Job Title:         Senior Relationship Manager – West Scotland

Location:         Home based within the West of Scotland.

Candidates should ideally reside in Highland, Moray & bordering with Aberdeenshire, Renfrewshire, Inverclyde, Argyll & Bute, Glasgow & Surrounding areas, Ayrshire, Dumfries & Galloway, Falkirk, Stirling & Clackmannanshire. Have access to a vehicle as there is a requirement to be able to travel across the region to attend meetings, events and training.

Hours:             35 hours per week

Contract type: Permanent

Salary:             £35,655 per annum (Home Based)

What we’re looking for:

• Someone who can drive a high level of engagement to proactively identify, support, and retain our supporters. They will have strong communication skills, with the credibility and authority to inspire others.

• A successful track record of building strong internal and external relationships and generating income from community and corporate opportunities.

• You will have a growth mindset which is solution focused. You can manage your time and workload, and utilise our given processes, systems, and parameters to overcome barriers. 

• You will be able to deliver a personal portfolio within an overall Regional Fundraising team target, demonstrating an understanding of how to mitigate risk and maximise return on investment.

Community Fundraiser

My Name’5 Doddie Foundation

At My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, we want to change the world. We believe motor neuron disease is not incurable. It’s just underfunded. 

Building a community is at the heart of everything we do. Every conversation and every person has the potential to be a part of that community and bring us closer to a world free of MND.

This is the first time we have sought to recruit a fundraiser based outside Scotland. Alongside the other community fundraiser, you will work with supporters across the UK. We are keen to further grow our presence and visibility, and you will be a core part of this.

You will be a crucial part of a dynamic team, working closely with our Senior Development and Engagement Manager within the fundraising team. You will be a first point of contact for fundraising enquiries, build meaningful and lasting relationships and actively seek fundraising opportunities. 

Our ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role or in a role focused on relationship building with fundraising, volunteering or events experience. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be dedicated to improving people’s lives.

Job Description

• Alongside our other Community Fundraiser, the post holder will be the first point of contact for the Fundraising team. The broad responsibilities will be:
• Building and maintaining strong fundraising relationships
• Provide 1 to 1 support with our fundraisers and help them maximise the activities and continue that support throughout their stewardship so we retain their support.
• Help with the delivery and development of an exciting and busy events programme.

Key Responsibilities

People-focused

• Providing outstanding supporter care as the key contact for fundraising enquiries at the Foundation.
• Coaching and supporting fundraisers to ensure they can maximise their efforts and that they enjoy their experience.
• Building strong networks and relationships with supporters to increase long term repeat support.
• Ensuring Foundation stewardship processes are followed throughout the supporter journey.
• Attending events to represent My Name’5 Doddie Foundation.
• Support on larger special project events e.g Great North Run 

Behind the scenes

• Working with our Fundraising Administrator help collating and sending fundraising packs, auction items and event materials.
• Maintaining the Foundation’s supporter database and keeping their details up to date.
• Maintaining the fundraising calendar of activities and tasks.
• Maintaining confidentiality of information, observing data protection laws, and adhering to fundraising code of practice at all times.
• Actively seek new fundraising opportunities across the UK.
• Work with the Senior Community, Volunteering and Events Manager to deliver annual operations plans.
• Support with other incomes streams including corporate fundraising, regular giving, legacy and in-memory. Along with our volunteer programme.

Salary – £30k-£35k

Duration – Full-time – 2 years fixed term

Annual Leave – 25 days (plus 8 days bank holiday)

Working Hours – 37.5 hours per week. Some weekend work will be required.

As a key ambassador for the charity, you will play an important role in raising awareness, growing community engagement, and supporting income generation through a variety of fundraising and engagement activities.

Working closely with colleagues across the fundraising team, you will develop and strengthen relationships with supporters, community groups, schools, businesses, and local organisations. You will attend and organise events, deliver presentations, host visits, and help create memorable experiences that encourage long-term support.

The role combines both face-to-face and digital engagement, offering plenty of variety and opportunities to make a genuine impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with supporters and community groups.
• Identify opportunities to increase engagement in areas with lower supporter activity.
• Represent the organisation at community events, open days, careers fairs, volunteer fairs, and educational establishments.
• Deliver engaging presentations and talks to a wide range of audiences.
• Support the development of educational outreach programmes and resources.
• Organise and attend supporter events, cultivation activities, and community engagement initiatives.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop supporter pipelines and increase fundraising income.
• Manage supporter records and activity using CRM systems.
• Provide guidance and support to individuals and groups undertaking fundraising activities.
• Assist with special projects and provide support across the wider fundraising team when required.

About You

• Willingness to travel extensively throughout the region.

Desirable

• Experience in fundraising or the charity sector.

• Fundraising-related qualification.

•Salary: £26,000-£28,000 per annum

•Location: Remote, you need to be based in one of the regions: Worcestershire, Gloucestershire or Herefordshire (or on/just over the border).
