We are looking for an experienced, motivated fundraising professional to oversee corporate partnerships and individual giving, embedding the corporate and individual giving journey into all aspects of ERIC’s communications, and broadening the charity’s approach to donor stewardship to treat all service users and website visitors as future donors. You will also oversee all ERIC’s external and internal communications including our website, social media and PR.
As part of ERIC’s Senior Leadership Team, you will contribute to strategic planning, policy and decision-making across the whole organisation. This role provides strategic and operational leadership for ERIC’s fundraising and communications team. You will play a pivotal role in maximising supporter-led fundraising income, ensuring every supporter has a positive experience and feels inspired to continue supporting ERIC.
As Head of Fundraising and Communications, and a Senior leadership team member you will be responsible for implementing ERIC’s overall strategy. Our primary strategic objective in this area is to build our corporate and individual donor base, and you will use user data, stewardship strategy, website user experience, social media, segmented email and online service design to deliver this.
You will work closely with the CEO and provide effective line-management for two staff, and you will work with contractors and freelancers who provide social media support, videography and web development services etc.
ERIC’s reputation is built on providing families and professionals with health information that is accurate, up-to-date, clearly written and accessible. You will work with our team of qualified and experienced staff to ensure that robust systems are in place for checking and approving all the health information that ERIC publishes.

The Role
We are seeking an experienced Head of Finance to join our team. This role will play a pivotal role in ensuring the long term financial health and sustainability of St John’s Foundation and its trading subsidiaries.
Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will lead and take responsibility for our day-to-day financial operations and manage a dedicated team of finance professionals. You will ensure robust financial control, accurate reporting, and effective systems that underpin the charity’s strategic ambitions and operational delivery.
This is a senior, operational leadership role, offering the opportunity to shape our financial systems, guide a talented team, and contribute directly to our mission. You will also manage the next phase of our finance system implementation.
What You’ll Do
· Manage the finance team, ensuring timely, accurate financial reporting and high standards of control.
· Manage all aspects of financial management — including cashflow, balance sheet integrity, and statutory reporting.
· Lead on the statutory reporting and oversee budget setting and management accounts.
· Manage the next phase of our finance system implementation, embedding process improvements and digital innovation.
· Support the Finance Director with governance, risk management, and strategic financial planning.
· Manage investment and endowment accounting, ensuring compliance and effective performance monitoring.
· Provide insightful analysis and reporting to the Executive Team and the Board of Trustees.
About You
We’re looking for an experienced senior finance professional who combines technical expertise with strong leadership skills.
You will have:
· A recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent).
· Proven significant experience in senior finance leadership, including management accounts, budgeting, and statutory reporting.
· Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards and charity finance (including restricted and endowment funds).
· Demonstrable strong knowledge of financial controls, accounting standards, and (ideally) charity finance.
· Proven experience managing or implementing finance systems or digital transformation projects.
· Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build trust across all levels.
· A collaborative, proactive, and improvement-focused approach.
Desirable:
· Experience within the not-for-profit or charity sector.
· Knowledge of property and investment accounting.
· Familiarity with cloud-based finance systems.

Senior Management Accountant (Part Time – 3 Days per Week)
A national charity seeking a Interim Senior Commercial Management Accountant to support their finance team during a period of growth and transformation.
This role will play a critical part in leading the development of costing and pricing models to support strategic decision-making. You will also deliver high-quality financial planning and strengthen financial insight across the organisation.
This is a part-time role (3 days per week) offered on a interim basis until April 2026. The charity offers remote working, with access to a London office for those who prefer a hybrid approach.
The Role
As Senior Commercial Management Accountant, you will provide crucial support across financial planning, forecasting, modelling, and operational finance. Working closely with the Head of Finance & Finance Director, you will help deliver the charity’s mid-year forecast, develop organisational planning tools for the upcoming financial year, and lead on advanced costing and pricing work to support strategic decisions.
You will also support technical areas including partial VAT recovery, internal financial controls, and the migration of a small trading subsidiary to a new finance system. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys analytical problem-solving, partnering with non-finance colleagues, and contributing to organisational change.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of costing and pricing models to support strategic decision-making.
- Deliver the mid-year (4+8) forecast, providing variance analysis and clear narrative insight.
- Prepare planning tools and templates for the upcoming financial year.
- Provide financial guidance and analysis to non-finance managers across the organisation.
- Produce high-quality management reporting for senior leadership.
- Support technical accounting matters, including partial VAT recovery and VAT group consideration.
- Lead on the migration of financial processes for the charity’s trading subsidiary to a new finance system.
- Conduct internal audits and support compliance with statutory and charity regulatory requirements.
- Partner closely with operational teams and budget holders to strengthen financial understanding and performance.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative finance team culture, supporting process improvements and knowledge sharing.
About You
You will be a part-qualified or qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent) with strong experience in management accounting and developing robust cost and pricing models – ideally with experience working within commercial environments.
You’ll bring:
- Experience developing financial models, costings, and pricing work.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent Excel capability (modelling, data validation, pivot tables, lookup functions).
- Experience supporting non-finance colleagues with forecasting, variance analysis, and performance insight.
- Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and accessibly.
- Confidence working in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
- A collaborative, calm, and proactive approach.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of Jet Reports for Business Central.
- Experience with VAT recovery or working through VAT implications for charities.
