This Group meet on a Friday evening.

As Unit Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management of your St John Ambulance Youth unit. You will do this by leading weekly meetings, organising other youth development activities and actively participating in the recruitment, training and retention of the young people and volunteers in your unit. You will ensure that they have a positive and rewarding experience in St John Ambulance, by equipping them with the necessary skills to fulfil our vision; ‘Everyone who needs it should receive first aid from those around them. No one should suffer for the lack of trained first aiders.’

This role is ideal for someone who has some management experience and wants to enhance their skills while doing invaluable work. This role is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitations Offenders Act.

This is an exciting opportunity for a new Group to open in Mulbarton. The group will meet on a Tuesday evening during term time, so please ensure you are available then.

We are looking to run a volunteering selection session on: Interviews in Staverton, Gloucestershire or Via Teams 13 Oct for 2 weeks

If you are successful you will need to undertake induction & training for role at these dates: Welcome Event (Induction) - Welcome events will be in the Staverton Gloucestershire, in the first 2 weeks of December. Across the UK, our 270 local groups play a vital part in supporting people affected by MS. They provide sense of belonging, unity and friendship. And they deliver services and support for their local MS community.

We are looking to recruit a Communications Volunteer for the Huddersfield and Kirklees Group. As our Communications Volunteer you’ll make sure people know they have a local MS Society group to turn to.

In this role you’ll be able to develop your writing skills, and gain an experience of communicating across a range of digital channels. 

Time commitment

We estimate this role will need around 2 hours a week. Our roles are flexible and aim to fit around you. Time commitments for this role may vary depending on your activities. This is an ongoing role.

This is a great opportunity to gain experience within a large charity and develop your existing skills and learn new ones. We need you to get involved and help make positive changes to the lives of people affected by MS.

About you

You’ll have an interest in the MS Society and the work that we do, as well as the enthusiasm to represent both us and our values locally. You will understand the needs of people affected by MS in your area and be sympathetic to the needs and motivations of volunteers. You’ll be confident using Microsoft Office, the internet and email. As a Volunteer Hospice Driver, you’ll help transport children and young people for respite stays and fun day trips. You'll be part of the team making these memorable moments possible.

What You’ll Do:

• Drive the Claire House minibus to and from the hospice

• Transport children for activities, outings, and planned respite

• Check the vehicle is safe and roadworthy before each trip

• Support the care team by ensuring passenger safety

Requirements:

• Hold a full clean UK driving licence (checks will be completed prior to starting)

• A confident driver who is happy to drive a minibus

• Aged 21–74 (for insurance purposes)

• Empathetic, professional, and friendly

• Willing to complete training and follow safety protocols

WHO ARE WE?

Palmed Academy, the education arm of Palmed UK, is training the next generation of healthcare workers in Gaza. There is an extreme shortage of health workers and limited educational opportunities for medical, dental, and nursing students in Gaza. 

We aim to provide medical, nursing, and dental students with the resources, training, and opportunities to advance their education and become the future healthcare workforce in the Gaza Strip. We do this using a hybrid learning model - an online learning platform supported by international faculty to supplement on-the-ground clinical teaching by local faculty and healthcare workers.

This program is entirely free for the students. It costs about USD 150 / month to produce One Future Healthcare Worker through this program.

OUR IMPACT 

2100 Palestinian medical students are continuing their undergraduate education through GEM’s hybrid model. We have expanded to include nursing and dental  programs. 200 new doctors graduated in Gaza in January 2025, and our first cohort of nurses is set to follow in summer 2025.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR 

Palmed Academy is seeking a talented web designer to volunteer with us in building a new website. This is a great opportunity to showcase your creativity, build your portfolio, and contribute to an educational initiative that makes a real impact.

Our current website has a complex back-end interface that is difficult to manage. We are looking for a web designer to build us a new website using a no-code or low-code web design tool (e.g., Squarespace, or similar), ensuring it has a clean and simple back-end interface. Once built, the site should be easy to update by volunteers with no coding knowledge, so that content changes and updates can be managed smoothly by our team. This is a short-term project that should ideally be completed within 3-6 months, depending on the volunteer's availability. 

Skills required

• Experience designing websites with no-code tools, e.g., Squarespace 
• Strong eye for design, layout, and user experience.
• Be able to make the site responsive across devices.
• Create a clear handover process for future maintainers.
• Be collaborative, patient, and motivated by making a positive impact.

The Joint Partnership Board ( JPB ) and its Reference Groups are the vehicle for partnership working in Haringey; empowering social services clients, carers and other residents as equal partners to develop and achieve strategic borough priorities across the Council and Health services. The JPB is made up of the chairs of the Reference Groups, and key officers from the Council and Health, with administrative support provided. The Reference Groups represent the interests of specific communities, to ensure their voices are heard and their needs and aspirations are taken into account. Currently we have Reference Groups representing Autism, Carers, Dementia, Older People, Physical Disabilities and Carers for people with severe complex autism and learning disabilities ( SCALD ). We are working to re-establish a Learning Disabilities Reference group and further groups may be set up in the future. The Reference Groups develop their own networks and agendas and provide information to the Joint Partnership Board which enables it to prioritise its work to the key needs of the community.
