We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Young Adult/Paediatric healthcare professional with Neuro-Oncology or Oncology experience to work with our Healthcare Engagement Manager and Senior Paediatric Healthcare Engagement AHP
You’ll support healthcare professionals in providing high quality patient care in the Young Adult/Paediatric Neuro-Oncology field which will make a real difference to patients’ lives.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
You’ll bring your experience of Young Adult/Paediatric Neuro-Oncology/Oncology to help us realise our vision of bringing together this professional community and help improve outcomes for patients.
This is primarily a remote working role and we are seeking someone who is self-motivated, with the ability to work unsupervised and manage their own workload and diary.
You’ll be someone who enjoys getting out and about all around the UK to meet people, including overnight stays. You’ll regularly visit all 19 of the Paediatric and 30 Adult neurosciences centres, attend conferences and be welcomed to our head office in Fleet (Hampshire).
You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience of collaborative working across multiple sectors. Using these enhanced communication skills, you will develop further the existing network which promotes Young Adult/Paediatric Neuro-Oncology best practice and fosters peer networks and support. You’ll influence service improvement and patient care to achieve better outcomes for patients’ quality of life.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Develop new opportunities to work in partnership with Young Adult/Paediatric neuroscience centres, treatment centres and hospitals to drive best practice in Young Adult/Paediatric brain tumour care which focuses on improved outcomes and quality of life
- Further develop the Young Adult/Paediatric healthcare professional network, ensuring we develop and maintain productive relationships.
- Work collaboratively internally & externally to understand the needs of different healthcare audiences. Work with teams across the organisation to develop engagement tools & activities to increase knowledge & confidence in brain tumours
- Help build new networks to allow us to actively influence service improvement and patient care to achieve better outcomes for the patient’s quality of life
- Coordinate & facilitate engagement activities with healthcare professionals to gather actionable insights, develop surveys and produce hospital reports
- Work in conjunction with the Tessa Jowell Centres of Excellence and other external professionals to support the development and delivery of continuous professional development. Ensure the delivery of this programme of work reaches our target audiences and enables sustainable improvements to the delivery of patient centred care
- Keep and maintain high quality records for reporting on key performance indicators and other methods of evaluation
- Network widely through attending meetings, conferences and external events which may require overnight stays. Keeping up to date with research in the field as well as changes in the healthcare and regulatory environment

The Learning Design Specialist at UK-Med is pivotal in enhancing the preparedness and competence of healthcare professionals for humanitarian emergency response initiatives.
The Learning Design Specialist focuses on efficiently designing and coordinating development of targeted training programs for both internal organizational audiences and external humanitarian, global health and academic partners. The goal is to ensure that our Core Staff and a Register of approximately 1400 healthcare professionals worldwide are thoroughly equipped to provide exceptional care, leading to positive outcomes for the patients and communities we serve.
The Learning Design Specialist will contribute to innovating and refining UK-Med's training content, ensuring it meets the specific needs of a diverse, global workforce. They will be responsible for the creative and learning design specific aspects of expanding and quality assuring the learning portfolio, incorporating digital, in-person, and simulation-based training tailored to strategic priorities. In order to successfully deliver on responsibilities, the Learning Design Specialist will contribute to nurturing professional relationships to enhance our bespoke learning offerings, ensuring they meet the dynamic needs of our partners and maintain industry-leading standards.
The Learning Design Specialist will provide high-quality advice and support on designing effective learning solutions for external partners and conduct engaging and effective training sessions, both online and face-to-face, catering to the varied learning preferences and needs of the participants.
You will have a positive and flexible problem-solving approach and be willing, able, and ready to deploy to support all UK-Med programmes and projects.

Gaddum provides therapeutic support within the CYP Bereavement Therapy Service and the Complex Care Therapy Service across Greater Manchester. Our CYP Bereavement Therapy Service is delivered across Manchester and Salford. Our Complex Care Service is delivered across Salford, Rochdale and Stockport. Our Kentown Support Service will be delivered across Greater Manchester.
Role Purpose:
Working as part of the Gaddum CYP Bereavement Therapy and Complex Care Team, your role will be to provide effective and efficient administrative support to ensure the smooth running of Gaddum’s therapy services. You will be responsible for ensuring that all administration tasks are completed with a high level of accuracy and in accordance with relevant policies and procedures.
You will demonstrate appropriate professionalism and empathy towards clients both face to face and over the phone. A keen eye for detail, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to multi-task and effectively prioritise is key to the success of this role.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
· Processing referrals: adding them to our database as well as our waitlist spreadsheet, sending out therapy agreement emails to gain consent from families, communicating with referrers/other professionals where needed
· Screening referrals: for any unsuitable or high-risk cases, identifying those 16+ to help us build list for trainees
· Completing follow ups where needed - such as awaiting carer response to agreement/consent email, or we are waiting to hear back about something
· Responding to queries from professionals or service users
· Monitoring email boxes and supporting to monitor waitlist
· Completing IA’s with families who are due to start therapy
· Assisting with therapy bookings where needed (may be contacting schools or community venues on behalf of therapists)
· Liaising with professionals and assisting with onward referrals
· Keeping records up to date
· Communicating cancellations/scheduling changes to therapists or clients or both
· Support therapists with collecting feedback from parents/carers
· Attend team meetings, assisting with minutes where possible, helping to share information with the team
· Support with onboarding of new staff/volunteers/trainees, including support for CRM training and access
· Signposting for other services
· Communicate referral decisions to clients and healthcare professionals in line with procedures.
