Job description

At Lumos, we believe every child deserves to grow up in a safe and loving family, never in an institution. We work globally to transform care systems, strengthen families, and advocate for lasting change. With over 5.4 million children still living in institutional care, our mission is urgent, ambitious and powered by people who refuse to accept the status quo. If you share that drive, we’d love to hear from you.

We are seeking a strategic, visionary and relationship-driven leader to shape and expand Lumos’ global programme partnerships. This is a highly influential role, perfect for someone who thrives in global collaboration, can navigate complex systems and is passionate about child rights and sustainable care reform.

As Head of Programme Partnership, you will:

  • Drive the expansion of Lumos’ partnership portfolio aligned with our 10-Year Ambition.

  • Build and nurture strategic relationships with governments, donors, NGOs and global child-rights actors.

  • Guide co-created programme design, implementation and evaluation across multiple regions.

  • Strengthen Lumos’ presence on the global stage — representing us in high-level forums and alliances.

  • Oversee knowledge-sharing, learning, and impact measurement to support scaling and replication.

  • Lead and inspire a dynamic team, fostering collaboration, excellence and innovation.

This role involves international travel and offers a unique opportunity to influence systemic reform at scale, changing outcomes for children worldwide.

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced in child protection, care reform or international development (7–10+ years).

  • Skilled in partnership-building, negotiation and influencing at senior levels.

  • Confident leading multi-country programmes and cross-cultural teams.

  • A strategic thinker who turns vision into measurable impact.

  • Passionate about children's rights, driven by collaboration, equity and sustainability.

Working at Lumos means joining a global movement powered by care, compassion and conviction. You’ll be part of a diverse organisation that values inclusion, learning and the belief that children belong with families.

This role must be based in — and have the right to work in — one of Lumos’ programme country locations: UK, Moldova, Ukraine, Colombia or Kenya.

Application deadline: 7 January 2026 at 23:55

If you're ready to help shape global reform and build futures where children grow up where they belong  with families, with love, with opportunity, apply today.
