What You’ll Be Doing
As our Individual Giving Assistant – Supporter Retention & Development, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our fundraising campaigns and projects, helping to retain and maximise the lifetime value of our supporters. You’ll be one of the first points of contact for our donors, providing exceptional supporter care and ensuring every supporter feels valued. Your day-to-day will include:
- Responding to supporter enquiries by phone and email, ensuring all queries are handled efficiently and with care
- Thanking donors and personalising communications to build strong relationships
- Accurately recording and processing donations, including “in memory” gifts, and updating supporter records on our database
- Supporting the delivery of fundraising campaigns, including creating timing plans, checking data, and monitoring stock levels
- Managing invoices and supporting the team with administrative tasks
- Working with colleagues and volunteers to deliver the best possible supporter experience

About this role
We’re looking someone who can support the team to maintain our strong online presence by delivering engaging, creative digital content. Education Endowment Foundation
Our client, Education Endowment Foundation is an independent charity dedicated to breaking the link between family income and education achievement. They do this by supporting schools, nurseries and colleges to improve teaching and learning for two-to 19-year-olds through better use of evidence.
Roles:
We’re looking for two Evaluation Managers to commission and oversee robust, cost-effective evaluations of promising projects, manage a portfolio of studies, and contribute to the development of methodological best practice at the heart of the EEF’s work.
As an Evaluation Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in commissioning and managing high-quality, cost-effective evaluations of EEF -funded projects. You’ll oversee a portfolio of studies from design to delivery, working closely with external evaluators and programme teams to ensure rigorous, practical evaluations and clear communication of findings. This is a chance to shape influential research, strengthen the evidence base on what works in education, and contribute to the EEF’s wider strategic work.
You’ll join one of two closely connected teams at the heart of the EEF’s evidence-generation work, offering distinct but complementary opportunities.
One role sits in the Evaluation Team, a large, expert team responsible for commissioning and managing EEF’s major independent evaluations, including large-scale randomised controlled trials and quasi-experimental evaluations, and for supporting external research teams to deliver rigorous, high-quality studies across the portfolio.
The second role sits in the Programme Development and Scale-up Team, a smaller, highly cross-functional team working at the earlier and later stages of the evidence pipeline. This team leads pilots, early-stage and scale-up evaluations, with a stronger focus on implementation and process evaluation, and on developing and testing innovative evaluation approaches to support effective scale-up.
Both roles work closely together and across the organisation to ensure EEF’s evidence is rigorous, relevant, and has real impact in the system.
In these roles you will:
- Commission evaluations in our priority areas, including critically reviewing evaluation proposals to ensure proposed designs are high quality and cost-effective and that the most suitable external evaluators are matched with projects.
- Manage a portfolio of evaluation projects once external evaluators are appointed and being the primary point of contact for evaluators.
- Liaise between the evaluator and the delivery team (that is delivering the intervention) and chairing meetings to ensure the evaluation project is set up effectively with a high-quality design (working closely with colleagues in EEF’s Programmes team).
- Work closely with the evaluator and delivery team to understand the practical issues involved in delivering evaluations, mitigating risks, and providing support when problems arise.
- Manage evaluation contracts and budgets, and monitoring delivery of evaluation plans.
- Conduct technical reviews of protocols, study plans, statistical analysis plans and evaluation reports.
- Work closely with other teams to ensure that published reports are of high quality and effectively communicate findings to an audience of practitioners, academics, policymakers and the general public.
- Draw on expertise from across EEF to shape and apply innovative evaluation approaches, working collaboratively to strengthen evaluation design, learning and the use of evidence.
- Develop, improve and monitor implementation of evaluation guidance and resources to clarify best practice and build the capacity of evaluators to conduct high quality research.
Candidate:
You'll be able to demonstrate:
- A commitment to the aims of the EEF and a genuine interest in the education sector in England.
- An understanding of technical aspects of evaluation methodologies (implementation and process evaluations, randomised controlled trials, quasi-experimental designs, choice of outcome measurement, etc.) and an ability to identify high quality evaluation plans and reports.
- Experience in delivering or commissioning rigorous evaluation projects in education, health, or another related field
- Strong relationship management skills, including managing stakeholder performance and differences in opinion.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to communicate complex information to a variety of audiences including practitioners, academics, and policymakers.
- An organised and methodical approach, with excellent project management skills and the ability to prioritise own workload and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- The ability to work independently with strong attention to detail and a commitment to fact checking own work, as well as the ability to work closely and collaboratively across teams.
- A proactive, flexible, and pragmatic approach to evaluation, with an ability to balance a commitment to rigour with accessibility and impact.

