Palliative care for children aged 0-18 is delivered at Acorns’ hospices in Birmingham, Worcester, and Walsall, as well as in family homes or elsewhere in the community. Their holistic, tailored approach meets each child’s clinical, emotional, cultural, religious, and spiritual needs. Supporting over 750 children and nearly 1,000 families annually, Acorns is a vital lifeline for families across the West Midlands and Gloucestershire during unimaginably difficult times.

Over the past three years, Acorns’ leadership has enhanced collaboration and innovation across the charity and embedded an organisation-wide fundraising culture. Since then, they’ve appointed ambitious, driven fundraising leaders and are now are seeking a Head of Partnerships to shape the  strategic direction of corporate and community fundraising and play a key role on the fundraising

With a newly formed integrated team and an upcoming £5m appeal, Acorns is seeking a senior leader to review, refine and scale its approach to corporate and community income.

The Head of Partnerships is a senior leadership role responsible that will lead a newly integrated Partnerships Team covering corporate new business, corporate account management and community fundraising, ensuring clear tiering, structured pipeline progression and robust income performance.

Reporting to the Associate Director of Fundraising, you will hold full responsibility for corporate and community income targets, budgets, forecasting and return on investment. You will also act as the Partnerships lead for the fundraising appeal, co-canvassing alongside the Head of Philanthropy and executive leadership, and mobilising corporate and community networks around key campaign moments.

As Head of Partnerships, you will:

• Lead and integrate Corporate and Community fundraising into a cohesive partnerships strategy aligned to the wider Fundraising Strategy
• Design and implement a three-year corporate and community income plan, with full budget and forecasting responsibility
• Conduct an audit of current partnerships activity, pipeline and resource allocation to ensure effort aligns to regional and national potential
• Establish a clear tiering framework, ensuring smooth progression from new business into account management and appropriate movement from community into corporate relationships
• Support the development of corporate executives into major donor relationships where appropriate
• Lead corporate new business acquisition, securing multi-year strategic partnerships, Charity of the Year agreements, cause-related marketing, sponsorship and stock generation partnerships
• Lead high-value pitches and negotiations, positioning Acorns credibly within the ESG and CSR landscape
• Increase C-Suite engagement and develop the Business Ambassador strategy
• Oversee structured account management, ensuring robust account plans, relationship mapping and retention strategy
• Develop scalable fundraising products for schools, universities, faith groups, clubs and smaller businesses
• Lead clearer prioritisation and KPIs across the regional community team
• Manage volunteer ambassador programmes and lead the strategy for golf days and key sporting initiatives
• Personally manage a small portfolio and own an income target
• Line manage senior corporate and community leaders and contribute as an active member of the Fundraising Senior Leadership Team

Essential skills and experience:

• Strong corporate fundraising background within a charity setting
• Proven track record of securing six-figure corporate gifts
• Experience managing and motivating teams to deliver robust income targets
• Experience designing strategies, annual plans and budgets and adapting them as required
• Strong knowledge of the corporate landscape, regionally and ideally nationally
• Confidence leading high-value pitches, negotiations and senior stakeholder engagement
• Experience of forecasting, reporting and managing income performance
• Strong working knowledge of CRM systems and fundraising compliance

• Experience across both local and national corporate partnerships

This role

The Head of HR and Operations will be a key member of the Senior Management Team, reporting directly to the Chief Executive. This role will be central to shaping the organisation’s culture and ensuring that our HR and operational functions are robust, future‑focused, and aligned with our mission.

Main responsibilities

Leadership and Management:

Essential Skills & Experience needed for the role

The Finance team provides finance and budgeting support to staff, managers and members of PCS. The department is about to embark on a digital transformation that will modernise how the Finance department operates for the Union. We are looking for a Head of Finance that will drive and lead this project whilst maintaining continuity of service operation to the union, members and staff and, to join a progressive union that values collaboration, integrity, and social impact.

1.People Management

• Manage work allocation and workflow, future planning and support for Finance Team and Director of Central Services
• Motivate and manage individuals and the team as a whole to provide a high standard of service to develop and improve the skills and efficiency of the Finance team

• Ensure expenses are paid in line with Service Level Agreement requirements

7. Finance Training and good practice

• Participate in the dissemination of financial knowledge across the union. Organise and participate in periodic financial training programmes for budget-holders, treasurers and members

8. Communication

• Draft complex communications including briefs, reports, business cases, for internal and external stakeholders
• Draft papers, policies and regulations in relation to financial management
• Communicate with members by producing circulars and briefings, and by addressing meetings and conferences etc

Join our team at the MPS Society, one of the leading rare genetic disease charities in the UK aiming to transform the lives of individuals and their families affected by MPS, Fabry and other related lysosomal diseases.  This is a rare opportunity to join our Support & Communities teams who provide direct support, practical guidance and other patient focused activities to over 1500 members and their families, UK-wide. 

Our Support Team raise awareness both within the MPS community and external agencies, offering information, advice, support, and advocacy in a range of areas including clinical management, health and social care, housing, education, transition, independent living, palliative care, and bereavement.

As a Senior Support Officer, you will primarily be responsible for raising awareness and providing a high-quality support and advocacy service to our members and their families.   You will be a relationship builder who cares about the community we serve and ensures that the individual (or family) remains at the centre of support.  You will have experience in multi-agency working and an in-depth understanding of the needs of those with disabilities, their families and carers.  Demonstrable experience and knowledge of health and social care, education and relevant assessment processes are essential. 

As deputy safeguarding lead officer for both shildren and vulnerable adults you will take the lead in the absence of the safeguarding leads and be confident sharing your knowledge with new recruits through mentoring.

You will have excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to uphold best practice, challenge poor policy and inappropriate decisions.  Excellent IT skills and the ability to plan, prioritise and deliver to tight timescales are essential.  You will be self-motivated and highly organised, juggling many strands of work. 

As part of a small, dedicated team, you will have a positive attitude and a willingness to work collaboratively with your colleagues and external parties to raise awareness, advocate for our membership, as well as supporting the delivery and development of services for the MPS Society community.

Whilst a relevant qualification within health & social care, education or a related field is desirable, other knowledge and work experiences may be equally as valuable in this role. Prior knowledge of MPS and related conditions is not required however a special interest in neurology and working with individuals with neurological disabilities is advantageous.  In-depth support and training to develop expertise in MPS and related conditions, and the needs of those affected by these progressive, life-limiting conditions will be provided.

What you'll do 

• Lead and manage the Customer Service Team (including the Deputy) and Maintenance Technician Team, ensuring high performance and collaboration.
• Oversee the effective delivery of minor adaptation services across Bristol and B&NES, and the ramp service in Gloucestershire, meeting commissioner requirements and service standards.
• Manage end-to-end workflow between customer service and technicians, ensuring timely scheduling and efficient job completion.
• Take ownership of service performance, financial targets (cost, income, volume) and budget management, monitoring and explaining variances.
• Drive continuous improvement, resolving operational and health & safety challenges alongside the Head of Service Delivery and Senior Technical Officer.
• Oversee risk assessments, method statements and staff training to ensure safe, compliant working practices.
• Own and manage key operational systems (including EPIX), phone system settings, stock control, fleet compliance (DVLA checks, insurance, MOTs) and supplier relationships.
• Lead pricing reviews and ensure best value from suppliers and partners.
• Manage complaints from start to resolution, ensuring a positive customer outcome.
• Represent WECHI at commissioner meetings and stakeholder events, maintaining strong relationships with partners including housing associations and commissioners.
