About the Role

We’re looking for a passionate and strategic Head of Individual Giving and Legacies to lead one of the most impactful areas of our fundraising programme.

This is a pivotal leadership role within Sense’s Fundraising and Marketing team, responsible for developing and delivering our individual giving and legacy strategies, currently generating over 70% of Sense’s voluntary income.

You’ll lead on innovation, insight, and supporter experience - diversifying income streams, driving loyalty, and ensuring that every supporter feels valued and inspired. Working closely with senior leaders and your talented team, you’ll shape how Sense engages with the public, strengthening relationships that transform lives for years to come.

We offer flexible working arrangements. You’ll need to be able to travel occasionally within the UK, including to our London and Birmingham offices, and to attend events, sometimes during evenings or weekends.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver Sense’s Individual Giving and Legacy strategies, growing income through appeals, regular giving, lottery, and legacy marketing.
• Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing team of fundraising and marketing professionals, fostering creativity, accountability, and collaboration.
• Diversify and grow the individual giving portfolio, driving acquisition, retention, and supporter value.
• Use data and insight to inform strategy, improve efficiency, and enhance supporter journeys.
• Oversee budgets, forecasts, and performance targets to achieve ambitious income goals.
• Cultivate strategic partnerships and manage supplier relationships to maximise ROI.
• Embed a culture of innovation and co-production across the team, encouraging new ideas and continuous improvement.

About You

You will bring:

• Extensive management experience across individual giving and legacy fundraising with a track record of achieving growth.
• Strong leadership skills, with experience developing high-performing teams and driving collaboration.
• Proven experience in strategic planning, budgeting, and performance management.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Analytical ability and proficiency with fundraising systems, data analysis, and tools such as Power BI or MS Dynamics.
• A commitment to innovation, inclusion, and supporter-centric fundraising.

Desirable experience includes working in the charity or not-for-profit sector and familiarity with multi-channel fundraising campaigns.

Role

Working within the Individual Giving team, you’ll have a varied role managing and supporting the delivery of supporter-centric fundraising appeals which will recruit, retain and/or develop supporters across the cause-led, gaming, in memory and legacy programmes. These appeals will include utilising online and offline channels such as direct mail, organic and paid social advertising, email, private sites, SMS and telemarketing.

This role would suit someone with some experience of marketing or fundraising or who would like to expand their experience of Individual Giving.

We’re looking for an Individual Giving Coordinator, who will play a critical part in coordinating activity and supporting leadership across our Individual Giving directorate, which includes various fundraising teams.

What does this role do?
As Individual Giving Coordinator, you’ll:

• work closely with Heads of department across Individual Giving, regularly updating to key project plans and owning the administration of the full fundraising plan for the directorate,
• play an instrumental role in the smooth running of team events, from planning for conference to taking minutes and distributing actions at meetings,
• Prepare data for use across the directorate, including preparing regular and ad-hoc reports for internal and external audiences,
• collaborate with colleagues in internal communications to ensure the work of the directorate is shared with the rest of the organisation consistently.

Interviews for this role are provisionally scheduled for week commencing 15th December 2025 and will take place on Teams.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need some experience providing administrative support to a team, preferably combined with a good understanding of fundraising. You’ll have excellent time management and organisational skills, as well as strong communication skills to interact with a variety of stakeholders. As an Individual Giving Manager, your role will have overall responsibility for the operational delivery of the Individual Giving strategy. You will use proven fundraising techniques across print and digital to grow and diversify our programme, engaging with both new and existing audiences to support our work with children with brain injury and neurodisability.

You will also be responsible for developing and implementing legacy marketing plans, utilising channels including direct marketing, digital and events. The Individual Giving team are a small and ambitious team who sit within Public Fundraising and form part of a wider Fundraising and Communications directorate. The team is responsible for generating around £1m in income a year, through recruiting new donors and building relationships with existing donors, including legacies and mid value supporters. We have ambitious plans for growth and, as part of a supporter marketing remit, are developing more holistic relationships with our supporter base.

Reporting to the Senior Individual Giving Manager, you will take overall responsibility for planning, managing and delivering innovative and impactful supporter campaigns across a range of channels. With the ability to resolve everyday challenges and obstacles independently, you will be expected to deliver a range of Direct Marketing fundraising campaigns through the full creative process, from briefing to concept, through to final delivery, as well as reviewing results and making recommendations. You will also be responsible for developing and implementing legacy marketing plans, utilising channels including direct marketing, digital and events. Alongside this, your role will focus on our mid value programme and producing and developing campaigns and stewardship plans aimed specifically for this audience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Campaign project management:

• Plan, manage and deliver innovative and impactful supporter campaigns across a range of channels, including donor development, supporter acquisition and prize led fundraising activities.
• Support the Senior Individual Giving Manager in the setting of budgets and achieve income targets outlined in annual plans.
• Produce, take ownership of and implement medium to long-term product strategies for elements of the development and/or acquisition programmes – delivering all associated campaign activities, assessing the performance of each product against response and income targets, and managing these on an ongoing basis in order to meet or exceed targets.
• Produce clear and succinct briefs to agencies, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Use marketing judgement to proof, edit and develop compelling creative, and make sound decisions on proposals and testing plans.
• Work closely with the Data Manager, as well as Supporter Care, Communications, Events and Partnerships Fundraising to successfully deliver campaigns and evaluations.
• Continually test and learn across campaigns to improve performance, consistently looking to improve ROI and lifetime value across the programme.
• Manage contract and campaign agreements with external agencies, ensuring activities are delivered in a compliant way, adhering to GDPR and fundraising regulation including the Code of Fundraising Practice.

