ALAG (Asperger London Area Group) has been a registered charity since 2015. ALAG is a pan-London membership community organisation, working in partnership with statutory services and the voluntary sector to highlight the needs of autistic adults. We are dedicated to seeking practical initiatives and solutions when supporting individuals to come to terms with their diagnosis and to providing the tailored support that is essential to their wellbeing. One such initiative is the Autism Hub, a user-led Islington/Camden initiative for autistic adults which was established in 2018.

ALAG is looking to appoint a new Treasurer/Trustee, following the retirement of the current post holder in March 2024. This is a key position on the Trustee Board and the candidate will be joining the charity at a crucial stage in its development. The successful candidate will have a background in finance, strategy, governance and risk management. The Treasurer would be expected to develop a close relationship with the CEO/Lead Coordinator as well as with the Board. The Treasurer will oversee financial matters for the charity and provide constructive advice to the CEO/Lead Coordinator. They will also report to the Board of Trustees at regular intervals about the overall financial health of the organisation.

What will you be doing?

The new Trustee/Treasurer is needed to give advice on the Society’s strategic plans at a time of increased uncertainty about the level of support for our national activities.

In past years the Society has held very successful annual events but now, due to uncertainty about the current and future level of support for these events - organised by ambitious, experienced volunteers.  Consequently the board members now need support and guidance to ensure confidence in the financial viability of on-going plans and to ensure that funds are properly managed.

Experience in accounts preferably with awareness of charitable governance, analysis and evaluation skills, ability to communicate and explain financial information, people handling and leadership skills

Glenrothes Foodbank are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by the Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger in local communities across the UK. They don’t believe anyone within the community should have to face going hungry, that’s why the Foodbank are committed to addressing poverty and hunger locally, providing three days' worth of nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to individuals referred to them during times of crisis.

The opportunity has arisen for a new Trustees to join the Board of Glenrothes Foodbank, to strategically guide the organisation forward.

The Role of Trustee:

As a Trustee, your role will be pivotal in shaping the priorities and vision for the foodbank. You'll play a crucial part in engaging with strategic planning, developing action plans to drive the Foodbank forward, and ensuring policies and procedures are robust. Working in collaboration with the Board, you’ll oversee the organisation’s operations, manage paid staff members and oversee financial matters, ensuring that the activities of the foodbank are in the interests of beneficiaries.

You should align with Glenrothes Foodbank’s values and have a passion, interest, and commitment to tackling food poverty across Glenrothes and its local communities. We are interested in candidates with skills or experience in the following areas: finance, law (specifically charity law), fundraising, property and estates management, experience leading an organisation. • Comply with its governing document, charity law, company law and all other relevant law, legislation and/or regulations;

The Gold Standards Framework (GSF) - Trusees

The Gold Standards Framework (GSF) is seeking new Trustees to join its Board who have business development, finance, charity or fundraising expertise or experience, who might be interested in this area, as well as others interested in social care, education or palliative or end of life care

The GSF is a registered charity and has been the UK’s leading training provider for generalist frontline staff in caring for people in the last years of life for over 25 years. GSF is a practical and evidence-based end of life care improvement programme.

Its aim is to enable a ‘gold standard’ of care for everyone, with any condition, in any setting, given by any care provider, at any time in a person’s last years of life.

Duties

The statutory duties of a trustee board member are to:

· ensure Citizens Advice Westminster complies within its governing document (Articles of Association), charity law, company law and any other relevant legislation or regulations.

· ensure Citizens Advice Westminster pursues its objects as defined within its governing document.

· ensure Citizens Advice Westminster applies its resources exclusively in pursuance of its objects.  For example, it must not spend money on activities which are not included in the objects. 

· contribute actively to the board of trustees by giving form strategic direction to the organisation, setting overall policy, defining foals, setting targets and evaluating performance against agreed targets.

· safeguard the good name and values of Citizens Advice Westminster, and the national Citizens Advice service.

· ensure the financial stability of the organisation.

Each trustee should use any specific skills and knowledge or experience they have to help the board of trustees reach sound decisions. 

This may involve leading discussions, identifying key issues, providing advice and guidance on new initiatives, and evaluating or offering advice on other areas in which the trustee has particular expertise or lived experience. 

All trustees are required to complete an induction programme for their role.

How much time do you need to give?

We would expect trustees to commit to at least five days each year for Board meetings, with additional time is also required for reading papers and other communication, as well as completion of mandatory Trustees training modules annually and triennially. 

We hold Board meetings at least four times a year (plus the Annual General Meeting) to discuss and make decisions concerning the business of the organisation.  The meetings alternate between virtual and in-person meetings in central London, and are usually held between 6-8pm. 

The Finance and General Purposes Committee meets virtually four times a year during office hours.

All Trustees will receive a thorough in-depth induction upon appointment, followed by regular skills audits and appraisals.

STAMP Revisited is a small but ambitious charity, which provides advocacy and emotional support to those experiencing mental health difficulties. We support them to access vital services they need that they would not be able to access independently.  We have already supported thousands of the most disadvantaged people to have their voice heard and respected.

We are currently recruiting a new Treasurer to join our Board of Trustees. As a Trustee of STAMP Revisited, you will play a crucial role in setting the strategic direction of the charity and ensuring good governance.  You will contribute to ensuring that the charity fulfils its mission, operates effectively, and remains accountable to those experiencing mental health issues.

In addition to the general duties as Trustee, as Treasurer you will play a pivotal role in securing the financial integrity and sustainability of our charity. You will ensure that effective and appropriate financial measures are put in place and report to the Board at regular intervals about the financial health of the organisation.

We are looking for additional trustees to help Uttlesford Food Bank meet demand for our services. Experience of strategy development, press/PR and/or charity governance would be extremely useful.  We welcome applications from current volunteers and partner agencies, but are also keen to hear from candidates not currently working with us who want to help their local community.

We would like to have greater representation from South Uttlesford and would encourage applicants from Dunmow, Stansted and the surrounding areas.  We would particularly like applicants who may have used a foodbank and experienced some of the issues our clients face. Treasurer needed for an established psychotherapy charity. We are part way through a change process at Share having moved premises in 2023. We are developing and strengthening our clinical services, improving our administrative and business systems and strengthening our financial position. We want to build upon our position as a centre of excellence in psychotherapy and make an even bigger contribution to improving mental health in Sheffield.

Would you like to volunteer for an established psychotherapy charity? We work at the vital intersection of psychological distress and poverty in the city and provide an excellent learning environment for qualified and qualifying counsellors and therapists alike.

We’re looking for a suitably qualified accountant to join us as our Treasurer, taking the lead on financial matters but also playing a full role on the Board of Trustees in the overall management of the charity.

The role would suit an experienced accountant wishing to contribute on a voluntary basis to a valuable charitable cause. Equally it would provide excellent board level experience for a young professional at an earlier stage in their career.

We have strong clinical services, administrative and business systems in place and continue to seek to increase and diversify our income.
