We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers who are passionate about physical activity and community wellbeing.

Project Resilience provides easily accessible opportunities for our hostel residents to take part in a variety of social and sporting activities to boost overall health and wellbeing.

You will play a key role in promoting healthy lifestyles by delivering fun, inclusive, and accessible physical activity sessions for people of all ages and abilities.

We would welcome qualified instructors from a range of activities such as:

·Boxercise

·Yoga

·Pilates

·Dance

·Football

·Basketball

·Circuit Classes

·Supported Gym workouts

This role offers a dynamic and rewarding opportunity to inspire and mentor vulnerable residents, contributing to their health and personal growth. Your commitment to excellence in coaching and resident engagement will not only enhance your professional skills but also make a significant impact on the community. 

You will :

·Plan and lead, safe, engaging fitness sessions for small groups of residents

·Adapt exercises to suit varying levels of mobility, ability, and health conditions.

·Monitor participants' safety and wellbeing during sessions.

·Encourage participation and build confidence through motivation and support.

·Log attendance and feedback as required.

·Work in line with safeguarding, health and safety, and risk assessment protocols.

Skills required:

·Recognised Fitness Qualification, Exercise Class Qualification or Sports Qualification, recognised in the UK

·You will be required to undertake mandatory e-learning and a menu of optional training will be made available

Are you detail-oriented and love keeping things organised? Assist with branch and event administration, manage schedules and branch calendars, and ensure everything runs smoothly currently being undertaken.

About Our Service... Hestia supports survivors of domestic abuse in London and the Southeast.

Our team provide support in 31 refuges across 11 London Boroughs. Last year Hestia supported 4,000 people to recover from the trauma of domestic abuse.

Anyone can be affected by domestic abuse, regardless of gender, age, race, or identity. Domestic abuse is not always physical violence, and it can take many forms including emotional, sexual abuse, coercive and controlling behaviour.

1 in 3 women and 1 in 7 men are affected by domestic abuse.

What you will be doing

• Coordinate and set up a weekly dance class
• Inspire and motivate individuals to participate in the sessions and take a role in planning/designing upcoming sessions
• Create a safe space for individuals to express themselves
• Keep a record of attendees, provide feedback and report any concerns to the staff team
• Support with beginner, first stage, gentle Bollywood dancing, using basic dance moves

The skills you need

• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to provide a supportive, and inclusive atmosphere that encourages learning and participation
• Calm and patient approach
• Experience in teaching dance classes desirable but not essential

About the role 

As a Regional Fundraising Volunteer, you will support Rethink Mental Illness in generating income, raising awareness, and building community engagement through local fundraising initiatives. The role will involve event planning and support, and public engagement to help achieve regional fundraising goals. 

You will play a major part in bringing to life regional fundraising activities in line with our “Rethink in the Community" concept and increase regional awareness to generate much needed additional income and amplify the impact of the work Rethink Mental Illness do.

You will receive training and regular supervision to ensure you feel confident in your role.

What you will be doing as a Regional Fundraising Volunteer: 

• Support and assist in organising and participating in local fundraising events.

• Take part in local initiatives acquiring donors and do it yourself fundraisers. 

• Increase awareness of the organisation’s work by helping to promote regional fundraising activity. 

• Represent the organisation at schools, community groups, and public events, delivering presentations to inspire support. 

• Communicate with supporters via phone, email, and face-to-face interactions. 

• Attend and contribute to meetings with the fundraising team and supporters to share updates and ideas.

The Lyric Hammersmith Theatre is one of London’s leading producing houses. We produce world class theatre from the heart of Hammersmith. The Lyric is committed to being part of the community, and we believe passionately in excellence and integrity in everything we do.

The Lyric’s Nomination Committee is seeking a new Chair for Lyric Hammersmith Enterprises Ltd, who will also serve as a Trustee of Lyric. The subsidiary is governed by a non-executive Board of Directors, chaired by this role.  Lyric Hammersmith Enterprises is responsible the Lyric’s non-charitable trading operations including catering, hires and events. Our commercial income is critical to helping the Lyric achieve its artistic and charitable objectives.

We are looking for a Chair with influence and authority, strategic thinking and sound judgement with particular expertise in commercial operations and income generation. You will need to share a passion for our artistic work and our commitment to being an equal, diverse, inclusive and environmentally sustainable organisation.

This role will serve as a Trustee to the charity, joining the existing Board for an initial three-year term. Trustees support the Chair, Lorraine Heggessey, and offer their expertise and guidance to the Executive Team.

We are particularly interested in those who have a strong connection with West London.

Trustee for Wokingham Pride

Do you want to support and increase the effectiveness of our LGBTQ+ charity?
You could be a trustee for Wokingham Pride, our family & disability-friendly organisation

Wokingham Pride is a small, grassroots Pride charity, and we are growing.  We are here for support to the LGBTQ+ community in the Wokingham Borough area all year round, and run an annual, family-friendly event in Wokingham town centre. That event is free, and everyone who supports the aims of Pride is welcome. We have a particular aim of being accessible to people with a disability or are neurodiverse, and to younger members of the community, along with their families, obviously all within a LGBTQ+ focus.

