Cats Protection is the UK’s leading feline welfare charity and our vision is a world where every cat is treated with kindness and an understanding of its needs. Cats are at the centre of everything we do and our objectives are: homing, neutering and educating people about cats and their care. We help thousands of cats across the UK each year thanks to our network of dedicated volunteers, staff and supporters.

A bit about this role

As a charity we are able to help thousands of cats each year thanks to the generous donations we receive from members of the public. Our fundraising team leaders have the exciting and varied role of inspiring our fundraising volunteers to plan and deliver local fundraising events. Using their passion and imagination, they oversee a small team of fundraising volunteers who come together to raise the vital funds needed to cover costs such as veterinary bills and food. Our fundraising team leaders support their team of volunteers in all aspects of their roles, making sure our volunteers are happy, confident and supported.

What can you expect to be doing?

• Supporting and encouraging a team of fundraising volunteers in the Horsham and district area
• Planning fundraising events and activities with your team
• Allocating tasks before and during fundraising events
• Keeping financial records from fundraising events
• Encouraging and promoting a professional image of Cats Protection 
• Following policies and guidelines and ensuring licences and permits are obtained for events

A bit more information about this role and the team

• This is a flexible role. The amount of time you offer can work to your availability and convenience.
• There may be opportunities for your activities to be fully remote and/or admin based if you'd prefer.
• You will need your own transport if you wish to attend events, ideally a car or van since items, stock and equipment will usually be needed.
• We ask that you complete training to support you in your role. This can be completed online if you have access to the internet and the necessary device (computer/laptop/tablet etc). Support can be offered or paper versions of much of the training if needed.

Time expectation

Our fundraising team leaders usually spend three to four hours per week in this role, which is flexible and can be shared by more than one volunteer if needed.

Support, guidance and keeping you safe

At Cats Protection we believe our volunteers should be happy and confident in their roles. We provide support and guidance from our National Cat Centre and through our regional and local volunteer groups and teams. We offer engaging online and face-to-face training, expenses and have policies and processes to help volunteers get the most out of their time with us.

Dates: 2 February 2026 – 7 December 2026

Location: Remote (Online via Google Meet)

Commitment: 1 hour per week for 16 weeks

Location: Fully remote

Structure: We provide guidance, resources, and ongoing support, but there is no fixed curriculum.

Mentees: You will be paired with a small group of mentees (typically 6–9), aged 18–26, all fluent in English.

Scheduling: Mentors arrange sessions directly with mentees at mutually convenient times.

Who We’re Looking For

We welcome professionals from a wide range of industries. Our current mentors come from backgrounds including law, mental health, business, civil engineering, and architecture. Each mentor is carefully matched with students pursuing similar career paths to ensure meaningful and relevant engagement.

You do not need formal mentoring experience. We are seeking dedicated, emotionally intelligent, and inspirational professionals from around the world who bring real-world experience, strong communication skills, and empathy, and who are passionate about helping others grow.

This is not a traditional mentorship programme — it is a structured pathway designed to help young Afghan women develop the academic and professional skills needed to move forward despite the severe restrictions placed on them inside Afghanistan.

Applicants should hold either a master’s degree or a bachelor’s degree with at least 10 years of professional experience. They should demonstrate emotional intelligence, clarity in communication, and the ability to guide, inspire, and challenge thoughtfully. A reliable internet connection is also essential.

Our students have completed six levels of English and are now enrolled in one of four mentorship semesters. Each mentee follows her own unique path, whether:

• Pursuing an online university degree,

• Applying for scholarships abroad (Europe or the US), or

• Seeking remote work or internships (particularly for qualified professionals currently unable to work inside Afghanistan).

This is an opportunity to make a tangible, life-changing impact. The women in our programme are courageous, determined, and eager to learn, yet they lack access to role models and practical guidance from professionals in their fields.

As a mentor, you will help them take the next step, n whether that means applying for scholarships, building a career portfolio, or gaining the confidence and professional skills to work remotely.

Our long-term goal is to move towards a 1:1 mentor-to-student ratio, ensuring that each young woman receives the personalised support she deserves.

ROLE DESCRIPTION
Trustee – Funding & Bid Application Review

We are seeking a new Trustee to strengthen our multi-skilled and hard-working board, with specific expertise in funding and bid applications.

While we already have skilled board members and volunteers who can write strong funding applications, what we currently lack is the time and experience to:

• Research potential funding opportunities
• Review and filter which opportunities are worth pursuing
• Summarise and present recommendations to the Board and staff

This new Trustee role would add significant value to the work we already provide - by helping us focus our efforts on the most promising funding sources.

