About the role
Our moderators manage Facebook groups of up to 18,000 virtual challenge participants. You will be working with some of the biggest names in the sector, supporting them to raise five and six figure sums.
This role is perfect for skilled fundraisers who can provide excellent supporter care, and is best suited as an additional source of income (the majority of our team are freelancers and consultants). You must be able to begin moderation at 9am (or earlier), wrap up by 9pm and adhere to our sub-three hour response time.
As a Fundraising Group Moderator, you would be responsible for:

Responsible Finance is the membership association for the UK’s Community Development Finance Institutions (CDFIs). CDFIs are community lenders, committed to delivering positive social impact, and offer fair and affordable finance to businesses, social enterprises and to people unable to access it elsewhere.
This is a pivotal moment to be joining the CDFI sector. Responsible Finance and CDFIs are poised for exciting growth following two record-breaking funding announcements in late 2024 which has seen the sector backed by Government and leading financial institutions including the British Business Bank and JPMorgan Chase. This follows Lloyds Banking Group becoming the first mainstream lender to invest in the CDFI sector earlier in the year.
This new funding will enable business-lending CDFIs to scale their reach and impact, supporting economic growth and financial inclusion across the UK. Successful candidates will play a vital role in helping to make sure that CDFIs are supported to build their operational capacity and maximise the opportunity this brings.
We are seeking an exceptional candidate to help us to deliver an ambitious Capacity Building programme for our business-lending CDFIs and support our wider and growing member base, particularly our social enterprise lenders. You will manage the delivery of key projects within both the Capacity Building programme and more broadly to support our CDFIs across the personal, micro, business and social enterprise lending sectors. The role requires close working with our members and stakeholders and high levels of versatility and flexibility to deliver outstanding results.

The Programme Manager will manage the delivery of key projects and support the Programme Director in overseeing the smooth running of a Programme Management Office (PMO), ensuring that the CEO and Board have the information needed to steer the success of the Capacity Building Programme and other projects and programmes.
The role-holder will also be the relationship owner for Responsible Finance’s social enterprise CDFIs with responsibility for driving the continuous improvement of our member support to this sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project managing the delivery of key work streams and projects such as the award and monitoring of grants to support capacity building and Requests for Proposal (RFPs) for the delivery of training.
- Monitoring the progress of projects, identifying issues and proposing solutions, and maintaining and producing a range of high-quality project documentation (plans, risk and issues registers etc) to support effective delivery – and leading on project and programme board meetings.
- Working closely with CDFIs and stakeholders to identify needs, lead problem-solving, provide support to overcome challenges, and commission reports on progress – synthesising these reports into overall progress reports and presenting back to the programme oversight group and main grant-funder (JPMorgan Chase).
- Developing RFPs (Request for Proposals) and leading procurement and ongoing contract management of external suppliers to deliver strands of the Capacity Building Programme.
- Further development of Responsible Finance’s support offer for social enterprise lending members, being the day-to-day point of contact and organising and leading sector meetings with these members.

This project is a development from the first Realising the Benefits of World Heritage to Local Communities (RtB) project funded by Historic England. While the original project identified the problems faced by the World Heritage sector in engaging communities, this second phase of RtB is designed to help World Heritage UK (WHUK) and the wider sector in fully understanding who World Heritage Site communities are, and the challenges Sites and communities face in engaging wider and more diverse communities. Working with Sites, and their communities WHUK will co-create a sustainable platform in which to identify actions and solutions which will widen engagement and participation in World Heritage.
Through this collaborative approach which will inform every element of the work, the primary purpose of this 2.5-year project is to ensure WHUK can better support World Heritage Sites in the UK in engaging communities, growing audiences, enhancing community participation and growing a wider diversity of audiences and engagement within UK WHSs and the wider heritage sector.
Overall Purpose of the Role:
- Develop and improve relationships within the World Heritage sector and communities
- Develop an ongoing platform for a network of professionals who work within the World Heritage and community engagement field to come together to share and develop ideas and projects
- Develop digital resources
- Build a better understanding of who World Heritage communities are now, and use developed toolkits to understand and update this in the future

