The Route to a Million Campaign

This is an exciting time for First Give, as we seek to expand and diversify our fundraising streams into Corporate and HNWI. To support this, we are launching the Route to A Million campaign in March, aiming to raise an additional £1.5 million over the next 3 years on top of our forecast income. The campaign is supported by a newly recruited campaign board, and the new Head of Philanthropy and Partnerships will spearhead the work required to achieve this target.

Head of Philanthropy and Partnerships

We are seeking a dynamic, strategic and entrepreneurial Head of Philanthropy and Partnerships to supercharge First Give’s next phase of income growth. This is a pivotal role at the heart of our mission, offering the opportunity to shape and deliver a multi‑year fundraising strategy that fuels real, measurable impact for young people and society as a whole. First Give is a small charity, with a growing fundraising team and big ambitions. As the senior leader for all income streams, you will own and drive our major donor programme; unlock new philanthropic partnerships; and build a talented team across other income streams to achieve ambitious goals. Corporate Parnterships Manager

We are seeking a self-motivated and driven Corporate Partnerships Manager to lead on growing and stewarding First Give’s portfolio of high-value funders. This role will focus on developing corporate partnerships and will also support our Campaign Board and major donor activity.

First Give is a small charity, with a growing fundraising team and big ambitions. You will therefore be someone who thrives in a start-up environment, brings new ideas to the table and is comfortable setting up new systems and processes. You will play a pivotal role in shaping First Give’s income growth, working closely with our Head of Philanthropy and the Director. As GMYN’s Corporate Partnerships and Fundraising Lead, you will generate income from a range of philanthropic and corporate supporters. We want someone who can “sell what we do” and turn leads into impactful partnerships.

As well as building on the existing support and donor network we have, we’re looking for someone who is adept at spotting opportunities and comfortable creating new ones by making speculative approaches by phone, e-mail and in-person.

As an integral part of the Fundraising and Development team, you will work with our CEO and Head of Business Development. The postholder will bring their own ideas to drive the development of new partnerships with donors and business partners.

What you will be doing?

• Build and manage a robust pipeline of corporate and donor prospects.
• Develop, pitch and negotiate tailored partnerships, that deliver income, in-kind support, and engagement opportunities.
• Personally steward our existing portfolio of donors and supporters, to ensure long-term relationships.
• Champion youth voice in fundraising and communications, working with the participation team to co-design campaigns and engagement opportunities.
• Promote our work, impact and support opportunities through our communications channels to draw in new business and sponsorship opportunities.
• Work as part of the wider communications team. Improve fundraising, engage supporters and attract new support through creative story telling.

You don't have to have worked in the voluntary youth sector previously. Our aim is to find a suitable candidate that can meet the selection criteria below. This can be from a past/current income generation/sales role, or a role with transferable skills.

More importantly we are looking for someone with genuine passion for working for a youth charity. Someone who can join our fundraising team and make a big impression, helping us to achieve our income generation goals.

We want to hire an enthusiastic person who can “sell what we do” to various donors. Someone who can maintain positive working relationships with various supporters and stakeholders.

Person Specification

• A genuine passion to help GMYN achieve its plan to engage and transform the lives of young people facing disadvantage.

Leukaemia UK – Our Charity

We are a ‘small but mighty’ charity with one big ambition: to stop leukaemia devastating lives. Over the next 10 years we want to help save and improve the lives of more people with leukaemia through finding and funding life-changing research and campaigning for change.

We are seeking an experienced, driven and passionate Head of Philanthropy to lead on delivering income from our High Value (HV) audiences and income streams. We are looking for someone with energy and ambition, who can demonstrate strategic leadership to maximise fundraising opportunities across Major Giving, Trusts and Foundations, Special Events and Corporate Partnerships. In 2025 we invested in growing our fundraising team so that we could fund more life-changing research, to increase our understanding of leukemia as a disease, and accelerate the development of kinder, more effective treatments. This included investment to grow the Philanthropy fundraising team, develop new fundraising products, increase our supporter networks, and build a stronger pipeline. As a result, we have seen significant year-on-year growth for a charity of our size and are keen to maintain this trajectory with the opportunities in front of us.

We are in the final year of our current 5-year organisational strategy cycle and in the process of developing our new 5-year fundraising strategy, so you will be instrumental in bridging the gap, delivering against agreed income targets for 2026 and driving forward new plans into 2027. 

Reporting to the Director of Fundraising, the post holder will at times be required to work both strategically and operationally, autonomously and collaboratively, as a critical member of the Fundraising Leadership Team.  You will be results-driven with an appetite to innovate and drive continuous improvement, leading to increased conversions, deepened relationships, and long-term high value support to upscale our research programme.