Skills and Background

We are open to a range of professional backgrounds. You may not be actively working or may have a little time free to support us in this role, but we are looking for people who can bring the following:

• Experience in bid applications, grant funding, or fundraising — particularly in identifying and assessing opportunities
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to weigh up eligibility, likelihood of success, and fit with our charity’s mission
• Confidence in working with information, making judgements, and communicating clear summaries to colleagues
• A background in areas such as fundraising, charity administration, project management, finance, business development, or legal/governance would all be relevant and useful

Commitment

As a Trustee, this voluntary role involves attending Board meetings, which are approximately every two months, an annual strategy day, occasional working groups and the AGM. Meetings are held in person where possible, with online options available. We also hold fundraising events, which you are warmly encouraged to support. The expected commitment is around 10 hours a month, including reviewing opportunities and communicating with fellow Trustees and staff via email, WhatsApp, or phone.

About Sanata Charitable Trust

The Sanata Charitable Trust is a registered charity and consists of two Trusts, one based in the United Kingdom, the other in Gilgil, Kenya.  The purpose of the UK Trust is to generate funds for the development and ongoing costs of the Restart Africa Children’s Centre.

Restart Africa children’s home was established in 2008 in response to the desperate needs of street children in Gilgil who are at serious risk of violence, abuse and starvation. Starting with 6 children, the centre has expanded over the years to a purpose-built home that currently has nearly 100 children in its care. Receiving no government funding, the centre is fully reliant on donations and sponsorship to finance operations. For the children in its care, Restart Africa fosters a loving, safe home, with meals, welfare and education, enabling them to enjoy their childhood and the opportunity to fulfil their potential. When it is time for the young adults to leave the permanent care of Restart, they are equipped with a qualification in their chosen field that will enable them to rejoin Kenyan society and build a success future for themselves. In conjunction with the life-changing benefits Restart Africa creates for those in its care, it also supports the local community by providing a range of employment opportunities in a safe and respectful working environment.

About the Role

The Marketing/Fundraising lead trustee role is being developed as part of our strategy to raise the profile of Restart Africa and diversify donation streams to ensure we grow sustainable financial foundations to underpin the amazing work of the Restart Africa centre. 

In addition to this Trustee role, we are also in the process of investing in a Marketing and Communications Executive which is a full time, permanent role based onsite at the Restart Africa centre.  The purpose of the role is to generate and publish emotionally engaging, authentic content that meets the needs of the varying stakeholder groups in a timely manner.

Main Trustee responsibilities:

· Provide the Board with strategic guidance for raising the profile of Restart Africa, diversifying donation streams, and addressing the ongoing engagement needs of differing stakeholder groups.

· Offer insights to the Board into advocacy trends, movement-building and changes in the fundraising landscape.

· Support the Marketing and Communications Executive in the development of the brand guidelines and strategy implementation.

· Communicate and coordinate actions required from fellow Trustees to support strategic implementation.

· Evaluate the channel/content performance and advise the Board on the success and challenges of the strategic implementation.

· Oversight of campaigns and marketing communications to ensure legal compliance, appropriate for the target stakeholders and are aligned with the charity’s policies and values.

Time Commitment

· 2 remote Board meetings per annum

· In person AGM, held in September

· Additional time as necessary to fulfil the requirements of the role

Skills and Personal Attributes

· Have the enthusiasm, passion and engagement in the charity purpose to commit to delivering the requirements of a voluntary role.

· Experience in creating and leading the successful execution of a multi-channel marketing strategy is essential.

· Experience in fundraising is desirable but not essential.

· Time spent in Kenya, or experience working with a Kenya based entity, is desirable but not essential.

As a Trustee, you’ll play a key role in supporting the NBN Trust’s mission by offering strategic guidance, oversight and specialist insight. Trustees share collective responsibility for ensuring the charity is well-governed, financially sustainable and operating in line with its charitable objectives.

Trustees are also responsible for meeting the legal duties set out by the Charity Commission, which include:

• Ensuring the charity is carrying out its purposes for the public benefit
• Complying with the charity’s governing document and the law
• Acting in the charity’s best interests
• Managing the charity’s resources responsibly
• Acting with reasonable care and skill
• Ensuring the charity is accountable

Trustees provide strategic direction, oversee performance and risk, and support the Chief Executive and staff team in achieving impact. While the role is non-executive, Trustees are expected to ask constructive questions, offer informed challenge, and act as ambassadors for the NBN Trust and its values.

