Job description

Following the implementation of our new Finance & Procurement system, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual to join our Finance team as Head of Budgeting and Reporting. You will join us working 35 hours per week, on a permanent basis and will be based remotely. In return you will receive a salary of up to £65,670.36 per annum plus excellent benefits.

Although this is a remote role, there will be travel required approximately once per month to attend the National Cat Centre in Chelwood Gate, East Sussex, please ensure you are of a commutable distance.

The team is made up of a Senior Management Accountant and 5 qualified Management Accountants.

Responsibilities of our Head of Budgeting and Reporting:

The Head of Budgeting and Reporting is a newly formed role following the implementation of the new system and will oversee the development of the full suite of new reports to support the regular rhythm of monthly reporting, forecasting and budgeting.  The role will be responsible for developing structures and capabilities around the new system to support budget holders, senior management and Trustees through the provision of accurate, consistent and timely financial reporting, financial analysis and insights.  The role will lead on production of statutory reporting and the audit relationship. This role will contribute to the leadership of the charity and provide strategic management for the finances of the charity and the Budgeting and Reporting function.

What we’re looking for in our Head of Budgeting and Reporting:

- Fully qualified CCAB accountant

- Educated to degree level or equivalent

- Knowledge of charity accounting and financial management

- Significant experience of financial management including: drafting business and operational plans, budgets, analysing financial information, financial modelling and scenario planning

- Proven experience of strategic financial development

- Experience leading and developing a team

- Proven experience of leading a business partnering function

- Experience of planning and implementing new processes and system implementation

- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate effectively at all levels

- High attention to detail with the ability to ensure accuracy when working under pressure