Management of supporter journeys:

• Develop effective welcome and supporter journeys, to help minimise attrition and increase the average lifetime value of donors.
• Ensure that new supporters are thanked and welcomed appropriately, with an emphasis on testing early-stage engagement.
• Support the creation and testing of an integrated supporter journey programme that is segment and channel based, in collaboration with colleagues across the wider Fundraising department.

Reporting and analysis:

• Closely monitor campaign results and provide updates on performance.
• Produce post-campaign analysis reports.
• Work with the Data Manager to develop and update existing reporting mechanisms.
• Make recommendations to improve the performance of future campaigns based on evidence and data.

Legacy marketing and administration:

• Develop and implement legacy marketing plans utilising channels including direct marketing, digital and events.
• Liaise with the wider Public Fundraising team to brief speakers and identify new speakers or ‘Legacy Ambassadors’ to help promote legacy fundraising at key events.
• Build one to one relationships with potential legacy donors, including taking them on tours of The Children’s Trust to showcase our service provision.
• Management of legacy administration including liaison with solicitors, executors, other charities (who are benefitting from the same estate) and family members.

Mid value programme:

• Work with Senior Individual Giving Manager to develop and implement the mid value donor fundraising strategy.
• Build and steward relationships with our mid value donors, developing relationships which inspire donors and supports them towards making significant gifts to The Children’s Trust and encourages long-term support.
• Identify and develop mid value prospects, as well as potential major donor prospects from within the mid value cohort for stewardship by the Philanthropy team.
• Collaborate with colleagues to build appropriate supporter journeys for mid value prospects and donors.
• Consider innovative ways of engaging mid value donors and prospects, such as targeted communications and events.

Developing insight, product development, competitor analysis and industry  perspective:

• Use existing research and insight, and where appropriate, undertake and commission new projects to derive new / further insight and analysis.
• Identify, research and develop new products, creative ideas and fundraising initiatives.
• Keep up to date with industry developments and act upon direct and digital marketing trends and statistics.

Connect: North Korea is a fast-growing charity supporting North Korean escapees to build new lives after experiences of systemic discrimination, poverty, and trauma.

Our organisational income has grown consistently year on year since we registered in 2018. We now have a series of multi-year grants in place ensuring that 42% of our income for 2026 is already secured. We are looking to recruit a dynamic Head of Fundraising to lead and deliver income generation as we scale our work in the UK and globally.

This is a rare opportunity to work closely with the CEO and across programme teams to map out our annual fundraising plan, craft compelling cases for support, develop funder relationships, with an aim to securing our funding base year on year. 

Position: Head of Fundraising

Responsible to: Chief Executive Officer

Based at: Our offices in New Malden KT3 with some remote/home working. We will be as flexible as possible to accommodate the right candidate.

Contract: Permanent. Full-time or Part-time considered. Flexible hours/days possible.

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 FTE + 5% eligible pension.

Lead our efforts to grow and diversify CNK’s income across individual giving, trusts and foundations, corporate partnerships, and community fundraising. • Develop our annual organisational fundraising strategy and fundraising action plan;
• Draft fundraising targets and KPIs based on current income levels and our delivery plans for 2026;
• Lead and coordinate all CNK fundraising activity from Trusts and Foundations, corporates and individual supporters;
• Build relationships with major donors, corporates, charitable Trusts and Foundations and other institutional funders;
• Ensure all fundraising meets the Code of Fundraising Practice, safeguarding standards, GDPR compliant and CNK’s values; and
• Report quarterly on fundraising progress to Chief Executive and Board of Trustees

The Head of Operations holds responsibility for our day-to-day delivery, strategic development of our services, and operational team leadership. As our new Head of Operations you will:

• sit on the PiP Senior Management Team and lead our team of circa twenty delivery staff.

What You’ll Need

• Significant experience of working with people with learning disabilities, or a similar vulnerable client group, including knowledge of Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults (SOVA) processes.

We are seeking our first Head of Fundraising to join our Senior Leadership Team, build the function and leave a legacy.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, you will lead on developing and delivering our fundraising strategy, with primary focus on trusts and foundations and corporate partnerships, with the potential to grow individual philanthropy in the future.

You will be a key ambassador for the organisation, building and managing strong, long-term relationships with funders who share our mission. You’ll bring vision, strategic clarity and emotional intelligence to developing compelling cases for support, always ensuring alignment with organisational goals and understanding that for us, income is a vehicle to impact.

You’ll manage and develop one Senior Officer initially, with the possibility that we may be able to expand the team as income grows. The Senior Officer post is currently empty, so we hope that you’ll be able to be involved in the recruitment of this post enabling you to shape your own team. You’ll also play a wider role in shaping the organisation’s strategy and culture as part of a collaborative and ambitious leadership team.

Key responsibilities:

Strategy and Leadership

• Lead development and execution of a fundraising strategy focused on trusts,foundations and corporates (with a possible addition of individual philanthropy further down the line).

• Embed fundraising monitoring, evaluation and performance reporting into the organisation; ensure transparency with senior leadership and trustees.

Terms:

• Annual Gross Salary: £64,800 (employees who are not London-based receive the same salary, including London weighting, but cover their own travel costs to the office, typically twice a month)
