This is a unique opportunity to join an organisation at an exciting stage of its development, helping to establish and shape a grant management function that will underpin the delivery of impactful charitable programmes and partnerships.
Grant Manager
Salary: £55,000 - £60,000
Contract: 12-month Fixed Term Contract, Immediate Start
Location: Home-based with occasional travel to London
This organisation exists to support mission-driven initiatives and charitable projects. Working with a diverse portfolio of programmes and partners, the organisation enables charitable teams to focus on delivering meaningful change while benefiting from robust governance, compliance and operational support.
As the organisation continues to grow, they are seeking an experienced Grant Manager to design, establish and oversee their grant management function. Reporting to the Operations Director, you will play a key role in developing systems, processes and frameworks that support both incoming and outgoing grants, ensuring strong governance, compliance and effective grant delivery across the organisation.
This is far more than a traditional grants administration role. You will help shape organisational approaches to grant-making, develop scalable systems and processes, support stakeholders across multiple projects, and ensure grant funding is managed effectively from application through to reporting and closure.
As Grant Manager, you will:
- Lead the implementation and ongoing development of grant management systems, policies and processes.
- Oversee due diligence, compliance monitoring and risk management across grants, partners and funding relationships.
- Manage portfolios of restricted and unrestricted funding, ensuring effective monitoring, reporting and compliance.
- Support and oversee grant-making processes, including application assessment, awards, monitoring and close-out activities.
- Build organisational capability through training, guidance and best practice support for internal teams and project stakeholders.
You will bring:
- Significant experience in grant management within the charity, non-profit or philanthropic sector.
- Strong knowledge of grant compliance, due diligence, risk management and funder requirements.
- Experience managing the full grant lifecycle, including monitoring, reporting and grant closure.
- Experience implementing or improving grant management systems, processes and operational frameworks.
- Excellent stakeholder management, training and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively in a developing and evolving organisation.
This role would particularly suit an experienced grant professional who enjoys building systems, improving processes and creating structure within a growing organisation. It offers a rare opportunity to make a lasting impact by establishing a grant management function from the ground up while supporting a diverse range of charitable initiatives and funding programmes.