Skills and Experience

• Previous experience of being a Head of Philanthropy, demonstrating strategic leadership with a remit that includes oversight of a broad High Value fundraising portfolio, across multiple income streams.
• Experience of applying the principles of Philanthropy fundraising to develop and nurture a growing pipeline of 5- and 6-figure gift opportunities for supporters able to give at the highest levels.
• Experience of managing engaging Major Giving and Trusts & Foundations fundraising programmes to generate a warm pipeline of 5- and 6-figure gifts.
• Experience of overseeing a Special Events programme, comprising both fundraising and cultivation events.
• Experience of overseeing a Corporate partnerships portfolio and representing the charity at a senior level.
• Demonstrable experience of managing a high-performing team, focussing on creating a culture where people thrive as individuals.
• Strong experience of building effective relationships with internal and external partners, senior stakeholders and suppliers, leading on the key relationships for the charity. 
• Strong written and oral communication skills with a real talent for connecting and influencing people at all levels.
• Strong project-management experience, including managing budgets, schedules, creative development, and supplier relationships for fundraising events and campaigns.
• Proven experience of driving effective High Value stewardship programmes to maximise supporter experience.

• High level knowledge and understanding of charity law in relation to legacy fundraising, GDPR, PECR, data protection and other relevant fundraising regulation.

JOB TITLE:Head of Fundraising

Main purpose and scope of the role

This is a pivotal leadership role within the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) at Medical Detection Dogs (MDD), combining strategic oversight with hands-on operational involvement. The role requires a proactive leader who can inspire a high-performing fundraising team while actively engaging in day-to-day fundraising activities.

As Head of Fundraising, you will lead the development and delivery of MDD’s income generation strategies across multiple streams. This includes rolling up your sleeves to participate in operational fundraising activities, engaging with supporters directly, and ensuring that established initiatives and campaigns are optimised and expanded.

Your ability to work collaboratively across the charity, combined with a strong focus on achieving results, will ensure that MDD continues to generate the income required to fund its vital work throughout the UK.

Strategic leadership and SLT contribution

• Provide strategic direction for all fundraising activities, ensuring alignment with MDD’s overall mission and objectives.
• Contribute to SLT discussions and charity-wide strategic initiatives, offering operational insights and aligning fundraising efforts with broader organisational goals.
• Represent the fundraising function at Board meetings, providing updates on performance, opportunities, and risks.

Operational hands-on involvement

• Actively participate in delivering key activities, such as "Name a Puppy," and ensure their growth and success.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key supporters, attending community events, presenting to groups, and engaging with donors to build loyalty and long-term support.
• Work with both the fundraising team and with colleagues across MDD to create engaging campaigns and donor propositions that drive income.

• Work closely with the head of communications to ensure campaigns have compelling narratives and effective promotional materials.

Team leadership and development

• Provide hands-on leadership to the fundraising team, ensuring they are motivated, trained, and supported to deliver high-quality results.

Financial oversight and performance monitoring

The Philanthropy Manager will develop a philanthropy strategy, building on the partnerships and resources already in place. You will develop a pipeline backed up by robust prospect research (some administrative assistance will be provided), and instigate a cultivation and stewardship programme, typically adopting a staged approach to major asks.

You will be accountable for the acquisition, development, and stewardship of high value supporters for CUF, both individual philanthropists and non-statutory grant-making bodies. You will develop and strengthen relationships with existing donors, as well as identifying warm prospects currently not supporting CUF financially. A key part of your role will be meeting and engaging major donor prospects to grow the pool.

About You

As the Philanthropy Manager, you will be a confident and persuasive communicator, comfortable engaging with supporters and stakeholders at all levels. The Philanthropy Manager is a new donor-facing role, which will focus on expanding and strengthening a major donor portfolio to increase five and six figure income from individual donors and family trusts for Art UK. You will lead on managing and growing Art UK’s philanthropic giving programme, which includes the Patrons and supporter events programme and our major donor activity. Working within an ambitious team, you will have the support of a freelance Prospect Researcher to identify new prospects, and the Development Manager and CRM Officer to develop donor journeys and relationship management systems. You will report to the Head of Development, work closely with the CEO and Chair of the Philanthropy Board, and collaborate with colleagues across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

- Build and maintain a robust prospect pipeline through identification, research, cultivation and relationship-building to secure five-figure gifts and long-term support

- Manage and grow Art UK’s mid-level regular giving programme, strengthening donor relationships through face-to face meetings, events and personalised communication
