stage and/or performance location
3. Stage / Production Crew
· In line with your personal experience and/or personal development goals, help assist with the technical and/or logistical needs of performances
· Support performance’s technical aspects; including set-up of equipment (lighting and/or sound), operation and pack down/get out
· Support performances with set design, build and/or production crew roles (stage management and stagehands)

InterVol is a student volunteering charity in the United Kingdom that connects students with volunteering opportunities locally and overseas. InterVol supports students to develop their skills with community projects in the UK and then use those skills to support the work of charitable partners overseas on health, education, refugee support, and conservation placements. What will I be doing?

On occasion, help the gardening team at Skanda Hafan, Dolgran (a fundraising venue for the hospice).
How much time should I give?
A seasonal time commitment of one day (5-6 hours) per week is requested for this green-fingered role but life doesn't always fit with our schedules so there is some flexibility! Some volunteers also support our occasional open garden events.

What training and support will I be given?
Our Gardeners receive induction and training and are invited to team development opportunities. They are supported by the Gardening Lead to feel confident in their role.

About the role:
Being a Toybox Trustee is an influential and valuable role. The Board of Trustees is responsible for the governance and strategic direction of the charity. In addition, you will oversee the financial, internal control, and risk management matters of the charity in line with good practice, our governing documents, and legal requirements. You will also play a key role in supporting Toybox’s Leadership Team to deliver the organisational strategy.
Time commitment – and our commitment to you
The Board meets four times a year, with two remote meetings and two in-person meetings. The remote meetings, scheduled in the afternoon, last 2.5 hours each. Of the two in-person meetings, one runs for three hours, while the December meeting is a full-day session.
This is an unpaid role, but expenses are paid for attendance at meetings and other Trustee activities.

At YBTC we are a small team who are growing to meet the needs of those affected by a brain
tumour in Yorkshire. Around 15 new cases of primary brain tumour are diagnosed in the region
every week.

The difference you will make to cats and people
At Cats Protection we help thousands of cats and kittens each year thanks to our dedicated and passionate volunteer groups. We have branches across the UK, all of which help our cats in different ways. Branches take in stray and abandoned cats and ensure they receive the veterinary care and attention they deserve; help raise funds, promote neutering and help spread cat welfare messages. Our branch team leader volunteers lead their local team by supporting and managing volunteers within their group, maintaining communications with both volunteers and employees, and helping promote a positive and professional image of Cats Protection.

What we need from you
You’ll be:
- Supporting your team of volunteers in all aspects of their roles, making sure volunteers are happy and confident
- Making sure the team observes charity best practice and compliance
- Collaborating with your Branch Development Manager (BDM) to plan volunteer activity
- Leading the team to follow Cats Protection policies, procedures and guidelines
- Monitoring expenditure and helping ensure long term financial stability of the volunteer group
- Organising and chairing team meetings
- Acting as an ambassador for Cats Protection
Time expectation
Our branch team leader volunteers usually spend 10 to 15 hours per week in this role, which is flexible and can be shared by more than one volunteer if needed. There will be times of year when more hours are required, such as towards the end of the financial year, but support and guidance are available.