About the role
We are currently looking for a Volunteer Support Manager to join our innovative Young People, Volunteer and Business Support Directorate. You will manage the Volunteer Support Team and develop and maintain efficient volunteering systems used by our volunteers. Key Responsibilities
Supporter Care:
- Handle telephone, email and postal enquiries from supporters; identifying and resolving queries in a prompt, warm and sensitive way.
- Provide phone cover to the Supporter Care team as required.
- Provide reception cover to the Supporter Care team as required.
Donations:
- Accurately code donations received, ensuring agreed departmental procedures are followed.
- Process, set up and administer instructions and payments through a variety of donations channels and schemes such as Online, Direct Debit, standing orders, BACs, Payroll giving schemes and online giving platforms.
- Input and maintain data on CAFOD’s supporter database, ensuring high degrees of accuracy on our donor records.
- File and archive financial data, while adhering to strict audit controls.
Gift Aid:
- Understand Gift Aid and its application within CAFOD.
- Assist with all aspects of tax effective giving, in accordance with agreed procedures and priorities, including preparation of regular tax claims for submission to HMRC.
Thanking:
- Produce and dispatch letters to thank and acknowledge donations received.
- Write bespoke letters of thanks to supporters to respond to exceptional donations and provide a personal touch.
- Contribute to ongoing enhancement and improvement of supporter thanking
Post/banking:
- Assist with all incoming and outgoing postal duties held by SDT to maximise effectiveness of processes and delivery of key service levels.
- Preparation of daily banking, cash handling and initial reconciliation of all monies received daily.

About the Role

The Major Gifts (MGP) Executive – Corporates and Outreach (MGECO) is a hybrid role responsible for managing a small pool of corporate donors and prospects as well as working with colleagues to coordinate outreach within priority Major Donor audiences.
CAFOD’s Corporate Partnerships Portfolio has an annual target income of £858,000. The Executive will be responsible for a small group of Corporate Partners giving under £50,000/year, with the goal of maintaining and maximising the value and potential of these relationships
A key component of CAFOD’s continued MGP fundraising success is the identification and development of a strong pipeline of new major gift donors. Working with colleagues, the Executive role will identify and cultivate prospective donors with the goal of expanding the MGP Section portfolio. This will be achieved through strategic outreach work within CAFOD’s priority audiences.
The role sits within the Corporate Partnerships Team, a part of the Major Gifts and Philanthropy Section in the Fundraising and Participation Group. The post reports to the Corporate Partnerships Manager (CPM), working closely and in consultation with the Philanthropy Manager (PM) and MGP Research and Information Manager (MGPRIM). The post-holder will collaborate on strategic planning and cross-functional initiatives within the MGP section. They will also contribute to cross-team projects as agreed with the CPM.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in fundraising – ideally in major gifts and philanthropy donor management or external relationship development. - Clear understanding of corporate partnership and major donor fundraising and an ability to build relationships at various levels to achieve objectives.
- Comfortable in the major donor and business environments; understand what decision-making processes may influence the support for charities.
- Strong in writing effective supporter communication material and confident presentation skills.
- Strong research skills to identify potential donors and engagement opportunities within priority communities.
- A sound knowledge of the life, structures and networks of the Catholic communities of England and Wales and how to effectively engage those who may support through major gifts.
- Strong organisation skills and ability to co-develop tailored donor engagement plans with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment with broader fundraising goals.
- Passionate about overcoming global poverty and injustice.

You’ll work closely with the Trusts & Foundations Fundraising Manager to research prospects, write compelling applications, manage reporting, and build warm, meaningful relationships with funders who want to make a real impact.
In this role, you’ll contribute to raising around £500,000 a year to fund life-saving research and vital support services for patients and families. You’ll collaborate with colleagues across the charity, turning insight, data, and stories into persuasive cases for support that inspire funders to give.
