What you will be doing
- Be an ambassador for Team Parkinson’s - engaging with local staff, volunteers, and your local community, to ensure the group has the greatest possible impact on those affected by Parkinson's in your area
- Accurately record financial activity, keeping the group and the Parkinson's UK local networks finance team informed of the group's financial position
- With support from your local staff, stay up to date with Parkinson's UK's financial policies actively sharing them with the group and supporting the group to operate within them
- Provide regular reports to the committee on the financial status of the group including final accounts.
- Deal with financial administration for the group, from annual reports to legacy spending, and ensuring volunteer expenses are paid accurately in line with our volunteer expenses policy
- Be a signatory on the group's bank accounts

We work with local authorities and businesses to improve streets and public spaces. Our reports, such as The Pedestrian Pound, make a substantial contribution to the active travel agenda.
We are seeking someone with strong leadership and networking skills, with experience of good governance and helping organisations through growth. How Do Open Road’s Trustees Support The Charity?
The role of the Trustee is to assist in advancing the purpose of the organisation; developing its aims and goals, keeping within its charitable objectives and acting in its best interests. The board members ensure that the charity is run in accordance with its governing document, charity law, and any other laws and regulations which affect its activities.
Our Trustee Board are responsible for developing strategy, providing governance, and directing the charity towards achieving its mission. We are looking to appoint two new trustees – the first being from the building and maintenance sector – with the experience and knowledge to support the health and safety responsibilities of a growing charity, and the second being a HR professional who will chair our Personnel Sub Committee with special responsibility for oversight of the organisation’s HR function and strategy, ideally you will be a Chartered Member or Fellow of the CIPD with substantial experience at a Senior/Director HR professional level with a thorough understanding of operational HR policy and practice.
An understanding of the role of charity boards and their responsibilities and operation, gained through previous experience would be helpful, and above all else you will be intrinsically values-driven and committed to enabling more individuals we support to live their lives to the full.

REMUNERATION:
- This role is unremunerated and offered on a voluntary basis.

TIME COMMITMENT:
- The time commitment is at least one day a month.
- There are six board meetings a year and this includes an annual strategy setting day.
- Board meetings are held in person in Central London.
- All trustees are expected to participate on at least one committee and there are four committee meetings a year.

What will you be doing?
Governing bodies are responsible for the strategic management of a school and will make decisions about a wide range of issues
The core responsibilities involved are:
- Ensuring accountability
- Providing support and challenge to the schools senior leadership team
- Monitoring and evaluating the school’s progress
- Budgetary allocation and control
- Shaping plans for school improvement and overseeing their implementation
- Setting the school’s aims and values
- Appointing senior members of staff including the Head Teacher
The governing body is usually split in to a small number of committees, each responsible for one area such as finance or pupil achievement. These committees will meet separately from the main governing body to discuss relevant issues in more detail. Discussion is then fed back at a full governing body meeting.

The Foundation’s objects are:

The Role
Moneyfacts Research Foundation (Charity No. 1211382) is a newly formed charity seeking two additional trustees. The Foundation is supported and financed by Moneyfacts Group plc, the UK’s leading provider of interest rate data.
Trustee Duties
In addition to statutory responsibilities, trustees are expected to:

Attend 3–4 board meetings annually, prepared to contribute to discussions and scrutinise board papers.

Advise and support the board on the continuous development and improvement of the Foundation.

Assist in networking within the sector.

Apply their knowledge and experience to help the board make sound decisions.
Person Specification
The Foundation seeks trustees who bring energy, enthusiasm, and diverse thinking to the board. The ideal candidate will have:

Previous experience in the finance sector.

Willingness and ability to understand trustee responsibilities and act in the charity’s best interests.

Creative and strategic thinking skills.

Capacity for independent judgement and collaborative work as a board member.

Strong communication skills and active participation in discussions.

Enthusiasm for the Foundation’s vision and mission.
Terms of Appointment

Initial appointment is for two years.

The role is unpaid, as it is a charity position, but reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.

Trustees are expected to attend 3–4 board meetings per year, currently held in person in Norwich.

The Foundation’s primary activity is the publication of INTEREST, a journal released every six weeks to coincide with Bank of England Monetary Policy Committee meetings.

What you will be doing
- Undertaking shop related tasks agreed with the Manager, for example:
- Selecting, sorting, and pricing donated stock.
- Chatting to customers, giving great service on the till.
- Researching valuable and vintage stock.
- Visual merchandising: creating eye-catching window and in-store displays.
- Photographing and listing items for the online shop.
- This role may include occasionally lifting boxes. We prioritise a safe working environment and provide comprehensive health and safety training to all volunteers.
