The kitchen is situated immediately off the main lounge, the central hub of the Hospice, where families come together to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner prepared by our talented head chef and his team.
For our children and their families, mealtimes provide comfort, a sense of normality and a chance to socialize. Without the stress of shopping, planning and clearing up - we take the pressure off.
Considerations:
Age requirement: 18+
Time commitment: Friday or Sunday.
.Location: This role will be based at the Tŷ Hafan Hospice in Sully assisting the kitchen staff. The kitchen is situated immediately off the lounge, the central hub of the Hospice, where families come together to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner prepared by our talented head chef and the team.
Activities you could be involved in:

We are delighted to be working with Restore, an Oxfordshire-based charity that has been offering employment support to people with mental ill-health since 1977. Restore supports people - through recovery groups, coaching and learning - to take control of their own recovery, develop skills, and progress towards their own goals to live more fulfilling lives. It works within the community to increase knowledge, awareness and reduce stigma associated with mental ill health. Restore is also home to the Oxfordshire Recovery College for therapeutic peer learning and is an expert provider of formal mental health training.
Restore are now seeking to appoint a Treasurer, to join the Board to support the organisation to achieve its goals. They will have a strategic role ensuring that the organisation complies with its purpose, charity law and company law and that the organisation pursues its objectives as defined in its governing document.
The Treasurer will have relevant accounting/finance experience to oversee all financial aspects of Restore, on behalf of the Board, to ensure its short and long-term sustainability. They will partner with the CEO and Head of Finance and Administration, along with chairing the Finance sub-committee to ensure that Restore operates within the financial guidelines set out in current legislation, by the charity commission and in Restore’s governing document.
Aside from specialist skills, the successful candidate will need excellent communication skills with great leadership qualities, the ability to confidently lead the Board, promote a collaborative team, deliver the vision of the charity and bring people together.

Time Commitments:
You’ll need to be able to:
- Attend quarterly board meetings from 4:30pm to 7pm.
- Attend the Annual General Meeting (AGM) alongside the CEO once per year.
- The Treasurer will Chair the Finance Sub Committee
- Trustees will join a Sub Committee linked to skill set, in order to get a proper feel for what is going on and contribute to discussion and decision-making.
- Make visits to recovery groups and head office teams to ensure you stay close to the services we are providing
- Correspond by email to discuss items and make decisions between meetings
- Attend other activities/fundraising events.
Meetings are currently hybrid, where attendance can be in person or online. Restore are aware that people who are working full-time or have family/other responsibilities may not always be able to travel to the meetings in person. It is important that Trustees are able to visit services, attend at least some meetings in person and have a connection with the community to which we deliver services. With this in mind, it’s unlikely that you will be based outside of Oxfordshire and its surrounding counties.
Tenure:
Trustees can join at any time during the year but are formally appointed at the November AGM for a three-year term at a time which can be extended twice (plus an extra year by agreement).

The Chair role will suit someone living in Buckinghamshire or the Milton Keynes area, who has a keen interest in the countryside and is excited by the prospect of helping to direct the future of CPRE Buckinghamshire over the next 5–7 years. It is an exciting time to join our team, as CPRE nationally is celebrating 100 years in 2026; you can be involved in making plans as to how we will celebrate this with the Buckinghamshire community through various events and activities.
You will help to:
- direct our important campaigns, engaging the local community and raising awareness of the issues that the countryside faces
- lead our Trustee board, and recruit new Trustee members
- increase our membership, so that we can continue to do the work we are doing
- expand our team of volunteers, so that we can widen and increase the work that we do
- liaise with stakeholders and partners, and forge new partnerships
- ensure that we as a charity meet our legal requirements, adhering to our governing document, and have the necessary policies and resources
- nurture and shape the future of CPRE Bucks.
We estimate that the time commitment will be around 1 day a week, although this is variable and dependent on activities. You can of course do more if you wish! Our team works and meets remotely most of the time, but occasional travel may be necessary – to attend CPRE Head Office in London, for example.
This is a volunteer role in which you can really make a difference. We welcome applicants of any age, gender and background.

Do you want to be inspired by the impact of education? Schools across Burnley and the surrounding area are looking for skilled volunteers to support education by becoming school governors.
What will you be doing?
Governing bodies are responsible for the strategic management of a school and will make decisions about a wide range of issues
The core responsibilities involved are:
- Ensuring accountability
- Providing support and challenge to the schools senior leadership team
- Monitoring and evaluating the school’s progress
- Budgetary allocation and control
- Shaping plans for school improvement and overseeing their implementation
- Setting the school’s aims and values
- Appointing senior members of staff including the Head Teacher
The governing body is usually split in to a small number of committees, each responsible for one area such as finance or pupil achievement. These committees will meet separately from the main governing body to discuss relevant issues in more detail. Discussion is then fed back at a full governing body meeting.
A school governing body is made up of representatives from the school, the parents, the local authority and the local community.
What are we looking for?
You don’t need any specific skills or experience to be a school governor. You must be over 18, but you don’t need to be a parent or have experience working in education. Often, it’s the outside perspective you can bring that a school needs.
Professional experience in areas such as HR, finance, law, or project management are all useful to a school. But soft skills such as leadership, communication, and problem solving are also great additions.
What difference will you make?
Governors make decisions that affect schools for years to come. Our recent impact survey found that our volunteers bring £9.9 million worth of value to schools each year, and 9/10 volunteers would recommend being a governor to a friend.
As a governor, you can visit the school to gain an understanding of the culture and ethos and to get the most out of the role. You’ll also have the opportunity to meet children, parents, and teachers, and see the impact of your work first-hand.

There are currently two vacancies to strengthen our Board. We are particularly interested to hear from applicants with marketing, communications or HR backgrounds. Experience of and connections within the renewable energy industry are desirable, but not essential.

GrantScape is a highly respected charity which specialises in Community Benefit Fund (CBF) grant administration and management. We provide grant-making solutions through the delivery of top quality, cost-effective grant programmes. Since 1997, we have firmly established ourselves as a leader in community fund grant administration and management and are one of the UK’s major grant-makers.
We administer CBFs on behalf of large scale renewable energy developers including wind farms and solar farms, other renewable energy plants and landfill operators (through the Landfill Communities Fund).

The charity has four board meetings a year. Two are usually held virtually, with the other two in Milton Keynes where our head office is located. You therefore must be based in the UK. You will also be expected to participate in other grant-decision meetings by email, normally monthly, between Board meetings.
This position is not remunerated but travel and out of pocket expenses will be paid in line with the charity’s Expenses Policy.

- Sending information to supporters, volunteers and to our Head Office
- Distributing information leaflets if required
Time expectation
Our administration volunteers usually spend 2 to 3 hours per week in this role, which is flexible and can be shared by more than one volunteer if needed.