As a Trustee, you’ll play a key role in supporting the NBN Trust’s mission by offering strategic guidance, oversight and specialist insight.

We are recruiting for two roles and are particularly keen to hear from applicants with experience in one of the two following areas. Applicants should demonstrate how they meet the required personal specification for one of the below areas.

Role 1: Strategic Finance: Strategic oversight of robust financial management ideally within the charity sector.

Role 2: Corporate Partnerships: Building and sustaining successful relationships between the corporate and charity sectors, leading to increased income generation and opportunities.

Alongside this, applicants should be able to articulate why they are drawn to the work of the NBN Trust and our mission.

Key Information

• Time Commitment: Approximately 15 days per year, including attendance at four Board meetings, Committee meetings, our annual conference and team workday as well as time for reading papers.
• As well as attending full board meetings, Trustees are expected to sit on one of our Committees, or sub-groups.
• Meeting Format: Board meetings are usually held in person at an accessible venue in London.
• Committee meetings are usually held online.
• Term: Trustees are appointed for a three-year term, with the option to renew for one further term.
• Applicants must currently reside in the UK.

Are you passionate about spirituality, creativity, and making a positive difference through the arts? The Spiritual Arts Foundation (SAF) is looking for a General Manager to help us coordinate, organise, and inspire our growing community of artists and volunteers.

The Spiritual Arts Foundation is the UK’s first arts organisation dedicated to exploring and promoting spirituality in the arts. Founded by musician and composer Clifford White, SAF now represents over 200 creative members — including artists, writers, filmmakers, performers, and musicians — each contributing their own unique perspective on spiritual creativity. Our website hosts hundreds of in-depth member articles, interviews, and features exploring the intersection between art, consciousness, and the human spirit.

We also run the Spiritual Creatives Meetup group, with more than 2,400 members, hosting events, talks, and creative gatherings both online and in person. Alongside this, we are developing exciting new projects including Spirit Songs, our upcoming record label, as well as plans for festivals, workshops, and exhibitions that celebrate and inspire spiritual creativity.

The General Manager will work closely with the Founder to turn ideas into action. This is a communications-focused, hands-on role that involves supporting volunteer teams, managing projects, coordinating events, and ensuring everything runs smoothly. You’ll help oversee multiple initiatives — from fundraising and planning new creative ventures to maintaining communication between teams and keeping projects on track.

Key areas of involvement include:

• Coordinating volunteers and team communication

• Helping to plan and schedule events, particularly for our Spiritual Creatives community

• Supporting the launch of Spirit Songs, our new record label

• Assisting with fundraising and partnership development

• Maintaining our online presence (WordPress and social media)

• Supporting creative planning and strategy alongside the Founder

This is an unpaid volunteer role, but if we are successful in raising funding, it has the potential to become a paid position for the right person.

This role would suit someone who is organised, practical, calm, and creative, with an interest in spirituality, arts, and community development. Experience in any of the following areas would be helpful — arts management, events, marketing, communications, or project coordination — but we are open to all backgrounds if you’re passionate and willing to learn.

You’ll be part of a welcoming, imaginative, and purpose-driven community, helping to shape the next chapter of the Spiritual Arts Foundation’s journey. The role is flexible, remote, and collaborative, allowing you to contribute in ways that suit your skills and availability.

As a charity we are able to help thousands of cats each year thanks to the generous donations we receive from members of the public. Our fundraising volunteers use their passion for cats and people to raise the vital funds needed to help more cats and kittens in need. As a fundraising volunteer we want to support you to fundraise in whatever way suits you best, whether that’s organising a fundraising event, fundraising online, promoting fundraising activities on social media, completing administration or supporting the development of new fundraising ideas! Whatever your skill set, this could be the role for you!

What we need from you

This is a really flexible role, you can choose what you’d like to get involved with, for example: 

• face-to-face fundraising. Organising or helping with fundraising events, running supermarket collections and fundraising stands, monitoring collection tins 

• online fundraising. Setting up online appeals and writing impactful cat case studies that maximise donations

• marketing. Spreading the word about our fundraising activities, for example on social media and with the local press  

• completing administration. Processing donations, sorting and recording donated goods, completing Gift Aid paperwork

● championing our work. Getting involved with developing new fundraising ideas and increasing community engagement

● photography. Capturing images of cats in care, cats we are helping, events and all things Cats Protection

Time expectation

This is a flexible role that can fit around your other commitments to suit you. You’ll be part of a team raising vital funds while having fun in the process!