We have grown Pride from very small beginnings in 2019, registered as a charity in 2024 and expect to run a slightly larger event in 2025, with a team of volunteers to spread the workload, and a well-governed organisation to support them.

 Wokingham Pride is looking for more trustees to oversee our Governance and build our strategic vision.  Now a Charitable Incorporated Organisation, we will turnover ~£2.5k this year, with hope to at least double that in the next few years.

The role and what we are looking for in a new trustee

Trustees are the people who make the top-level decisions for our charity.
Our Board includes people from the LGBTQ+ community, and we are looking for allies and supporters to join as new trustees, as well as more members of the LGBTQ+ community. All trustees must be trans-inclusive and have a strong empathy with our beneficiaries and our activities.

Although we’d welcome people without experience of charity or of trusteeship, we are also looking for those with some experience of charity Governance, in order to raise our understanding of, and performance as, a Registered Charity.

If you can think strategically and plan long-term, you have the primary skills needed by our trustees; you’ll need to be able to work collectively with other Board members.

We are a charity not a business, but we apply business principles to governing our organisation. We want to expand the diversity of our board, in all meanings of the word, and strongly welcome applications from people from less-represented groups. 

The focus of a trustee is strategic, and trustees will not be expected to get directly involved in the organisation’s operations on a day-to-day basis; however, contact and liaison with our operational volunteers is expected.   

We ask for up to eight hours of your time per month, which includes all meetings, discussions, etc.  You will need access to digital communications, as much of our charity’s business is run that way.

You will need to be eligible to be a charity trustee, which we will explain. Trustee appointments are subject to satisfactory references.

You’ll be passionate, as we are at Community Connexions, about helping people of all ages across Gloucestershire. The service you will provide means that thousands of people who might otherwise struggle due to physical, mental, social or rural barriers, get where they need to go.

You’ll be joining our group of trained Community Transport Volunteers (& qualified drivers) collecting people from their homes & taking them to a health appointment/social activity or picking them up from a health/day centre and dropping them home.

As a Community Connexions driver, you will be dedicated to providing safe transport that facilitates inclusion and participation, reducing loneliness from social and rural isolation. Your service will be vital for helping people retain their independence. As an example in 2020, our team helped over 90,000 passengers.

With your help we can be even better & reach still more people. Our services are reliable, punctual, safe and fully accessible. We’re inclusive & welcome people from all backgrounds, ethnicities, genders, religions, all walks of life, so come & join us as a volunteer!

Give as little or as much time as you can, some drivers are full-time, some offer a few half days a month. Volunteering with us a great way to help people in your community and it’s also an opportunity for you to meet new people and develop new skills.

We have opportunities in Tewkesbury, Cirencester, Tetbury, Stroud, Gloucester, Cheltenham, Dursley and across Gloucestershire.

We'll ask you to do a DVLA Licence check and we'll get you to complete the Disclosure and Barring Service certification.

We will not see you out of pocket, we'll cover your mileage expenses. We'll give you training and you’ll be part of our team. Our support staff are here to help you all the way.

What You’ll Do

As a Trustee, you’ll:

Governance and Compliance

• Ensure good governance practices are upheld, aligning with the foundation’s charitable mission and ethical standards.
• Confirm compliance with the Nistad Foundation's governing document, charity law, company law, and other relevant legislation.
• Monitor and manage risks, ensuring timely remedial action when needed.

Board Participation and Oversight

• Prepare for and actively participate in board meetings, contributing to discussions, working groups, and the development of board papers.
• Contribute to setting the foundation’s strategic direction and evaluating performance against charitable objectives.
• Provide ongoing monitoring and support for the Executive Director’s performance.

Financial and Resource Management

• Maintain oversight of the foundation’s budget and financial health, ensuring sustainability and stability.
• Ensure the effective and responsible use of the foundation’s assets, financial resources, and material and human resources.

Advisory and Strategic Support

• Offer guidance in areas of specific expertise, advising the Executive Director and staff on relevant policies and procedures.
• Lead and contribute to developing policies and procedures that reflect good practice, ensuring their implementation.

Advocacy and Fundraising

• Act as an ambassador for the foundation, advocating for its work and ethical values.
• Assist in diversifying and developing sustainable funding streams by promoting the
• foundation among personal and professional contacts.
• Support fundraising efforts by identifying opportunities, fostering relationships, and
• providing strategic insight.

Strategic Development and Performance

• Collaborate with the board to identify and monitor strategic risks, ensuring the foundation’s mission and reputation remain safeguarded.
• Contribute to the ongoing evaluation and refinement of the foundation’s strategic direction, ensuring alignment with charitable objectives.
