The Royal British Legion’s Advocacy and Complex Needs Service operates across the UK, offering holistic support to veterans facing complex and often isolating challenges.
Our Advisors directly support beneficiaries experiencing homelessness, mental health challenges, issues relating to alcohol and substance use, behavioural addictions, domestic abuse, involvement with the criminal justice system, and other circumstances that may affect the safety and wellbeing of adults, children and their families.

Reporting to the Advocacy and Complex Needs Manager for the region, key responsibilities will include:

- Complete effective and efficient case management of circa 20 complex beneficiary cases; ensuring case records are maintained, accurate and up to date.

- Complete visits with beneficiaries in their homes to assess need, build and maintain positive, professional relationships, build engagement, review progress and provide practical, person-centred support.

- Work holistically with beneficiaries to explore their full range of needs, identify and agree their priorities, and develop a clear, person-centred support and action plan.
- Provide specialist advice and advocacy, identify appropriate statutory and external services, including mental health, addiction and substance misuse, and housing services, and support beneficiaries with referrals.
- Work collaboratively with beneficiaries and partner agencies to overcome barriers, coordinate support around agreed priorities, and provide practical and motivational support throughout.

Face to face work with beneficiaries is an important part of the role, and the successful candidate will need to be able to travel across the designated area to meet beneficiaries in their homes or other appropriate community locations (travelling within working hours). You must live within the Staffordshire or Shropshire area. Other periodic travel will be required for team meetings.

The successful applicant will require a DBS check at Enhanced level to be undertaken as part of pre-employment checks.

Consultant opportunity: developing our long-term vision and strategy

Now in its 75th anniversary year, World Physiotherapy is seeking an experienced consultant(s) to co-ordinate the development of its Physio 2040 long-term aspirational vision and a five-year strategic plan (2027-32) that operationalises it.

This is a two-part but interlinked assignment.  Working closely with World Physiotherapy’s member organisations, global leadership, key stakeholders and staff, the successful consultant(s) will deliver an inclusive, evidence-based horizon-scanning and strategy development process, ensuring that our 2040 vision statement and strategic plan are completed ahead of the World Physiotherapy Congress in Guadalajara, Mexico in May 2027.

We are looking for a consultant or team of consultants who can:

• Coordinate and deliver the agreed vision and strategy development process, managing timelines, governance, stakeholder engagement and delivery milestones to ensure that both are completed on time and within budget.
• Facilitate workshops and engagement activities, develop the new strategic framework, support the approval process and help translate our new strategy into organisational priorities and work plans with appropriate reporting, monitoring, evaluation and learning embedded.

Budget

The total budget available for this evaluation is £20k, including all expenses and exclusive of all taxes.  All agreed activities and outputs must be delivered within this budget.

As a Community Support Coordinator, you will lead the delivery of our Community Support Volunteer service across Bristol, Bath, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire.

You will help people affected by Motor Neurone Disease (MND) to access high-quality, safe, inclusive and person-centred support. Working closely with volunteers, health and social care professionals, and local partners, you will build strong community connections, facilitate access to relevant information and services, helping people make informed choices about the support available to them.

This home-based role offers the opportunity to connect communities, strengthen volunteer networks, and ensure people have choice, control and access to the support they need.

Main Responsibilities

• Lead, support and develop a team of Community Support Volunteers
• Recruit, induct and retain volunteers, ensuring safe and effective service delivery
• Respond to enquiries and referrals, providing information, support and signposting
• Build strong relationships with health and social care professionals and community partners
• Support local branches and groups to understand and respond to community needs
• Promote inclusive, accessible and needs-led support that enables personal choice and control
• Facilitate effective communication between volunteers, staff and local stakeholders
• Support safeguarding processes and respond appropriately to concerns
• Monitor and record activity, outcomes and key performance information
• Contribute to service development, continuous improvement and regional teamwork

About You

• Experience leading, managing or coordinating volunteers, ideally within the voluntary sector
• Strong communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills
• Experience identifying and responding to support needs using a person-centred approach
• Understanding of care and support services and the role of volunteering within them
• Knowledge of safeguarding principles and risk management
• Ability to build networks and influence a range of stakeholders and partner organisations
• Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends
• Full UK driving licence and ability to travel across the region.

Essential requirement This role requires regular travel to locations that are not reasonably accessible to public transport and/or travel between locations within working hours. Applicants must hold a current valid driving licence. This is an essential requirement of the role due to the nature and location of the work. The MND Association will consider reasonable adjustments for disabled applicants in accordance with the Equality Act 2010. A lease car is provided as part of the benefits package.