Working flexibly from home and reporting to the Strategy and Clinical Director, you will play a core role in our small team. The role suits a proactive self-starter who is fully conversant with Xero and is confident and happy working independently on their own initiative. Bookkeeping, invoicing, expenses and treasury (approx. 35% of role)
- Manage the working relationship with an outsourced bookkeeping team and manage the transition to bringing the bookkeeping function in house with immediate effect, using appropriate Xero linked apps such as Dext. Once transitioned, undertake posting of all income and expenditure to Xero including recording all VAT-related costs, application of appropriate exchange rates and verifying coding and project allocations with the projects team
- Reconcile bank transactions with the accounting records from Xero.
- Raise customer invoices on Xero as requested and authorised by Programmes Team. Ensure appropriate VAT treatment applied to sales invoices.
- Oversee use of the Xero app for scanning and uploading all expense receipts.
- Ensure all relevant invoices & expenses receipts are filed appropriately.
- Process any payments or expenses through the bank account ensuring adherence to agreed levels of delegated authority.
- Make international payments via business banking or other platforms as needed.
- Check and complete VAT returns to HMRC in accordance with statutory requirements. Ensure returns are appropriately approved and submitted on time, with associated payment made to HMRC.
Payroll (approx. 5% of role)
- Manage working relationship with outsourced payroll services team and manage the transition to bringing the payroll function in house through Xero, with immediate effect.
- Compute monthly payroll calculations for all staff including allocations for zero hours staff.
- Ensure all statutory payments are made on time i.r.o PAYE, NI, NEST pensions, childcare vouchers etc. Process salary payments through bank account.
- Post individual salary allocations to projects through Xero, based on authorised timesheets.
Cash flow and production of monthly management accounts (approx. 20% of role)
- Liaise with the project team in updating a monthly rolling cashflow for review by the Strategy and Clinical Director and Board as required.
- Produce monthly management accounts reconciling back to the balance sheet.

- Demonstrated finance qualification, ideally ACA/CIMA or ACCA. Undergraduate degree in Accounting with at least 5 years relevant experience will also be considered.

The role
Overcoming MS is the world’s leading healthy lifestyle organisation for people with MS, recommending a holistic, evidence-based seven-part Program of healthy lifestyle habits that will impact symptom load as well as disease progression. The Program is based upon the work of Professor George Jelinek, who evaluated all the research on lifestyle and MS to create the original version of his book, Overcoming Multiple Sclerosis. In recent years, there has been ever increasing interest in lifestyle and MS, and the body of research is systematically increasing. Overcoming MS therefore has a need for someone to regularly review the most recent research, update our Program recommendations, and ensure we communicate the latest updates with our community – working alongside our Medical Advisor. In the medium to longer term, we would like to identity research gaps and have a role in influencing, or even commissioning, lifestyle research to add to the current research base.
Key Responsibilities:
- To oversee the Overcoming MS Program recommendations, ensuring our advice always adheres to the latest and most robust evidence.
- To review each of the seven Overcoming MS pillars, review the evidence available, making any changes as needed. Work with the team to communicate any changes within the community, including leading the development of new tools and guides as needed (eg How to talk to your GP about testing vitamin D levels).
- To identify gaps in the existing Program based on new research (eg sleep, intermittent fasting etc), reviewing the evidence base and making recommendations on adaptations and support tools (subject to IP owner approval).
- To foster solid relationships with key stakeholders (including Facilitators and expert advisors) to ensure buy in and understanding in any updates or changes to research evidence and the Program.

About the role
We’re seeking an exceptional and experienced project manager to deliver a pivotal role within our ground-breaking national Kinship Training and Support Service, funded by the Department for Education.
This is our largest contract, and this role is key to enabling our organisational activity. The service offers over 300 online and in-person training events and workshops per year, tailored to meet the specific needs of kinship carers. We need to ensure at least 4,600 kinship carers attend.
You’ll be accountable for successful project delivery, working with executive project sponsors (Chief Operating Officer and Services and Digital Director) and workstream leads (Associate Directors and Heads of departments) to deliver KPI’s to deadlines, escalating and managing risks early.
