As a welcome desk volunteer, you will be the welcoming face of Magpas Air Ambulance at our exciting new base in Alconbury Weald.
You will greet visitors at the centre, addressing any needs whilst giving exceptional customer service. You will contact relevant staff members when appropriate and signpost people into our visitor centre experience. In between greeting guests, you may be taking enquiries, processing the sale of merchandise, taking and counting donations or assisting us with other essential administration tasks.
As a welcome desk volunteer, you will be expected to:

Main Purpose of the role: To provide a reception service for Mind in Somerset.
Key tasks:
To be the first point of contact for the Mind in Somerset reception function.
Greet all, welcome and help navigate visitors within our offices.
Supply refreshments if people need to wait.
Answer the telephone and support with general administration including responding to e-mail queries.
Providing service users with a signposting and information
Basic administrative support as required e.g. photocopying, scanning, making phone calls, booking venues for training or events, booking rooms.
Liaising with fellow volunteer receptionists to ensure rota is covered
Effectively take and distribute messages to relevant project leads
Dealing with Post and Deliveries
To attend the organisation update meeting
Abide by health and safety guidelines and share responsibility for own safety and that of colleagues

About We Are Family
We Are Family is an extraordinary peer support community for adopters and prospective adopters. We’re there for parents throughout their adoption journey. Online and in person, our parents’ groups, events, resources, podcasts and talks offer mutual support, information and inspiration to adopters and those considering adoption. The Role
We are looking for new trustees to strengthen and enhance our board. The key responsibilities of the role include, governance, overseeing policy and direction, financial oversight and assisting with the leadership and general promotion of We Are Family to support the organisation’s Vision, Mission, Values and needs.
This is a voluntary opportunity with associated Trustee expenses - such as travel / childcare - covered by We Are Family. Trustees can be based anywhere in the UK.
Commitment
Trustee capacity to devote the time needed for the following is essential:

4 Board meetings per year

2 Board away days per year (on a Saturday)

Membership of at least one sub-committee (which also meet 4 times a year)
We estimate 8-10 hours for the charity per month. The duration of membership for a new Board member is for three years in the first instance, with the possibility of appointment for a further three year term.
Skills and Experience
All applicants should be able to demonstrate the following:

Previous board/trustee experience is not necessary and we welcome applications from all ages and backgrounds. A thorough induction, and further trustee training as appropriate, can be provided.

Trustees play a crucial and key role in the strategic direction and steering of Youth Mix, ensuring we are a fantastic youth-led organisation for young people aged 16 to 26 years old. Trustees will also ensure quality, stability and positive outcomes for both young people and our new charity as we continue our journey.
This is an exciting time for the Charity as we roll out our mentoring programme. Following strategic discussions, we are now looking to reinforce and enrich our Trustee Board to provide support and guidance to our Operational Team to enable them to achieve our ambitious 1 year and 3-year plans, whilst also ensuring robust succession plans in place for the Board.

Dove Lane is a 24 hour residential care service for adults with Learning Disabilities. We currently have 5 residents, male and female.
We have a volunteer opportunity available at Dove Lane, Harrold, Bedfordshire. We are located in Harrold, and as we are a rural area with limited public transport, if you are a car driver with access to your own vehicle you may find it easier to travel to us, we have onsite parking available. We are flexible on the days and times for your volunteering sessions.
We are looking for volunteers to deliver fun and engaging activity sessions. If you have a particular skill, or a general enthusiasm for all things arts and crafts we’d love to hear from you! The sessions can include board games, baking sessions, knitting clubs, music lessons, origami, gardening, our residents are keen to get involved!
There are other ways to volunteer too, our service has a lovely garden and we’d love help to build a sensory garden and really make the most of the space. You would be helping a member of staff to create an area where our residents can enjoy the outdoors during the spring and summer months.
